Happy New Year everyone :D
Here is the Inky fingers Challenge (Jan thur 5th- wed 11th)

We thought it would be good to scrap your highlights of 2005, and start the scrapping new year with some positivity :)
We also wanted to use up some of our "old" stash..those embelishments and papers you've had for a while now and wondered what to do with..well this is your chance to get them *collaged on a LO...or two ;) You even have the chance to re-cycle or use a **found object

THEME: Highlights of 2005 = 10 points
STYLE: Black and white/very very colourful photos =10 points
TECHNIQUE: Recycle an item/Use a found item = 5 points
Collage (chance to use up some old stash) = 5points

*Collage (From the French, coller, to stick) is the assemblage of different forms creating a new whole.

For example, an artistic collage work may include newspaper clippings, ribbons, bits of colored or hand-made papers, photographs, etc., glued to a solid support or canvas.
http://www.tracyroos.com/collages.htm

**The term, found art, or more commonly, found object (French: objet trouvé) describes art created from common objects that are not normally considered art.

Found art derives significance from the context into which it is placed, thus blurring the traditional distinction of what is art, and what is not art, and challenges the nature of art. Many contemporary artists use found objects in their art. A few are,

Arman
Joseph Cornell
Tony Cragg
Mark Divo
Salvador Dalí
Marcel Duchamp
Glenn
David Mach
Cornelia Parker
Giuseppe Penone
Pablo Picasso
Robert Rauschenberg
Daniel Spoerri
Kurt Schwitters

We hope you are inspired to do our challenge and have included the following paper and digi LO as examples

Paper LO by Kerry (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=59582&cat=500) This includes some great use of re-cycled/found items
Digi LO by Sally (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=59584&cat=500&ppuser=4780)

Good luck, enjoy and thanks for taking the Inky fingers cahllenge:D

Wat a wonderful challenge, had a lot of highlights in 2005, DS got engaged, DD was a bridesmaid for her friend, I was 50, went to Bonanza, met a wonderful group of girls in the Wirral crop, all I have to do now is think how to do a LO to incorporate the lot!!!!

Will have a go at the weekend.

Just wanted to say to anyone who is a bit nervous about trying collage for the first time, don't be, I'd never tried it before and had to ask Sally what it was! But when I actually started it I really enjoyed myself, which I suppose is what a challenge is about!

If you need some inspiration for this challenge, have a look at Ali Edward's blog (http://aliedwards.typepad.com/), and the Lo she did showing highlights of her year, and recycled Christmas cards, all in a collage it is so fab. I really must scraplift it.

So you have 'til Wednesday, but I think points can still count for a week or two after if I remember correctly. :)

Just put a 'paper' based version on the gallery, so now there is one digital and one paper .... do I get points for each(60 altogether) or is 30 the limit?

I've just posted my first Challenge LO, I only joined a team this week. I'd be grateful if someone can check that I have followed the rules. I just did one highlight of the year, hope that's OK.
I really enjoyed this challenge, especially having to think of what to recycle.

This is a quote from the Team FAQs -
"Each week on a Thursday a challenge will be set by one of the participating teams. You can do as many layouts as you wish using the challenge details but you will only get your bonus points ONCE - so each week you can earn a MAXIMUM of 30 bonus points."

But as I understand it, these are bonus points - you also get the normal 10 points for a layout. So for 2 challenge LOs you would get 30 bonus + 10 for each LO = 50.

Someone jump on me quick please if I'm wrong!
