Hi, I just wondered how you guys "varnish" your altered tins. I have made a keepsake tin which I'd like to last for as long as possible. It's covered in paper and I'd like to seal it and maybe add a nice looking gloss finish to it as well. I've experimented with Mod Podge (not sure if I had the right kind  ) but it's still slightly tacky and I also tried to water down PVA glue but the paper buckled (perhaps I watered it down too much). I have heard about something called artist's gel medium - has anyone on here used it? Is it safe to use on something I want to last a long while?

Sorry for all the questions but I don't want to ruin it at the last hurdle - it's a gift for my friend and it's already late!!!!

I would also love some advice on this. I used Anita's glossy acents, however it is quite thick and left brush marks - Help!
