Remember me saying in the other thread about all that searching last night on a random family???? Well they might not be so random!

My GGmother was Magaret Lawson Grieveson registered 1900 Lanchester, but that was all I knew. I went off on a tangent when I found Ellen Lawson Grieveson, 1902 lanchester but nothing else. The family I did follow had a daughter called Ellen L Grieveson towards the end and were from Tanfield. today I found a live member of the family and thought, sod it, and phoned them out of the blue, explained who I was (really close family, my grandfathers sister didn't recognise his name!) and asked if she could spare 5 minutes. 5 minutes later I knew that Margaret's mother was called... Ellen Lawson Grieveson !!! and was from Beamish, another quick scan on Ancestry brought up... Beamish, Tanfield Co Durham in the results!!

My great aunt didn't recognise the younger Ellen but did give me the names of her aunts and uncles she could remember! Sadly she didn't know anything about her dad's family that would help other than he was one of 6.

Can I just go.....

Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeee I can't believe all that work I did last night looks as if it's actually gonna be worthwhile, I just have to go and double check everything now!!

yep, especially as I can't find another Ellen that looks as if she'd fit! :) :)

Except, it must be the right family (Lawson Grieveson) but how come Ellen hasn't changed her name... maybe I should be looking for one of the boys marrying?

I vaguely remember meeting her once, it was at my grandad's funeral and it was then that I found out he had sisters.
