Details
Each participant cuts out 4 sets of alphabets for each person in the group.

Then will receive back 9 sets (x4) of a different alphabet. Alphabet to be cut out of card-stock - colours to be decided by mutual agreement.

Each set then to be placed in a small bag with the name of the alphabet on it eg: Sizzix Ransom.
Send them to Sonja, who will send them to the rest of the group. Each group will consist of 10 people, initially one group but if enough want to take part will extend to maximum of 3 groups.

Completion By:
Send by 14 March, for swapping as soon as possible after this.

i am in as well girls- only one alpha until i get to states later this year! QK but not sure what it is- think it is Phoebe? will try and find example on a LO or do QK have on them what they are? it is 2 letters perdie so will double up my cutting to make it fair to those with larger letters.

I think Sonja mentioned it would be a good idea to do them in white/cream so that people could then ink/chalk them to match LO's etc.

What are people doing with fonts that have an U/C, L/C and a shadow??

The one im doing is playground and i was going to do 2 UC and 2LC without the shadows as i will use loads of card and will take me ages - is this fair or as my font does have a shadow shall i be doing it with that??

Sorry not been online - the baby i look after had a tummy bug yesterday (not going into too many details... <_< ) But not been well myself, had to cancel Brownies last night and took to my bed. Slowly getting my land legs back and getting the urge to eat.
It would be best for the alphabets to be cut our of white or cream - unless any specific requests from group members? If you have a glut of colour in your stash - why not post and see if anyone wants that colour. I think in the case of an alphabet such as sizzlets which has both UC and LC on the die - I am not sure of the way to go about it. What is the general opinion? I would have thought that 2 UC and 2 LC making a TOTAL of four alphabets per person?
I will check and see if anyone ahs any ideas on this....

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what sort of cardstock should we be cutting letters out of? Are people using bazzill, or just plain 160gsm card that comes in large packs???

I have had a think about the quantities
To be fair - if you are using a font that has a shadow to it - such as playground then cut 2UC and 2LC, the rest will then be FOUR COMPLETE SETS, with maybe some extra vowels thrown in for good measure. Does this make sense and is it fair?
I am using the paper cellar card (acid free).
I am not stressing out too much - thank you. Just my tummy has been a bit offside, and because I have not drunk as much as I should (frightened of being sick!) I have the mother of all headaches...going to try a bowl of porridge now.

Hi Sonja - really hoping you feel better soon , you take care. I will be using acid free cardstock but it wont all necessarily be Bazzill, will definately be acid free though. What I will do, if its OK with everyone , is PM those in my group within the next few days and ask how they want their sets - upper or lower case or a mixture and also colours , am happy to cut specific colours as have a HUGE pile of cardstock !!

I think punctuation is a good idea and it doesn't take up a lot of card.

I have white card but also lots of colours so once I get decision on what font I am doing from Sonja I can begin. It's a choice between sizzlits Classic or Wet Paint. I think we decided on Classic but I just want to know for sure.

Okay group one - just checked my font and it is paige not phobe. As it has two letters per die I will do 8 letters of each for you which will equate to 26x4 cuts for each person. I have got to L cutting in white four times so rest of alpha and another 4 cuts to do. So hope white okay for most of you 9. I do have light brown or black should you prefer - pm me if white not for you!

I am happy with white but if you have any other colours happy for a surprize!

I started to cut some last night - the alpahs I bought off marketplace and did not realise they where brand new ( got a good bargain there then..) - had to rub off all the excess rubbery stuff as they where not cutting properly - all sorted now I think...but got a bag full of dodgy cuts!!

I have just worked out that if I am careful, I can get 40 letters from a sheet of 12x12 paper...so 4 sets for 10 people of 26 letters means I need 26 sheets of card...eek, better go order some.

I didnt think to ask what colours everyone wanted. I have nearly cut all mine out, all white and acid free. I thought with white it would be easier to colour white card instead of any other. hope no one minds. If anyone in group 3 really really wants a different colour than white then let me know and i'll see what i can do. Although i'm not sure how much longer my back can last so might be a case of being nice to OH for a few days and asking him to do it. lol

Thank you ladies, I feel a bit less stressed now. I have completed 7 with punctuation but will go back and do the extra vowels before I start another one - had forgotten about that bit.

Can I just clarify I am doing this right? Is it 4 upper and 4 lower case alphabets or just 4 alphabets combining upper and lower? Would hate to do too little and let folk down, or do too much if I don't need to. Sorry if that sounds a bit dim :unsure:

Waves to Group 3, so far I have worked out that Caroline O wants 1 black and 3 white and chantal wants white or cream.

Can anyone else let me know what they would like. Easy way to choose is look on www.stampgalaxy.co.uk (sponsor) and choose the colours you would like. Don't worry if you want something different, as I have loads and loads of personal stash to work my way through in all colours.

I am having a terrible time cutting these alphas-my Qk has developed a mind of its own and, to make matters even worse, the carstock that I thought I had plenty of to do all the alphas has run out!

I started cutting the alphas by doing 9 sets of "A"s and then the bs etc etc. So I got half way through all the alphas before running out. I went back to the shop to get some more card and they have sold out! I bought some more white card that is the same weight but it is a slightly different tone of white. However when you hold the letters against each other it barely notices, and if people are going to chalk/ink them it will not show at all. I really cannot bare the thought of starting again....

Does anyone mind if the alphas are slightly different shades of white-it really does hardly notice....

To be honest... I don't mind at all. Even if we keep them white, they will be all mixed up, so not noticeable. DO NOT START AGAIN FOR ME.... It would be madness (says she with 3 sets still to do!!)

Chantal, i'm in same group as you. Please dont start again, its mad if you do. When we use them, if they look a different colour on a LO then we can colour them ourselves. I prob wont have any that are white on a LO anyway, i'll prob colour mine to match my papers etc. I have finished mine and i know what hard work it was and i would hate to think of you having to start all over again. x

Thank you both! That makes me feel much better! I am going to try and finish one alpha per night now-each set has extra random letters as my QK is being rather odd and not cutting all letters properly so rather than keeping odd extra letters I am chucking them in the baggies, so everyone will have 4 alphas plus extras!

Same here Chantal, some slight varation in shading of the card and as some of the letters misbehaved, I put them in and added extra, so if you get some mis-cuts. But you will still get the full 4 sets.

Group two ladies......there could possibly be a delay on the delivery of your alphas. Unfortunately one member has had to drop out due to health problems. I have managed to find a replacement and she will be cutting min Marrissa (lower). Hope you are all okay with this. Has any one any particular requests to colours or are you happy for this to be done in white/cream??
