Okay, so I have a copy of Complete Guide to Altered Imagery, which is as good as it looks. Also have some bad photos, which I will soon attack with various materials (paint, gesso, bleach, pastels, etc). I'm not the only one who's going to / who has tried it.....come and share!
And what else have you tried on photos - even if it went horribly wrong. I think I will attempt a mistake with alcohol inks, even if it is destructive
I have the same book - great isn't it :)
I haven't done anything too extreme to any photos yet, but have sanded and scratched a couple, and coloured them with pens etc.
A friend tried the bleach thing but hers bleached too white too quickly, maybe English bleach is stronger than US bleach?
I really do have to have a proper play - got to find the time!
but not tonight - got Tim's new DVD to watch!!
Sarah :)

What is this? A book that is dedicated to Altered Art. Okay must get it too.
I got mine from Amazon - that blooming website gets half my wages!!
Kittenglitter, the book is specifically about making art from photos by altering them, often completely beyond recognition. It's by Karen Michel
It's a fab book, really.

hello,
i have that book and i love it.
i have done lots and lots of bleaching, scratching, transfers and everything else in the book.
bleach works fine, i use really cheap stuff so that there's nothing unneccesary in there like smells and stuff, just make sure you mix it with the same amount of water as bleach and move it back and to in the tub when you are doing it and as soon as the edges turn pink take it out straight away and rub it under a running tap or in a tub of water.
i will try and scan in some of my experiments sometime.

Another one here who's got that book!! I've not tried the bleach yet, just waterbased markers - love playing with them!! Will the bleach work as well on photos I've printed from my digi-cam, or will I have to have the photos developed professionally to get a good effect???

i think as long as they are on photo paper, it should be ok. I've tried some photos I printed my my photo lab and it works fine, but I haven't attempted the bleach yet (chicken)
