View Full Version : Round lunch tin help
Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I have just bought a round lunchtin and was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to cover/decorate it please. TIA
I have some in the gallery on my blog, I painted mine first then stamped and collaged over the top. If you like them and would like to know anything I'm happy to share ideas
WOW Jane theyre fantastic, can I ask did you use acrylic to paint them? I love the colours. While I think of it do you know if alcohol inks work on them too? I'd like to use mine as an alternative handbag so am trying to create something a bit different ;)
Thanks Kel, I use mine for a bag too! I painted mine with acrylics, I use Jo Sonja's, they are lovely to use and cover very well. Just apply thin layers and build it up, it's easier than a thick coat. For stamping onto it I use Palette, Stazon or Brilliance inks. Alcohol inks should work onto the white but I haven't tried it myself. I used acrylic matte gel medium to layer the collage and give it a final coating, I just rub it on with my finger, if you put thin coats they dry quickly.
Come back and show us what you have made when it's finished?
thanks for the tips Jane, will show you as soon as I finish ;)
is PVA ok to use for sticking papers on? I've only got that and Hi Tack crystal lacquer at the moment
Yes it should be fine, maybe water it down a bit. Somebody put a recipie for home made mod podge using PVA on the general scrapping forum this mornng, that might help
Thankyou! BTW the alcohol inks go on brilliantly ;)
just spotted the altered tin/box thread so I'll post on there from now on, thanks again for the help Jane
