View Full Version : ~~~ House Challenge ~ February ~~

House Challenges now leaving at Departure Gate 2

Hope you've all checked in with your House thread and are packed and raring to go as we jet off on our latest set of Challenges.

Please take your seats at your scrapping desks and ensure that your supplies are all secure as we start off to our first destination.

For February we will be stopping at...

FRANCE, for lots of romance during this Valentine month.

What comes to mind when you think of France? is it the historic cities? or the contrasting landscapes, the châteaux, abbeys and manor houses. How about the markets, shopping and trendy terrace café's. And don't forget the ski-ing! Or maybe its just the wine

Your challenge is to produce a layout INSPIRED by France, and its totally open to interpretation, so plenty of scope for you to work with.

You have Week 1 and Week 2 to create your layout and upload it to the correct House Gallery. And if you complete the layout, you may claim either 10 or 20 points for your team. You can enter as many times as you like. You will also earn points for your House but you dont need to claim these, as they will taken from the Gallery entries.

As we enter Week 3 your House Leader will set up a poll, and you may vote for your House Entry. Please remember you can ONLY vote in your own House poll, not in any other.

Finally, before we leave France, in Week 4 I will set up a poll to choose the overall winner.

That will conclude our trip to France and we'll be packing up our supplies and moving to another destination.

We hope you enjoy your journey
Fi & Karen

Sounds fun, does it have to be an actual scrapping LO or can it be a kind of Art Journal Style LO and does it have to be 12 x 12? Sorry to ask so many questions, but I would like to do the whole years challenge thing as a separate journal.

Been meaning to scrap DS's Paris school trip pics so that's a possible. Are we allowed to do more than one if the muse so inspires?

stardust
02-02-2006, 10:39 AM
That sounds a good idea Ann. Is it OK to copy that idea? Weekly challenges can be smaller than 12x12 can't they? This will probably be the same.

What a good idea - I think I will do the same - keep a seperate album that is - I have a 6x6 and an 8x8 so it would be good to use one of those :D

yes, you can enter more than once :D

and the size isnt limited to 12x12, 8x8 or 8 1/2 x 11 are allowed too :D

loving the idea of a separate journal that some of you have, but hope that anyone with no France pics isnt put off, it doesnt have to be a layout of France or something French but just be inspired by iykwim :D

have fun :D

Kind of like a CJ sort of thing, wouldn't it, but one that we'd keep to fill ourselves each time a new deadline is set :) I also have no photos of France so maybe a bit of web research and a trip to the local holiday shop for some brochures of France. I'm gonna make an 8x8 size Journal for this house challenge and other challenges as I think the Journal is a great idea.

I have just found a 20 franc note in the side pocket of my purse .it must of been there for years,I said I know what I am goingto use this for,ds2 replied a layout about France, I was convinced that he had been looking on here again like he does sometimes ,he said no ,he just knows what I am like now days.

Will have a go at this one too.... went to France to stay in a friends house last summer... only have a few pics as camera packed up on day 3, and to be honest they could have been taken anywhere in the countryside so don't look particularly French!!!

I would love to join in with this. I have photos from France during the farmers revolt when they set fire to a town hall and we got caught up in the tear gas! I won't be using those though  I also love the idea of making a separate journal for it so I am going to start my ideas straight away. Thank you for such a freat idea :D

03-02-2006, 10:19 PM
Charly, I don't see why you couldn't do 6 x 6, as you get the same points for a 6 x 6 as you do for a 12 x 12 in the normal team points, but then I may be wrong.

I have made the covers for my Art Journal, that I am going to use to keep all my LO's in, I am doing 8 x 8. Will post a piccie tomorrow. :) Off to start my France pages now.

Charly
03-02-2006, 10:28 PM
Will look forward to seeing the pics Ann and thanks for the fab idea i hope you don't mind me scraplifting it?!

I was thinking of doing a round one ie. the earth being round but i think i may be a good girl save myself some money and make a square one?!

I think it is a great idea to do it as a seperate album kind of my 'view' of different places in the world and how i feel about them if i would like to visit them etc

mum2a16yrold
03-02-2006, 10:30 PM
My thoughts exactly. I wanted to do an art journal this year, but never got around to starting one, so this way I get to do one and have a play. :)

Jay
03-02-2006, 10:44 PM
Your round one sounds interesting Charly.

Charly
03-02-2006, 10:50 PM
Thanks Jay i just can't quiet decide if i should be naughty and buy a round sarsbook for it or just be a good girl and make my own square one i am leaning towards square as i have already been a naughty girl too much this month and it is only the 3rd!

Hi new team member. This months challenge has now closed;) It runs for the first 2 weeks of the month - voting is now taking place and the results of each house winner should be announced on Thurs or fri ;)

Watch out for a new house Challenge at the beginning of March;):)
