~~*~~Happy New Year~~*~~
CLASS DETAILS
We will be making a 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" Star Book. I am thinking along the lines of a Valentines/Lurvvvv theme in time for Feb 14th - but as always, this isnt hard and fast and can be adapted to suit your personal requirements.
Cardstock and Papers will be provided, along with a selection of embellishments, but if you have favourite's that you like to use, then bring those along.
You might find it easier to bring along Photographs (if using) as it is better to decorate the pages before they are actually stuck in the book, so your book will actually consist of: (you might want to consider this when deciding on how many photos to put in)
Front and Back covers on the outsides
10 pages of about 4" high x 3" wide approx.
Index size pictures would work great on this.
Or you could just use 'Love' phrases as we did last year. If I can, I'll print some more out for you to choose from but again, if you have any, then bring them along. *** I am not having much luck in Printing off any phrases - running out of time and printer ink - if you have any that you might want to use, make sure you bring them tomorrow :D :D ***
We will probably start this as soon as everyone has arrived.
Any questions please ask.
:D :D
First crop of 2006 is on January 28th at Wyverstone Village Hall from 9.30 onwards.
Hope everyone can make it, although I know that Lorraine, Vanessa and Jennie will all be winging their way to LA for the trade show, looking for superb stuff to bring back to entice us all to spend, spend, spend in February! :o so unfortunatley we wont have a shop to browse this month.
If you can let me know if you will be coming, we'll start our list :D
Lunch and Supper as usual :D
I am sorting out a class - was thinking of a Star Book :D Might be useful as a Valentine gift?
Will confirm price and details when Ive worked it all out :D
So.... who will be coming?

21-01-2006, 05:51 PM
I think you will be really suprised at how cheap it is Cherry ..real value for money..the cost usually includes lunch of a baked potatoe and salad ( might even include supper..not sure as i can never stay :()
looking forward to meeting lots of new people :)
Janice
21-01-2006, 06:14 PM
Hello Cherry and NIkki :D
The cost is £6 and Sue is right, that includes your lunch AND supper, and of course your cropping fee. The Star Book kit is extra. Havent worked out the price yet, but not more than say £4 (about) - ish, :D Trying to cover all angles there!
Lunch is :
Jacket potato with filling. We usually have Tuna/Sweetcorn/Mayo, Cheese, Coleslaw and Baked Beans and a salad on the side :D We do it buffet style so you just help yourself to any or all - we just ask everyone to be mindful that the food has to go around all of us. :D Sue brings rolls and or bread too.
Supper is normally either Tomato, Chicken or Vegetable Soup with rolls, and if they are on offer, Quiche :D
Tea and Coffee and Hot Chocolate is also included.
Supper is normally around 7ish.
We have a rota system worked out - so everyone takes a turn in 'cooking' and getting the food ready, one rota for lunch, another for supper. All we ask is that you do your own washing up so nobody is up to their elbows in washing up liquid :D
We have a tool table - there is no charge for this, but we ask again, that they are treated with respect. All the tools are my own personal tools except the QK.
I also bring all my stamps and punches for anyone to use.
We normally have a shop visit (either Venessa or Lorraine) but they will be swanning off to LA :D :D so I might bring some of my remaining bits from Wiggly Woods to see if anyone wants anything.
ermmmmm - think that is it.
We are normally full - but have spaces because of the girls trip - if you wanted to come regular, we need to make sure everyone has enough space so can check out tables etc on Saturday :D

Very cheap this time...no extra money needed then........i'll just get excited about the "stuff" they bring back for the shop(s) next time LOL
suffolkscrapper
21-01-2006, 06:37 PM
That sounds fab janice - and yes i would love to become a regular if there is space - count me in for jacket potato definately :D also - when you have time could you let me know the sizes and number of pages in the star book? just so i know what sort of piccies to bring :D hope thats not too demanding of me lol!

Oh my goodness lorraine - isnt it enough that we "have" to buy the kits and "have" to buy the add ons lol - do you have to tempt us with more goodies lol - of course when I say "have" to I realise that you arent standing beside me whilst im on the pc with a gun against my head - perhaps there is some sublimable (sp?) advertising going on somewhere lol!

Just letting you know I am just updating the first post with details of requirements for the class :D :D :D
Not long now :D
Janice
25-01-2006, 01:30 PM
I am still trying to get some extra bits for the Kits so cant give the cost just yet, but it will definitely not be any more than £5. Likely to be around £4, just depends on how much I fancy at the wholesalers :D :D :D
Really looking forward to Saturday - are you??????
Janice
25-01-2006, 01:49 PM
A link to some Star Books I made as Christmas Gifts is here (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=59114) in case you are not certain what they look like.
This gives you some idea of how you could decorate with pictures, although our book on Saturday will be more square and a bit smaller at 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" :D
I made 5 of these as gifts and was overwhelmed by the response I got from my sisters in law and Mum in law.

I am getting worried - Ive answered myself four times now!!!!!!!!!
Thought I would mention that I think my Sizzix is broken! Have no idea what is wrong, the handle has gone 'limp' and it has not guts behind it anymore. Bit miffed cos Ive hardly used it, although have had it for a while now.
If anyone was wanting to use the Sizzix then hopefully Stevie, Sue or Jacqui might bring theirs.
I'll have to keep an eye for a second hand one - if anyone hears, let me know please.

Hi Shirley - that is very kind of you :D I didnt have anything specific in mind and Ive havent had a chance to surf to find anything suitable. All we did last year was little phrases with a love meaning. In fact I might have some left from last year, so we could use them. I will try and sort something out - if not I am sure we'll manage somehow, but thank you anyway :D
I would like to start the class once everyone has arrived so that anyone that is leaving before Supper may get the chance to finish the project :D Probably about 11 ish :D

It was a great day Saturday girls - thanks for all making it a wonderful event :)
I am looking forward to February's crop already and will make a new thread now. I HOPE to be a bit more advanced now and will sort the class page out in the next week or so, so that you can all be prepared :D
Glad you liked the star book - can we all see what you did? Can you post them in the new thread? I'll get mine photo'd and added as soon as its 'finished;. Just a couple of bits to add.
Lunch was fab, thanks Julie, Jacqui and Ange - and Supper was as enjoyable as ever, thanks to Eileen and Stevie.
