paint cans

I was thinking of altering a paint can for a present for someone but im on a very tight budget. This is probably the silliest question ever, but can i use any empty paint can or do i have to buy one specifically from a craft shop for some reason im not seeing. sorry if its a really silly question!

lisa i sell empty paint cans in different sizes:)

i suppose you could use an empty one but you would have to spend a while cleaning it first
