Hi Niamh, We will be 9!!

Check my Blog you can see a Classic Movies CJ i have done, It's my CJ, so IO made the covers & decorated them, Then you do an intoduction page Your Layout in your chosen theme & Finally a Sign in page at the back.
Then you will send to Who ever & you will do a Layout in each members cj in the chosen theme for That CJ.

There are so many possibilities with books too... great idea, may pinch that when I do a mob one!!! How old is your daughter ( or will she be when the cj comes back?) Dont want to aim too young!

She's 7, but a very advanced reader - I'm thinking things like Enid Blyton, Michael Morpurgo, Secret Garden, Anne of Green Gables things like that.

I think I've finally got a theme, if I've got the wrong idea please tell me.
As I have three DDs 11,13 & 16 I thought Sisters would be a good title.
I'm not too worried how it works out, perhaps sister quotes or even pages about how unique each of them are.

Does this sound OK? Also I was thinking of using a pink pig journal and was wondering if there is any size that is better.

well i am getting excited now...i saw some journals on Thursday and they scared the pants outta me lol

this is my first one too....have just made the covers for mine....need to decorate them now....need to do the inside pages.

now can i just clarify....do e need to add double pages for each entry or single.....or is it up to us lol...just thinking that oneside of a page wont be enough IYKWIM.....so maybe if it's like a mini double LO...is that right ?????

just popped in to say that I've been working on my CJ today done the front cover and intro. so I feel pretty up to date of course its been at the expense of my scrapbook album as thats way behind its deadline.if only I did'nt keep being sidetracked I dread to think how many albums I could have finished.

Hummm I read that too, Seems like recorded's not worth the money we pay! but at least the item is insured, so long as we put Art work on it I think that's was some one said!

Here you go, This is what Flo just posted.......

"for artwork you can usually claim full price (ie £30 or so) as long as you have a photo of what was in the parcel.

I had a layout go missing and claimed the full amount and got it - but they did request a photo

for non artwork, if you don't have a receipt, and it's a fairly common item, they will accept alternative proof of what the item is worth - for example I sent a friend some Nike trainers and didn't have the receipt - they 1/2 turned up - the parcel had been opened and one trainer was missing (not much use one on its own!). I didn't have the receipt but attached to my claim a print out of an online catalogue showing the same trainers and their price (which was actually £10 more than I had paid for them, so I made a profit!!)

by the way, it's not £28 any more, it's at least £30 (it's 100 x the cost of a first class stamp) - what are first class stamps nowadays? I think they went up this week."

We're insured for £32 (100 first class stamps) whether we get POP or send it recorded I think - it's only traceable once it's been delivered if it's recorded. Otherwise it has to be sent Special Delivery which costs ca £3.50 extra and insures for more only if we put artwork on the front.

the thing with recorded is you only get proof of delivery with that - and I think we are all likely to come on here and say we received it - I dont see that you get anything over and above what you get if you ask for proof of postage - which costs nothing extra, but am happy to go with the majority

Sorry I've not been around to join in much, I've been around the boards but just jumping in and out when I have time. I'm holiday from school now so am going to work on my CJ this week.

I've also started a little box of bits that might be useful when I get the CJs to add to, papers, quotes and stuff.

Jackie, I just looked at your on your blog it's lovely. I'm think I'm OK getting mine done but am going to be really nervous when the first one arrives with me:wacko:

Help!! I'm in a panic. I've done the covers and a sign in page at the back. I've nearly finished the intro page but now I'm worried, should I be doing a double page to start it off? Also I read that someone was putting instructions in theirs should I have done that too!

well well

i was all to schedule and was going to do an altered jigsaw to put as part of my entry

i painted the jigsaw but then it wouldn't fit back together, so yesterday i got a different jigsaw and will attempt it again today!!

The threads been haning around the CJ forum since October - Kathie was going to hst it - then she was ill and I said I'd do it after Christmas and well- now it's past Easter and first posting is Monday. THere are only 7 doing it so there is space for you is you want - but it would be rather a rush to get it done by Monday.

Hi Tina. Any sort of book is fine - the only reason I chose what I did was because of the family connection. And a book for when she is older is fine - TBH her reading capabilities surprise me even now and you would be surprised what she reads. Go for it! All I'm after is some reccommendations for a darn good read :lol:
