Does anyone have any recommendations of software for creating a family tree. Ideally I'd like to be able to print out individual families as I'd like to create scrapbook pages with photo's etc.

Hi Jackie
I have been using Family Tree Legends for a few weeks now and have found it really easy to use and it gives fab results - very easy to produce reports, trees (start with which ever family member you want, produce different kinds of reports and trees, and you choose how many generations to include). It has a scrapbook facility and will even produce books! You can also export your reports and trees to other kinds of files (like Word docs, PDF or JPG files so you can email them to others). You can add photos and lots of other things. I recommended it to another user on here who bought it and is also finding it good. Once you have entered your data you can export it to a Gedcom file - good for uploading to internet sites like Genesreunited etc. I will PM you a link to the site where you can take a tour to see what it does. Also, another thing I liked, you can buy it from the site (29.95 dollars, don't know what that translates to in pounds) and download it. If anyone else wants the link just let me know.
(I've also PM'd you a link to a review of an earlier version of this software.)

I've got Family Tree Maker, it's great too, allows export & import from GEDCOM files.

I've been have a play with it, its really good, I already have a paper family tree dating back to 1788, so I've a lot of info to put in. Hopefully when finished it will be a lot easier to read (this is a bit faded) and I should be able to create some scrapbook pages with the photo's I've got.
Hi Jackie,
Kerry recommended Family Tree Legends to me and I am hooked!

I've got Family Tree Maker & have just upgraded to the newest version. I've always used this one & have found it great. Anyone know of any big differences between FTM & FTLegends???
I went for family historian I tried some of the others and didn't like them Have a look on the different web sites for each program they usualy give a free trial

I downloaded the personal ancestry file from family search .org - does me ok. Can print out various things from it and can put pics in too (free)

I've got genbox at the moment but the free trial is coming to an end and I'm not sure whether to register it or to get another one. I'm struggling to print out from it because to fit it all on one or two pages the writing has to be really small.
