Help - Need A New Cj ...

... my first one is finished and home safely and am desperate to start another - anyone considering hosting a CJ group? Can't do pets, boys/sons or pink but am open to other considerations. Thanks.

Why not host your own, then you get to choose the theme?
One of mine is coming to an end soon, so depending on the theme I might be interested in another if there is a reasonable lead in period for signups and first posting date.

I am interested in joining another cj i have had three all finish at the same time. cant think of a theme though!

I am happy to host one if we can get enough people involved and wanting to do a cj. Thats of course if you did not want to host it yourself heather. either way i would love to do another

I've never done a CJ (yes - I know I've been a member for nearly 3 years....;)) but I'd actually love to do one this year. Of course I'm now in Canada which would make it a bit more interesting - wonder if any other 'foreigners' would like to do one ??

Yummy Mummy, I'd gladly take up your offer to host - am hosting my first ever swap. Annie's idea of an "open" theme sounds good too. Have even got a theme for mine - thanks Moggywoman! :D We did that with my last group. Please, please host and remember to add me to the list :wub: :wub: :wub:

Don't want to stick my oar in but you've said you're new - have you completed your first CJ? Just in case someone pulls you up - until you've completed your first one, you can't join any more. Hope you take this in the spirit it's given - as helpful advice :) .

ok we need to agree on posting dates, is everyone ok with 3weeks between postings? Also looking at the 28th feb as the first posting date, so it gives us 5 weeks to make and decorate our journals. please can you all let me know asap so we can get a thread started.

it doesn't really matter as some CJ's have the same theme but everne interprets it differently

Paula...everybody has their own style etc...so if it comes to that.It wouldn't be a big problem.
I did my first one in a team cj.....mine was poetry.Others had fav movies,what makes you smile.

You're not being thick at all. If you don't ask ... Helen was saying that she'd done one like that - mine is not going to be like that at all. It's been suggested that we have a "Whatever CJ" - people do all different themes - the one I've just finished had CJs that included "Flowers"; "Castles and Stately Homes"; "Canines and Felines"; "Things I said I'd Never Do" - the list is endless - another group I was in did "Christmas Traditions"; "If I were An Animal I'd Be A .."; "Colours of the Rainbow". You pick what you want yours to be about and ask everyone to do a bit on that.

I like that theme Paula, some one did that in a digital CJ i ave just been in and the ideas that were done for that were brilliant - as it was a digi CJ we all got to see everyones entries each time

I know that Lily hasn't been well and i also sent a swap request around the same time as you sent the approval for the cj and I haven't heard anything yet - i haven't any idea as to how long it takes for the approval to come through - do you?

i want to host a tag swap but don't want to jinx it until i hear from Lily - never hosted anything before but i suppose we all have to start somewhere!!!

Ladies, am doing my first "hosting" - don't want to jinx it but seems to be ok so far. :unsure: Lily has been quite unwell and am not sure how often she's getting to a computer because of that so would be patient. She'll get around to it. Am going to a 10 hour crop in a couple of weeks so am going to get my covers done for then and work on my instructions/LO.

The last one I did was in a sealed poly bag inside a large jiffy and we sent it recorded every time so it didn't go off on a wander - one of the ladies in one of the other groups (there were 4) didn't do that and someone else's CJ disappeared off into the ether. Can we ask that everyone in our group sends recorded?

i agree that each cj should be in a plastic bag then in a jiffy bag and send recorded delivery. I think i requested that for lily to put on the cj instructions. Hopefully we will hear from her soon.

DH has been told that he is taking that day off! Although he said he may be taking a weeks hols that week! Even better.
He's feeling guilty at the moment...he's working 12days at the mo.Yesterday he went to work at 6am didn't get home till 9pm.
Making him feel guilty enough over the next few weeks should be really easy! :lol:

Shame i can't make the weekend too,heather.I think once owen is at school i will be thinking of all these nice retreats and wee mini hols to go on! :lol:
May even go to one or two. :lol: :lol:
