If you are going to be away or unable to post on the given date, please let me or Tracy (winterbaby) know via a PM or let whoever needs to know so either they are not waiting for the CJ to arrive, or they know not to post to you if you are not going to be there.

Your welcome Kathryn ;) :) Hi everyone :D I'm waiting for my pet bits & bobs to come through the post so I can finish decorating my cj, one question I have to ask, is everyone in this group doing paper bag book cj's or using something else as a cj?? please post in this thread to say what you are using thank you. I am using a paper bag book with enough pages for everyone to do a double page layout and the size of it is about 6x6.

I'm using a Sara book 7x4 I think it is, it's the rectangle one anyway. Theres enough pages for everyone to do a double Lo.
I'm getting another CJ finished first that needs posting this next week then I'll be doing my Lo, that's all that needs doing on mine.

Thanks Tinah :) I also thought it might be a great idea to make a note of what size cj each of us is doing just in case of any such delays as holidays or not being able to get to the post office to post on each posting day that sort of thing, then we can actually work on our layouts to what ever size cj your getting next and have it ready to be stuck onto the pages of the delayed cj when they get to us and then send onto the person your posting to. I've learnt this from past cj's I've been in so I wouldn't be rushing at the last minute and making loads of mistakes. Any questions don't hesitate to ask ;) :)

Mine's a paperbag book too and I've just measured the page. The workable area turns out to be approx 5x5, maybe slightly smaller at 4 3/4's x 5 (does that make sense to you???). It's ribon bound so can be taken apart if it needs to be. I've just to finish my sign in's and I'm ready to post. I've only doen one before - my team cj, so I'm a bit anxious about taking the plunge into the big pond :D

edited to add I've made enough pages for dlo's and added extra just in case :D

Tracy.... what sort of pets do you like? We don't have any - unless you want to count 8 children :lol:

I like to know about any sort of pet really...cept snakes and spiders...ooooooooo, sorry folks just can't even manage to look at them with out shivvvvvvvvvering :lol: :D If you don't have any pets then maybe you could choose what sort of pet you think you would like and then create your layouts from that. I have a dog called TJ and I'll be including a layout of my, now deceased, cat Smokey who only lived to be two years old, He was like my best friend at the time, almost as if he understood me at times, I still get a bit teary when I think of him often. I also like gold fish, rabbits and domesticated rats...yes you heard me correctly rats :) I had a rat called Tipsy and he was most definetly true to his name, but he passed on about 6 years ago now and not because he got a lttle too tipsy, just age, he's greatly missed by the whole family. We are really big on pets, we love em. Hope this helps ;) :)

Yes it does, thanks Tracy. I had a spaniel when I was little and would love a dog, but it's not possible with my household. Risks of allergies and no time to care for a pet. One of my foster kids has a budgie now I think about it. It's in his room but I never go in there!! (he's 19... enough said?)
I'll have a think about spaniels maybe.

:) No pressure, also if you don't have pets there is always information on the internet that you could use and would probably have pictures of pets you could use instead as I'm not looking for dedicated pet owners, I know that maybe some of you might not have pets so even if you gather info with or without pictures from the internet or even pet magazines is good enough for me ;) :)

yep. mine is done too and like you I'm quite pleased with it too.
I've finally got around to measure my journal and it's 6" x 8" if I remember correct.

I'm really looking forward to to seing all the paperbag books. I've wanted to make one of those for ages but even with looking at the instructions and photos I'm none the wiser as how they are done. So it will be really nice to see one IRL. :)

Hi all :) My appologise also for lateness of this new amendment but we had to wait just in case Nadine did get back in touch with Kathryn. Our new cj member will be Helen aka Pbear. I know her from the Toe In The Water Pacific Group cj round and we've just finished and she was keen to join another cj round. I PM'd her late last night to let her know that she has the go ahead, so if she got my message then she will be thinking of a theme and working on putting her cj together hopefully in time for 1st posting date. once again We appologise for any disruption caused.

Okay - have had a think and the theme to my cj is "favourite scrapping techniques". I hope this will be fun for everyone to do - and I've had a look through my stash and found a 5x5 sarabook. The workable area is about 4.75x4.75". If this is too small for anyone could you let me know asap, as I'd like to make a start on it tonight. The plus side for working small is that it won't be so expensive to post and won't take as much strokeable stash as the bigger ones, so I hope it'll be ok with you!

Just to let you know that I've now made my journal, done the sign in page and all I have to do is my own lo now, so will definately be ready to post on Saturday.
This is going to be such fun - they're all really good themes!
Do you all plan in advance or wait to see what arrives and then plan around that?

I might have some ideas in my head about themes but I never plan in advance what my LO is going to look like. Except for my entry in another Cj which was due around the time my son was due. I had everything ready just to stick in because I did not want to hold up anything.

I prefer to wait, that way you know what the person's style is like.

I like to wait too, but only work layouts in advance ready to stick onto cj's if I think I'm going to have to post early for some reason, like holidays or appointments, that sort of thing :)

I don't really plan in advance as I'm always quite nervous about making a mess of someone else's book :blink:, but I do think a lot about what the next topic is and try to imagine what I'd like to have if it were mine... does that make sense or am I waffling???:D

Makes perfect sense to me Michelle - I always worry that the owner of the cj won't like my pages - so try to imagine what I'd like! Then I worry that their taste isn't the same and the worry goes on and on ...........

tinah, have you pm'd Karen to get her to check with the PO as all recorded parcels are logged? It shouldn't go missing when sent recorded which is why we all pay the extra for the insurance.
I'm sure there is a good reason for the delay.

Hi all, Tinah just like Sarah has said PM Karen and get her to go on the Royal Mail website and type in the recorded delivery number in the tracking bar and that should tell her where it is at the moment and get her to let you know where it is ok. Let me or Kathryn know if you have not heard anything from Karen yet and either one of us will find out if there is anything wrong ok ;) :)

Hope you had a good holiday. The next posting date is the 4th March. I'll try to pop something on to the first page this weekend, but have been away myself for half term and then in London for the inventors show and am trying to frantically catch up with sorting the house out, being back at work, seeing my husband and children and sleep! To help you till I can, the word document at the beginning of the thread is pretty much correct, although I know some people posted early this time. I'm assuming you have My Favourite Photograph to post and will receive Things you have always wanted to do. Hope that helps for now.

Hi All :) Is everyone posting 1st class recorded delivery? if not would it be possible if you could please as sending 1st class recorded assures next day or the following day delivery and so posting here to say that a cj has arrived safe and sound is a positive and not only that, it also means that everyone's hard work in a person's cj will be covered for loss or damage, hopefully this won't happen. I know it means paying abit extra but all the care and attention we each put into one anothers cj's and seeing this care and attention when we get them back at the end is worth it I think. I mean to cause no affence by this, it's just a suggestion on the side of time for each completion date ;) :)

girls i appolgise for holding u all up this last week as been really bad 1st of all we have all had this horrible bug .
on top of this my friend/work college as been fighting cancer since dec she has children 5 to 17yrs old. so ive been busy but sadly sunday night she passed away so my mind as been all over the place.

What a dreadful thing to happen. I've been there 2 years ago when a very good friend of mine lost her fight, leaving 4 children under 12. It's a horrid thing to go through, so I sympathise completely. Hope you're ok x

Thats ok Helen :) Michele there is something wrong with my printer, it keeps printing the picture of my fav. Happy Hour cocktail out in a pinky red colour, will get DH to try and sort it out for me. If it was any of the inks running low I could understand that and change them but our ink light isn't flashing for a change of inks :blink: sorry, will deffinetly post on Saturday if I don't get my picture printed in time for tomorrow ;) :)

its no problem ive finished the both cjs and there packed ready to go its just getting to the po to post them. i dont seem to get 5 mins to my self
jennys children was 6-10-12-14- and 17 so ive been trying to do 2 different school runs do my dinner lady job sort out my family.

Hi all, While I try to remain neutral not only as a member of this cj group but also as keeper of this whole thread, can I suggest that in future we become a little more patient and understanding and a lot less thoughtless in what we type out in our post's, as words can hurt, even typed words. I don't wish to seem as though I'm singeling anyone out, but please, know this, life is hard and we should allready be taking this on board when we sign up for cj rounds.
I've always believed that UKScrappers ment encouragement and a fun place to visit and chat with like minded scrappers and crafters, we're not ment to make anyone feel bad that they'd rather not log on unless they have to. I feel sadend about having to post this but I felt that now and then we have to remind ourselves to show more care :( truely sorry.

As organiser of this CJ I am sorting out any issues that have come up. I realise that it is worrying if you are not sure where your CJ is or that there are gaps and that we all have agreed to taking part in the CJ by looking at the posting and completion dates but I am not just sitting here not communicating regarding late postings. I do talk to people away from the boards as I feel that there are times when the sorting out does not need to be public. Please have faith in me and let me do this my way. If there is anything that needs to be told to the group it will be told, believe me. Thank you for your patience with this.

When I went on the boards today I had NO intention of offending anyone. All I did was ask the question and voice the concerns that had been going around via personal message for the last 4 weeks or so. At our ages, most of us have suffered a personal loss of a close family member or friend and with all our best wishes sent to her, I am in no doubt that Karen knows we are all feeling for her. I am not as cold as I have been made out to be.
Karen is right when she states that cj's are not top of her list at present. Let's face it, sticking bits of coloured paper in other peoples books shouldn't be the top of anyones list in the busy lives we all lead. I do it for fun but this is no longer fun. With this in mind and reviewing my own situation, I am leaving this group. You don't want people hurting with words Tracy but you did. This is the last you will hear from me.

I don't see why anyone should go. There is still plenty of time for this CJ to get back on track. I only know of the Pms that have been sent to me and mine to other people who were affected and I think that saying that they have been going around for 4 weeks is not true in my case. It is difficult for me as leader as obviously I want you all to feel comfortable about being in the group. I wish that there was something I could do to solve the issues for everybody.

Right as the one who has been most affected by Karen not sending on on time I think I've got to add my few words to this debate.Then hopefully we can all move on.:)
Sarah please don't leave the Cj just because of a post that you made, there was nothing wrong with it :) just the same that Tracy as host of this group should remind us to think before we post anything that might upset others. With this in mind I didn't post last night but waited until this morning when I could do my best thinking e.g while walking the dogs at 6 this morning. :rolleyes: :D
Karen I understand all you have gone through this last few weeks but by saying you were going to post,at least 4 times from memory and then not posting the CJ's I've not known if i'm coming or going. I've been waiting for a CJ that hasn't turned up and then had to worry that it has got lost in our great postal system. If you'd have let me and Tracy know sooner about your friend I'm sure alot of this upset could have been avoided.:)
If this was the only CJ I was in then it wouldn't be so bad but I'm in another CJ with another starting this month. On top of that i also do cross stitch round robins of which until this weekend when I managed to finish one I was in 4 all having deadlines that needed to be kept to.By the weekend I should have another one completed so that will be another one not to worry about.:D
So with you not sending on time I now have the possibilty of having 5 CJ's and 2 RR's here all at the same time and all needing posting on a set date. I'm sure you can see why it is important to keep to dates?
Hopefully we can put this all behind us and get back ontrack soon and if anyone can't post on time please let the host and whoever you are sending to know. Communication is the important thing to remember when you don't see your fellow CJ's face to face.
In finishing I haven't put anything here that I've not said in PM's and nothing i've written I wouldn't be happy to say to anyones face. I've thought long and hard about what I've written and the way I've said it and i hope no one is affended by what i've said.
