Thanks they are about 2ins from a kiddies set :)

I find it easier to draw around them in pencil cut then stick as if you stick then cut it is harder

You could use the sissix jigsaw die :)
It is 6 pieces but a bit smaller :)

That would work better - instant result. Then leave it with our hostess. To end up with one each would be a lotta lotta organising....

I think I just died and gone to heaven!!! Those are scrumptious pieces all of them! I only used my Jigsaws for Minibooks (and to toot my horn here....sorry I can't resist: but my Blitzen Jigsaw Minibook was actualy requested by Basic Grey to be a feature in their last Newsletter....<toot over>)

I would love to participate in a Jigsaw swap, that sounds like total fun

Nura - what a fantastic gift, you must have been thrilled to receive that.

It's given me an idea - I have two 50th birthdays coming up next month! Off to the charity shop today to see if I can pick up a couple of board jigsaws.

You use Ultra thick embossing powder in and then pour, you can dip into it for eg to put around slides al la Sir Tim, you can keep water at temp for friendly plastic.

I think would be good for jigsaws to glaze or use Ultra thick on with beads etc. you can also fill moulds etc

I WANT ONE NOW - my latest must have! DH for my birthday could i have.....

If yes, ideas for the ground rules please and then I'll pm the mods for permission. Did they allocated Altered mods yet?

I think Laura and Linda are going to be mods but are waiting for it all to be sorted. When it is I will go back to them, but I think all the mods are very busy people so I don't want to hassle them. I will post on this thread if I hear anything.

I'm very new to this so please tell me if this is really, really stupid .....is there any way we could all have the same jigsaw to alter? That way when we get the pieces back ..from totally different sets ....they might even fit together!! Does that make any sense at all? People who wanted to could still use them individually but it would be rather nice to have a complete one made up of other peoples contributions.

LME
07-01-2006, 06:36 PM
Ali if you want to do this I can cut some sissix jigsaws :)

Laura offered to oversee swaps with some help, I am happy to help too if I can although I dont know much about how they run.
I told Mary Anne that I would mod swaps on alerted art so that Lily doesnt get any more work, she has enough to do with the other ones.
We just need some rules/guidelines I suppose

Ladies having followed this with a great degree of I WANT one of these I popped to my local RANGE shop in Leeds today looking for a suitable cheap jigsaw. They are doing 8 in one box 9 piece jigsaws for £2 - so 25p for one jigsaw. Think these would be ideal to send out to those who are doing the pieces for your jigsaw.

what you all think?

could do a team of 10 people with one person sending out a piece to each of the other people for returning? you would then have to do 9 pieces for your different swapsees so if would all fit back together when you got it back.

Just an idea?

Jay
07-01-2006, 11:19 PM
Wow Helen, that sounds like a great idea.

Ali you decide what you want to do and ask if you need help

helenpp

Ali

If you want me to help with co - ordinating sening out jigsaw pievces I can do.

What I could do is

get all addresses from you
send out jigsaw pieces to participants
get pieces sent back to me with 2 first class stamps for me which would cover my Jigsaw purchase plus the original posting, plus extra posting for returning.
I could then sort out and send back out.

Do not want to take over and have a holiday planned in Feb but happy to help to get things moving!

Offers there.

Alternative is I could buy some jigsaws and send to you to do with people sending you stamps to send to me to cover cost!

AM I over complicating this?

I think Helen's plan sounds great.....if it happens can I be counted in, please.

Helen, do you think those jigsaws (8x9 piece = £2) sould be in other Range outlets? We have one in Colchester so I might have a look.

AliTS
08-01-2006, 08:54 PM
Helen, what you are proposing sounds like a fab idea - I'd love to join - why don't you host this - I think probably about the right number of people have signed up, or we could have 2 groups. Do you want to run with it?

If not I'll happily help or host, but if you want to go for it do and I'll perhaps do a different kind another time.

Let me know what you think and then I think Jane is the mod so we could ask her for approval.

helenpp
09-01-2006, 06:47 AM
Oh thanks for the encouragement you guys - never hosted anything before so sense of trepidation as would hate for it to go wrong! Thanks Ali I WOULD NEED help!

I think other Range shops should have them in - they were in the kids crafty section with board books etc ( which are worth looking at as well as can be a cheap as 49p).

I will look at drafting the swap request then - do we keep it in here or on the main swap thread?

will post in here progress but load of work on next couple of days.

This forums a bad influence on me  First I attack the cd off my DH magazine after reading the altered CD thread, then I'm eyeing up the overflowing bookcase for a book to try an altered book on, now I'm rooting through DDs toyboxes for a jigsaw she's not bothered with!

DH doesn't 'get' it at all  Men!!

Apprehensive?? More like about scared stiff!!! 9 different themes is very challenging especially when you look at some and think "oh oh, how am I gonna do that?"
In a weird way I thrive on that pressure
