Welcome to my March/April Birthday swop :D
Thank you to everyone who expressed an interest in taking part in this and encouraging me to go ahead and host it.
If your interested in taking part please feel free to PM me. Basically if your birthday is in March or April you can participate.
You will need to PM me with your UKS name & real name, address and Birthday date. I will then add you to the list along with your Birthday and allocate you someone to buy a present for and vice versa *you will not necessarily be buying for the same person you will receive from*
The idea is to buy a scrapbook related gift/gifts, wrap it up and forward it to your birthday buddy in time plenty of time for them to open in on their special day.
If you can let me know what value of gift you would like to buy (either £5 or £10 this does not include P&P) i will match you up to someone who has opted for the same value.
The earlier i get your names the soooner i can partner you with your birthday buddy. You can choose to buy a random scrapping gift or post on here your likes and dislikes to give your buddy a clue as to what you like.

Good idea faye - we can always post our likes and dislikes on here for quick reference. Or in my team at christmas we all set questions which we ourselves ans wered then the others answered - then who-ever answers the question would ask another one......and so it went, was good to find out what we liked and didn't like and also a bit of 'get to know' you about it.

Example - i'd say, Eyelets or brads? I love to use both but definately have a stronger weakness for brads!

In doing this i have shown my answer and set the question for others to answer.........anyone with me here :rolleyes:. You can go back and answer as many questions as you like or just the most recent one asked - the more we ask and answer the more customed your pressie may be ;)

cool. i will answer the question. i love eyelets and brads but would prefer not to get any as i am now doing 2 eyelet swops and a brad swop and i also sell brads and eyelets to earn extra money on ebay. so i have brads and eyelets coming out of my ears lol.

patterned ribbon , plain, text or no ribbon? No ribbon - you wash your mouth out right now :lol:. You gotta have ribbon, i like to staple it to the pages :wub: and yep - i love the madly brightly coloured patterned ribbons - but not too wide mind.........(angie dreams of her new ribbons she sorted only last night)


stickers or rubons for letters Now your asking......i love rubons - mainly cos you get so many in a pack so they are more versatil(esp the provocraft ones), but if the stickers are domed they win hands down :D

Papers? Oooooh papers, again i gotta go with Darm (we should team up together ;)) The brighter and funkier they are the better - i'm loving the new colour me silly range from BG :wub: and i am renowned for hating BG stuff, but these papers are lush!!! Saying that i do like ot work a lot with black and white photographs so i've been liking neutrals and vintage colours recently - but not a fan of vintage styles :nono:

OK - next questions - double or single lo's? (more curiosity thatn anything - but somethign to consider if buying papers). I nearly always do double lo's - cause i'm greedy and can't fit it all on one page :lol:

I altered 2 provocraft lunch tins last month for birthday presensts. I also did a paint tin for dd's newly decorated room (I actually washed out a paint can we'd used!) for practise first. They are in my gallery. I loved doing them. I would love to do more altering, if only I had the time.....

Sorry but I love Basic Grey. I bought the froggy one out of the ew colour me silly range tonight - just because its gorgeous & I had to have it! I'm not a pink lover or flowery paper person & I don't have children either.

mostly double but I am starting to do more single.

Just discovered primas - they not too flowery to me.

Brads or eyelets - both but prefer brads, love flowery ones and girly colours or metallic


ribbons - LOVE ribbons, prefer patterned narrowish ribbon (approx 1cm wide) in natural or girly colours or pastels. Really love ribbon lots !


Papers - love BAsic Grey and Junkitz ranges. really like bright colours but also natural colours as well (greens, browns, burgundys etc )


Single LO's mainly

Love blossoms - particularly large ones (got my eye on the new large Prima ones!) and love paper flowers too especially large Primas

Prefer alphabet rub ons to stickers - particularly love the Making Memories ones!

Prefer textured card stock especially Bazzill and DCWV

Favourite scrapbooking colours at the moment would have to be pinks / creams / browns.

Scrapping or altering - well scrapping primarily but would love to have a go at altering.

Fave colours to scrap with? Any really......i'm pretty adaptable - although i love my bright colours and unusual papers!!!
Inks or Chalks Hhhhmmmm difficult one - cos it depends on the layout and the looks i'm trying to achieve! I love my glimmer chalks for subtle effects, but as i say i'm not a subtle person so i guess i'd have to go for the inks - esp TH ones :wub:
Size i prefer 12x12, although i'm just about to start an 8x8 project now i got all the stuff ready. I did my mum a 6x6 book for her birthday last yr and hated every page of it :lol: i just fond it very restrictive really!
What pictures do you mainly scrap e.g boys, girls, pets, etc Anything and everything, well my family is mom & dad (who live in scotland so never get chance to take piccies), i live with DP & my 2 puddies :wub:. I have a darling god-daughter who maes for such fun lo's and i became and Aunty last yr to my nephew - started a book on him but piccies have slowed down a bit now :D. I love to take piccies from days out, crops etc - the little things. Oh and i have my graduation coming up so that will be my priority soon YAY

die cut title or hand cut I actually took a class on hand cut titles and found myself to be very talented at it - i just can't master the PC enough to creat the title i like yet, lol. I do have a QK machine and just purchased an alpha set with early b-day money, and i have access to sizzix machine and die's at my monthly crop and round a friends house!
do you scrap in photo order or just whichever takes your fancy Whatever i feel in the mood for at the time, i tend to make up page kits if i can so i can just pick out a kit and see if i get inspired with it!!!
Do you like simple or ott lo's I have a tendency to go with simple but striking. I tend to like quick results from my lo's - mainly due to time constraints i have with my studies at the moment. I do sometimes plan special lo's and spend more time lulling over them. I do love doing unusual cj's though - i try to be different from the rest and often find myself very inspired by the lo's of others.

I love all embellies, it's hard to pick a colour but looking in my embellie box i do have 2 dedicated boxes titles - 'all things girly' So i guess i go for the sassy colours! Sorry i havent been around, ive been poorly but here goes on my likes and dislikes.
Brads or Eyelets: I prefer brads especially shaped ones.

Stickers or Rub ons: Im not really into stickers but i love rub ons.

Cardstock: Im easy on this but fave is bazzill.

Papers: I love colours and overly patterened paper, faves include SEI, Mambi, Urban Lily etc.

Ribbons: I love patterned ribbon especially doodlebug,may arts and american crafts.

Inks: I would love some black or brown distressing ink, but im easy.

Blossoms/flowers: I love prima flowers so much, but i also really like silk blossoms.

I work with all size albums and i have a 4x4, 6x6, 8x8 and a 12x12 on the go plus various other projects so and again im easy on this.

I love altering things, ive done a lunch tin (Toni, its in my gallery if you want to check it out) and im willing to try something new.

I love alphabets of various shapes and sizes and i love die cut letters or a chipboard alphabet sets for me to alter. Im a bright and loud scrapper and im not really into plain pages, i love lumpy bumpy pages and metal embellishments esp charms. Im a really girly girl so i hope my pressy represents this. I dont have any children so no child related items and i dont do glitter in anyway shape for form, it just doesnt do it for me on my pages.

Other than all this, im happy with getting anything even if it means something that i wouldnt normally use. I like a challenge!! Im so excited im going to sort out my buddys pressy next week and i cant wait to get shopping.

Ive managed to get the new sei range, winnies wall and so many other bargains as its an American site, get this i got 2 bottles of prima flowers for the price of 1. They are having a massive sale. Brads or Eyelets: I could do with some shaped ones - to use for a boy

Stickers or Rub ons: i love rub ons alphabets or those real life type stickers that Petc do

Cardstock: Bazill is great but I love the DCWV stuff with the white core

Papers: Anything for a boy

Colours: Anything goes!!

Ribbons/ Fibres: I tend to go for the skinny ribbons you can get

Blossoms/flowers: I love prima flowers but am in the small primas swap so would like some bigger ones too.

I'm not really into die cuts and don't own a sizzex or anything similar.

Just thought, do we send about a week before their birthday or when? If you send about 7-10 days before their birthday then at least that gives it plenty of time to get there. You can always mark it up 'Do Not Open Until' so they have a hint.

When you have posted your buddy's pressie out, can you please let me know so i can tick you off as sent. Similarly when you receive your pressie - let me know so i can confirm you have received. I've had a fab day, lots of scrapping pressie's to name a few major ones - DP got me a subscription to Canny Craft's HOTP monthly kit - he gave me one this morning to open and more to come :D , my dear Mum got me a proper scrapping Tote:wub: until now i had a robox and several bags of all kinds of descriptions, now it's all tidied away in a huge fabby tote (and the option to add another tote on top sould i ned to at a later date;) )
A friend bought me a selection of Scrapbook papers which are completely lush - and from everyone else i had money to go wild with :lol: (Scrapajack here i come :lol: )

I was out last night for my 30th (on Tues) with my life long friends. They are not into scrapping at ALL in fact they don't get it!! But still they managed to club together and by me loads of fabby things including some scrapping stuff - or geek stuff as they call it!! I got a pack of Fancy pants paper and tags, some MM metal phrases, some glittery card, buttons and tags - the same ones I picked for my swapee!! Plus some dinosaur stickers for LO's of my little boy and a few other bits and bobs. VERY impressive for a bunch of girls who know nothing about SB'ing !! I will also have comfy feet in new socks and slippers, smell nice with loads of nice smellies and listen to Arctic Monkeys whilst I scrap!! They are the best!!

bought my swapees pressie in perth yesterday but then the woman forgot to put all my things in the carrier and some got left in the shop:( left a message on her answermachine and hoping shell ring today and arrange posting them to me or will need to buy more as wont be in perth again until next easter:( :(

Happy Birthday Jen. Sorry I didn't say it earlier, am a day ahead of myself. Was thinking it was the 15th today. Wishful thinking I think as that's the day the Scrapagogo kits get posted out LOL.

Silly question this but are we letting our swap partners know who we are? The lady I am buying for hasn't really posted on here so apart from her likes and dislikes it's hard to know what to buy. It would be nice to get to know her a little better IYKWIM. I'm planning on buying at the NEC at the end of the month so the choice will be endless and I would rather buy something I'm fairly sure she will like. To start with I thought it was anonymous but I've seen a few people thank specific people. Can someone please enlighten me??? Thanks.
