Don't you just hate it when you do that Alison. At least you can get a photo. Do you reckon people think we are mad if we ask them to take a photo for us, which I've done before now?:)

Nice card Denise, you managed to get the pink on it.
I wouldn't worry about the E, I can see it )
I'm sure your friend will love it.
Ellie
Very pretty card Denise and as Ellie said I too can see the 'e' in cake and wouldn't worry about it. As my hubby would say to me' you're being over critical'.:) Your friend will be delighted with it.
This is mine ..

It's the nearest to it, I have . You can't see it on the photo, but
the first rose is raised up at the top.

Beautiful use of those High Tea papers Ellie.
Very pretty Ellie and such a lovely sentiment. The card is such a delight.
Just as well I enabled you to buy them Ellie! :D lol
Thank you, I'm so glad you did. :)
I can't leave you two alone for a minute can I, you're like naughty schoolchildren. I'm off to the hairdresser's, please try to behave yourselves whilst I'm gone.:lol::lol:
Yes Mom
Ellie
Well, I'm back and I am going to make you two sooooo jealous!
I went to the craft shop today and sadly just missed Rosemary Merry who had been there doing scrapbooking classes. Anyway, what did I spy but the most gorgeous papers some of which will be for my wedding layouts by, hmmmm what's the name now, oh yes, Kaisercraft. They are in the Lilac Whisper Collection and I bought a couple of High Tea just for the hell of it and a couple of Bo Bunny Secret Garden.
They had loads of Kaisercraft stuff which is what Rosemary is using in her next class I think. You two would have been in your element.
Oh yes, I'm jealous alright!!
Don't tell me that Elaine has enabled you as well. Shame on that girl!!
I must look on the web site for that collection.
Just today I was looking what was new for June, and saw one or two things,
which I just might order.
Enjoy your purchases Susie.
Ellie
I started off thinking I didn't need any cards for next month and up to now I've remembered I need 1 anniversary card, 1 wedding card and 3 birthday cards and that's only the ones I can think of off-hand. Some of the papers I bought are for scrapbooking and some will be great for cards. I also bought a little collection of die cuts to match the papers so they will be useful for both cards and LO's. It is cold here today and cloudy, but dry, and I'm hoping to make at least one more LO or a card, although I do need to move my celery on and this cool weather is perfect for it. Who knew celery didn't like hot weather!
I love the high tea
Where is Rosemary Merry now not at crabapple that closed down ??I like her I went to a couple of classes there I remember when she was on TV with Dawn bibby the craft shopping channel I forgot what it was called now but Dawn always was the queen bee well she thought she was better shut up in case anyone is a big fan she was ok
I have made a wedding card, it does have pink in it, not sure whether it is 'yarrow' enough though!!! Will upload a photo in a bit. Susie ... no dies .....? I may have bought, er, some this month....
wendy
I didn't say I hadn't bought dies now did I Wendy, I just didn't buy them yesterday at the craft shop.:D
I've bought TL dies Noel and Joy just too lovely to miss, though quite when I'll be making Christmas cards I don't know. So come on, tell all, what have you been buying, make me jealous! Oh and post your wedding card on here even if it isn't quite pink yarrowy enough, it will be lovely to see it anyway.
Rosemary is on C&C these days and must be touring round doing classes, as she is back over here doing Mini Book and Scrapbook Layout classes in July, August and September - a little bit on the pricey side for us OAP's but I'm sure she is worth it and I suppose it depends on whether they give you anything to work with, I must check.
I've never heard of her! Lol
Oi! I don't think I had ANYTHING to do with it...especially the die buying!Quote:
Don't tell me that Elaine has enabled you as well. Shame on that girl
And you have no excuse Wendy! Lol
I'm sorry Elaine, but as I stood by the Kaisercraft display I could feel my arm being twisted up my back and I felt forced to buy some papers - that could only have been your doing with some help from Ellie of course!
Who ME!!!!!!
Ellie
Do they do high tea pp.in 6x6?
Which is the local craft shop to you Susie ?is it in Liverpool ?
Yes Denise they do a paper pad 6x6.
Ellie
We do have a local one and they are a lovely family run business but they don't have a lot of the stuff I use. I do try to take my custom to them because it is great to have them close to hand and it is nice to keep the smaller businesses going and they have a wide variety of craft items but when I go to the hairdressers I go to one at a garden centre on the Wirral. Hubby has his coffee and cake, they have a lovely cafe/restaurant whilst I check out the craft and chat with the lovely ladies. Then we have a wander round the garden centre and sometimes on late nights we will have our tea there or as we did this week, we took our stroganoff home with us. For us, it is like a day out and I must admit they are always getting in lots of new stock so temptation is a big issue.:D
We also have Rennies which is an arts and craft shop in Liverpool town centre, but sadly most of the other craft shops have gone now. There was one at the Albert Dock and it had a sister shop at Brimstage Hall but that closed although they do have other craft there, such as Voirrey Embroidery, which is a brilliant shop for sewing, knitting and fabric based crafts.
How I envy all you lucky people with craft shops nearby.
Yes aren't they although my friend that lives on the Wirral said lots have closed I expect people but online but not the same as stroking though online sponsors here have gone too
Last year I went to the show in Harrogate it was fabulous for me not having been to one in years though the friends I went with said it was not as good as previous years
Your friend probably used to go to Brimstage and there was another fantastic shop by a lady called Linda and she disappeared. Funnily enough, it was when I went to visit her shop and found it gone that I called next door and they told me about Burleydam Garden Centre having a craft shop and I've never looked back. Ask your friend if she goes there, she won't be disappointed.
I once visited Brimstage I think such a shame that want did it have a cafe called something mouse ?
I will ask my friend I am missing our skype chats as she is on holiday at the moment When she gets back she manning the pressed flower stand at hobbycraft how exciting though theres not many guild members now thats where we met so she wont get myuch time to look around unfortunately
Yes, I think it is called that. We used to take dad there when he was visiting Clatterbridge Hospital, which is only a short distance away. We stopped going when the last craft shop went but next time we are over we must have a look in, they have some great little shops and of course the hens come to join you for cake and coffee. The hens only pinch your cake though. I did a LO of them, not sure if it's still in my gallery, must have a look - such cheeky things.
Did you ever go to the stamping show at Port Sunlight Susie ?
I just made a quick card for a friends DH who has broken his hip I didnt include raspberry yarrow I will take a photo tomorrow and pop in cardmaking thread
My computer has been giving me problems .... hopefully these will upload .....
The wedding card and something perhaps a bit more yarrow-y :-)
Wendy
Exquisite cards Wendy.
Love the scroll and butterfly. Hearts are lovely too
Ellie
No Denise, I didn't even know there was one.
Stunning cards Wendy and I can't believe you've got that embossing folder, I was only looking at cards with it on yesterday and thinking how lovely it is. I have some very similar by Tonic. I love the die cut frame, whose is it please?
Beautiful cards Wendy.
No more dies Susie! :nono:
Beautiful cards Wendy
Sorry Elaine, you may be a bit late there!
Though in my defence, I am looking more for dies that I can use on scrapbook layouts, the cards have taken a real back seat at the moment. I am sitting for hours on end scrolling through the photo's because the only way to make this scrapbook is by organising all the photo's I want to use first and there must be about 500 to go through. I suppose I should put this in General Scrapping really. But since those first 2 LO's I've set up another 6 and printed off a lot of the photo's, cannot believe how much I am enjoying it again.
Well done Susie, keep going.
Ellie
Its good you back into scrapbooking Susie
it's a Tonic, Venetian Lace I think, amazon have just got it back in stock. It is a set suitable for A4, the card above is an 8 x 8", I used the largest frame die.
My pc is really playing up, every time I try to scroll, or click on another tab, or go back, it freezes for ages - then goes again, then freezes again!!! Driving me bonkers and I can't do any blog posts :-(
