Right – this should be a fun swap! Everyone will need to get a Smartie tube/box (or something similar in size). You then need to fill it with lots of tiny stash. These can include things like brads, eyelets, snap, fibres, ribbons, tiny stickers, photo anchors, prima flowers, bookrings, blossoms, teeny tags and any other stash that will fit!!! Original Ideas would be nice too – what about an altered Ikea pencil?

You can then send directly to your swap. This will be a secret swap – so the person you send to will not be the person who sends to you. Label them with your UKScrappers name so when they get there you swap can thank you.

They'll be 50 participants if there’s enough demand. Lets hope so!

If you want to join send me a PM with your UKScrappers name, Real Name and Address. And I’ll send you your swaps name/address when the swap is full!

they have stopped making the tubes now, they are like a long box with a flip lid, but about the right size.

OKya, i went to every shop and new agent yesterday and could get the tubes :( I did type it into ebay and they are people selling them, but I dont think I will go that far to get one. I like the idea of the mini egg tube, is that okay to use. I lovvvvveeeeee mini eggs.

I unglued my one until it was flat (really interesting design actually B) ), stuck it onto paper and cut round then glued it all back together again - seemed to work :lol: Wish it was a round one though, I want my plastic letter :sniffles:

Are we going to look at likes/dislikes for people when we get our swapee or just make up the contents how we like? I've started collecting together little bits and pieces - you're right, it fits loads :) Really looking forward to receiving my one already :lol:

I wrapped Ribbon around my hexagonal tube then my swapee can unwrap the ribbon & use it :)

I managed to wrap my heaxgonal tube and have also decorated with a suede type ribbon that has other things poked in to it that can be dismantled and used. I've sorted a lot of stuff and and had a trial run putting stash in. You can actually get a lot of bits in but it will be a major sort out session at the other end because if you put into bags you cant get nearly enough in!

I was putting layers of ribbon or fibres in between embellishments to pad them and keep them safe...also means theres not too much rattling of the packet through the post!

Just found out how to add my likes and dislikes...I am learning a lot!!

So I've added:
pastels and pretties, jewels, sparklies and iridescents (but not necessarily bright glitters..gentle heritage... don't particularly like strong dark colours BUT forgot to say I'm a dragonfly person

got my old style smartie tube today and going to cover it tonight. are we just sending it when its full and ready or should we wait till nearer the complition date?

Has anyone sent yet - If not do we all want to wait until say the begining of march (say if thats not good for anyone) to post so we all get them about the same times? (Mines full and waiting on the computer desk!)

March is good for me too..>With the psotal strike on I haven't had post for 3 weeks!!!! And then there will be a huge backlog of post to sort out so even if it ends today, the psot won't be back to normal until March anyway. Plus it's my birthday next month so will be nice to recieve an extra pressie... :lol:

Mr Postie arrived this morning with several parcels....DS1 helped me unwrap them and my tube has arrived....its ab fab....but Im not opening it to look whats in side until March....its been put safely away out of eyesight but the temptation is just so unbelievable...I WILL BE STRONG AND RESIST!!!!!!!!!

Any tube available is fine (I got the last two in my local superdrug and the woman serving thought i was mad and wanted to transfer the smarties from the hexagonal ones before eating them! lol)

I have got as far as buying a tube of mini eggs and a 2 hex tubes of smarties...and I havent eaten them yet!!!

Must try to get myself organised sometime this week...full of cold and not doing any scrapping ..buttttttt...Ive been playing with some large brads ...embossing ink pads and embossing powders and now have rainbow of colours,of big brads....just need to find out if my recipient likes brads...oh well,if not..they look lovely and were worth the fiddliness so I can keep them..!!!!

My smartie tube arrived yesterday. I didn't realise what it was, so opened it - found a tube wrapped in LOADS of ribbon! So I've put it away in my crop bag.
