12 people per group - each one buys an allocated colour of Tim holtz embossing powder, splits it as equally as possible into 12 baggies then sends them all to me to be split and re-distributed. Each participant will receive one of each colour back.

Label them with your UKScrappers name and the embossing powder colour, and then send them to me. Please also include a label with your name and address and return postage.

They'll be 2 groups of 12, if there's enough demand and that way I can split up any duplicate colours.

Ok everyone, here's the long awaited swop and the names i have of people signed up so far (who have PM'd me).
You all need to buy a pot of Tim Holtz Distressing embossing powder and split it onto 12 little baggies (i advise double bagging to avoid spillage problems in transit). I would appreciate it if you could label each baggy with the colour of the embossing powder so the recipient knows which is which. Pop them into a jiffy bag along with an SAE or sticky label and some postal stamps then send them along to me.

Ali i dunno any online stockinst who supply it but the majority of retailers should sell it as it's a basic essential. Saying that you can use any inks you already have - as the colours are quite bold they will cover lighter shades of ink no probs (i used some of the ones i already had last night).

Had it on good authority from Tim himself that you need the clear embossing ink pads to get the best distressed effect from rubbing (I have a friend who asked him the other day for me as I wasn't have much luck with an ordinary ink pad.)

Have you tried a versamark, the powders should also work on his distress pads equally well I think, thats how I've been using them, and they rub off ok.

My powders have just gone in the post, and I'm up for another swap when you get the green light.

Sorry to sway off track a little but does anyone else have problems with the distressing inks? I cannot for the life of me get them to 'puddle' and spread like time does, I have bought a spritzer bottle and that doesn't work, I have tried different types of card and paper, but everything I use the ink seems to have soaked in and dried before it does anything. Any advice anyone?

I'll ask my friend to ask him tomorrow when she see's him for a quick demo and get back to you once she shows me at the crop i go to ;).
I use my embossing powders with the same colour inkpads too - that is until i get more from this swop - then i'm bu**ered :lol: suppose i'll revert to my good ole versamark :wub:

LOL Tracy, your not the first one to ask me - AFTER they signed up for the swop :D .
Basically you use them like a normal embossing powder but then when the powder has cooled bits of it rub off - giving you a distressed finish :D.

I wanted to distress some tags exactly as Tim did on his video, but it just wouldn't work, they looked the same kind of tags too.

I used my inks on some cardboard luggage type tags - they turned out lovely, so i turned them into a tag book for my friend :wub:.
I also did a cj lo the other day in alcohol inks - the effects were gorgeous over the photo's. Now i need more bottles of inks, hhhmmmm wonder if we can split those into baggies, lmao!

Yep - although i only have 3 colours. I also have some of the alcohol ink mixatives (the ones in a bottle) - they are just the best, esp the limited edition metallic ones :wub:

no probs - sorry to break you out in that sweat, i'm so used to saying things in tens for the swops:lol:.But yeah - my spoon did exactly 12 bags (not 10 :lol:) then i realised i could have left mine int he pot - but it would have looked a bit sorry for itself in there (looks more in a baggie).
Although if anyone doesn't have a use for their little pot - i'd be more than happy to take em off your hands (esp the black soot one and the red cos i got RAK'd 3 lots of these and would be nice to accumulate em all into a pot but i don't mind other pots). If you wanna do this pop em with the powders minus your return postage and i'll sort your postage out in return for them (plus some extra's ;) )

Well Group 1 - we did it, all powders are in witht he reciept of mum2a16yrold's today (thanks for the extra's - i'm loving the daisy's, will go on my altered clipboard a treat;) Thanks x)

I will take them with me tonight when i go to see my (scrapping) friend so i can pop them in the post box on my way home. Hopefully that way you should all have them by the weekend:D

Sorry ladies - i meant to come on and let you know i posted them, gosh you got them quick - they only went in the post box last night at about 7pm :huh:
I put mine into stackable pots - the base of the one is the lid for the next one down IYKWIM - works out well for me and keeps them all together ;).
I'm glad you all like them and are hapy - if there's any colours your not sure of shout me and i can confirm for you (sorry i was very tired as i shared them all out to post and wasn't feeling up to labelling the plain ones - but i think most of the colours are clear enought to work out).
I've been asked to host a plain embossing powder swop after this one which i am more than happy to do, so watch this space if your interested ;).
Right - when i get home (i'm in uni now) i'll mark off everyone as you post on here to say you've received so i can check everyone gets their powders.

I received Claires22's powder this morning, i just need to bag it up for her then i can set about sharing them all out and posting them off.

My apologies again to you all, as i said the other day i received Naomi's powder ready to bag it up - only to find the sponser had sent the wrong colour (anyone need Tattered Rose ? :lol:)
Anyway - i have now managed to get the right colour, bagged it up, split all the powders into your envelopes, added stickers and stamps - a few goodies for you all for the delay in the swop - and they are all sealed ready to post!!!
I will be posting them shortly, and i'm going to take the time to sit and rate you all now.
