Kathryn, would it be possible for you to add the CJ titles/themes to the list please, I find it easier to workout where I'm up to.

I better start making my CJ now, time really is flying.

So, being a CJ newbie here, do we have to wait until the postie date or is that a 'latest by' date. I mean, if you get yours ready earlier, can you post on before the date?

You can post earlier, but best to check with Sara-Jane that it is ok for her to receive earlier. The latest date you should post by is the posting date - but obviously life can get in the way. So long as you keep people up to date with what you are doing there will be no problems.

Sorry Kathryn, I didn't realise how much work that would actully cause you! but thanks anyway - perhaps we could also have them on the first post on this thread.......she asks running as fast as she can :D.

You'll be glad to know I'm back to work tomorrow, so will have a job keeping up with posts and won't have time to make any more requests like this .

I'll sort it out tomorrow - I'm afraid my hands are cramping up from all the e-mails and tables and I must go to bed - we have a Veture sitting tomorrow morning and I know they are good at manipulating the phots but I don't want black circles under my eyes!

 I suggested that Suzy asked you as she is posting to you! Didn't want to say it would be ok without you saying so!

Simon went to the warehouse today to get me some more bags (I sent out all the last lot! ) and he is out tonight, so am hoping to get at least the front done tonight. Having said that, I am now tempted to make an envelope book instead, having been inspired by a book all about journals!

The one I have seen uses a front and back cover and then a concertinered (sp?) piece of paper in between the covers. The envelopes are then stuck in the 'dips' of the concertinas to create the pages. You can put tags in the openings of the envelopes, like the paper bag books. Hope that makes sense!

Gonig to get started on my CJ this week...my theme is favourite techniques for cardmaking / scrapbooking.

It is probably going to be a 6 x 6 mini book....will decide when I get round to doing it....always on the last minute with things....I am hoping this will kick me into gear a little.

Speak soon

Evening all - happy New Year

Suzy, did you notice you are near your 1000th post?

So abit about me.

Hello, my name's Anna, and I'm an alcoholic - opps sorry, should read scrapaholic :)

I live in Berkshire, have 3 boys, 9, 8 and 2. At the moment at stay at home mum, I was made redundant whilst on maternity leave, and actually it suited me fine.

Haven't made my CJ yet, I'm waiting for the boys to go back to school so I should get some peace - once I get the house back to some semblence or order!

Hope everyone else is having fun making their books...I have to finish my layout, then I am ready to post!!!

We're a very quiet group aren't we!

A little about me, I'm Louise and live in Bolton with my Husband and 6 year old daughter. I work full time, so don't fit in a great deal of scrapping, but love making paper bag books, I have just discovered ATCs and and nearing the end of my first CJ (I'm waiting for its return next week).

I have just realised there isn't a theme up for me, I was originally going to do new techniques, but I see there is already another techniques CJ in our group and I was a little unsure about it anyway so I'm going to have a rethink and post a theme later.

Do we have any foreign posts in our group? I haven't made my CJ yet and I'm trying to decide whether to use the paper bags Katie kindly sent or whether to make my CJ from an artists pad I have. If anyone has to post abroad I'll go with the Paper bags.

Be back later with a theme.

Hi Louise,
Sorry about the mix up with the themes. If you want to do new techniques feel free. I know I have more than 2 things I would like to try!
I am posting to Lori in the USA, but don't worry about the CJ weight. If it seems REALLY heavy I can always send it either without the covers (if the owner doesn't mind), or send just the pages for Lori and photo the others so Lori can see them - we'll work around it. I am just in the process of doing mine and it seems heavy to me! I'll let you all know how much it costs to send mine. I am hoping to complete my pages pretty quickly so I can post early to Lori in case air mail takes a little longer than we anticipate.

Kathryn :)

I'll share a little about me then too.
I am 35, married to Simon and have 2 boys, Xander (Alexander) and Kit (Christian) who are almost 6 and a little over 3 resepctively.
Xander has special needs and has just learned to crawl this Christmas! (had been bottom shuffling for a couple of years). He is a lovely, happy chap.
Kit is a real bright button who keeps us on our toes!
I teach 3 days a week at a fab school and love it.
I also help out with Simon's invention; the paper rucksack (now you know where the bags came from! ) and have just got through to the finals for the British Female Inventor and Innovator of the year!!

Love scrapbooking, paper bags and altering clipboards, paintcans and so on!

Kathryn :)

HIya all,

A quickie resume of me...

Married to Mark for 11 years - 3 kids, Joshua 8, Rhiannon 6 and Harrison 2. I am a fulltime mum and housemaker, although I also make celebration/wedding/novelty cakes from home and run my own scrapbooking club every Tuesday night. Club keeps me busy as I design kits for each month, so I am kept on my toes! I also help out with DH's flooring business, taking telephone calls, etc. Did have a dabble at setting up my own interent scrapbook supplies store but found myself diving headfirst into oblivion, so have conceeded that I am not SUPERWOMAN after all!!

this is my 3rd cj and I just love these - will be my first paperbag book too!

I am usually a chatty participent to CJ threads, but am having interenet connection probs at the moment, so am not on my PC as much as I would like.

Have been scrapping since August 05 and last week made my first cards! This is my first CJ and Im really excited about it (I should probably get out more lol)

It's my turn.
I'm Racheal, aged 35, married with two girls. Emma - 12 & Katie 7. We have two Rabbits, x1 cat and x1 hamster.

I work full time for a photographic retailer and really enjoy taking photos.

I was first a card maker, then persuaded to try scrapbooking, I haven't looked back.

This will be my second CJ. I really enjoyed my first one. I shall be doing mine 5x7. Hope that is ok.

Lori, I posted my CJ off to you today, so lets see how long it takes to get to you. Not too bad a price - just over £4.
Also, if there is anything 'typically British' that you would like me to send you, let me know!

Louise, the bags work really well, don't they. I am very pleased with my CJ and how it has started off. Can't wait to see it all finished though!

Hi Girls....I thought I'd better get on here and find out what's going on and to let you know that I am still in!

I haven't been around much lately. I have had some kind of virus, mainly sinus, coughing and headache for 3 weeks. Thank goodness, it has finally run its course.

I am happy to say that I have just finished my cj!!!!! And I am very pleased with it. I think it took me 12 hours to do, but it's finished. Did it take anyone else that long....or am I slow? This is my 5th cj and it still takes me a while to wrap my head around what I want to do.

I was going to try and mail it tomorrow, but the post office won't be open when I get home from work in the morning, so I will mail it off on Friday. I wanted to mail a little early to help compensate for the mailing times. I do a lot mailing between here and the UK and there is no consistency when it comes to time.

ANyhow..a little about myself. I am 40, soon to be 41. I moved to the Charleston area after graduating from college with my BSN-Registered Nurse degree. I currently am working the nightshift in a medical intensive care unit at a teaching hospital. Shortly after moving down south, I met my dh on a blind date. It was love at first site and we have been married going on 15 years. We have one 12 year old dd who thinks she is 30! I first started scrapbooking in 2000 and was hooked. The past several years has brought a new love for me...alter arts. I am very active in atc making and trading and also in altering jigsaws.

Louise - I would rather send by Recorded Delivery, as rules state...after all it would be devastating if one of us had our books lost. So if it was just the doorbell batteries playing up, then I will stick as we were. (Unless you wanted to give me your work address - maybe PM KatieM if you are changing postal plans first).

Hi, just to let you all know, my BIL died earlier this week, so I haven't been around much.

Morag apologies, my CJ is all enveloped and ready to send, but as I have passed the post office each morning I have remembered that it's still at home. Please believe me that this is not the real me - my mind is just else where at the moment. I should be able to post in the morning.

Kim, received your CJ this morning, its lovely! Just one question though, had decided on what I was going to do for my LO, but you stole my thunder! LOL

Would you mind if I did the same technique, obviously my pages will be very different, or would you prefer that I thought of something else so that there arent two pages on the run with the same technique?

I'm usually quite chatting, but haven't been on the thread much as we recently moved, and like an idiot I left a few things to hubby to do- including getting the phone line sorted, after two weeks of waiting they are coming tomorrow, so at least I will have dial up access, and then in a week I should have broadband, so will be back on board!

The show was sooo funny - talk about politically incorrect! Tne we found this most amazing chinese restaurant, full of Chinese peeps (so you know its good food) and the bill was under £40!

Saturday morning got up, checkout out and went on the London Eye, a great experience AND I HAVE LOADS OF PHOTOS!! (just need to find the time to put them in a LO). Had a walk down Regents Street, and found a lovely bead shop just off there so managed to buy some stash related trhings too! the Oxford Street, then home. Its was great to be an adult for 24 hours and not to worry about pushchairs and holding onto our other kids through the shops and Tube stations, etc. :D

Just to let you know I'll be offline for about a week starting on Sat 1st April. Any problems in that time, let winterbaby (tracy) know but hopefully when full service is restored there won't be any worries.

Julie - have PM'd you hun.

Kathryn :)

Julie,
Kathryn. I just received your pm..and have pm'd you back. I am sorry to say that I am the big hold up. I won't be posting the next cj until saturday...it's the favorite collections cj. I have just received the two cj's that Kathyrn has posted me....that was okay that you sent more than one at a time. :)

I will get caught up within the next two weeks and post those two out as I finish. I am at work right now and have some time on my hands, so I am going to sit here and plan my layouts.

Thanks for your patience...

Morning Lori!!

Just good to hear from you :) I was getting worried that you weren't well. Post on when you are ready (I already have an idea in my head for the childhood collections CJ - as long as no-one else has beaten me to it!!)

Have a good day

Great! I was feeling really bad about the delay. My list of "to do's" is soooo long, I thinkg I joined up for one to many atc swaps and what nots.

I will get it out by Saturday. It's nice now that one of our po in my town now has extended hours...until 400 on Saturday.

Does that mean if we're finished early with one we should be sending on? Ive finished with 'Words' but the posting date isnt until 22nd - Sara-Jane, do you want it early or do you want me to hold on to it? Im always happy to receive early, if it helps.

scrap-happyuk
05-04-2006, 11:08 AM
Suzy - I think as long as you check with your recipient that they are willing and able to receive early, then that's fine to post on. I know that Lowrygirl who I post to can only receive my cj's on a Saturday, so I have to be a whole week ahead of myself at a time (and this is yet to happen, I am afraid). But the good news is there doesn't appear to be any holdups either! Hope that helps :)

It doesn't bother me to receive early or to receive more than one at a time. Until the last mailing I tried to mail early, if I could.
Julie, what part of the UK are you located?

scrap-happyuk

I am in Bedfordshire England, which is a little less than 1 hour north of London. (You will see when your book returns home!!)

boltbunny
05-04-2006, 03:26 PM
Is England made mainly up of small towns? On the tv and in tv shows you don't see many huge cities like NY, which has over 17 million! My town only has 40,000.

Sorry if that sounded duh......

After I finish these two journals....I will only have 4 left!!! That is quick and that is why I think we will finish early.

I keep hitting enter... I have been in several groups on 2peas...hope I can mention that site....and I don't think I will get one back. It has been gone for almost two years. Can you believe that? I was a member of the peapals and it was with that group. I think the girl who started that group has it. It really ticks me off because it was all handmade. Erggggggggg.

My dd (12yold) is in a group and should have had her journal back last year. I know that it is in Fl. I have tried my darndest to get in contact with them, but without any luck.

They system over here is wayyyyy better. More accountablity. I understand there are a few flakers, but over all my experience has been great!

Lori - I believe that the total population for Great Britain is around 56 million "Officially" registered, and of that figure, 49 million are in England. London has a population of 1.1 million, so we are way off your NY population figures!! Still seems awful cramped when I visit London :)

That is terrible to hear that CJ's don't always come home - I would be fuming  . This is my 4th CJ and I have been really pleased with the groups I have been in...there usually seems to be the odd hiccup every now and again with late posting, but I just LOVE CJ's!!!

Julie, Don't let me cause you any probs, I'm in on a Saturday to sign for the CJ but if it comes any other day they will take it to the sorting office and I'll pick it up the following Saturday. Saturdays are good for me, but post when ever it suits you.:D

Louise - you are no trouble at all :D I would rather have someone's CJ sitting in my house safe and sound, than at a sorting office for a week, and that fact that Lori posts to me from USA means that I am generally having 2 weeks to complete my entries, and not 3 anyway, which I am happy to work to. I was just saying that I am probably one of the few that would not be posting early (Look, now I'm waffling  ) BASICALLY - NO WORRIES, HUN!!

Hi everyone! I'm back from the sunny Isle of Wight (and it was, most of the time!) had a great time. I'll try to update the fron page as soon as I can, but have only managed to sneek on here 'cos DH has taken DS2 to a birthday party but will be back soon and will need the 'puter to catch up on business, so it may not be until Tuesday evening. (I'm also hoping to go to Alexandra Palace tomorrow for the stamp and so on show)

I see no problem with moving on with the CJ if you are able to, no pressure if you can't post until the date though. As already said, so long as you ask before sending on early and its ok then lets do it.
Lori, I have a CJ that is about 2 years in the waiting too. It is almost back to me though!

Ok. I am trying to work out where everything is, so if you have a CJ and I haven't put it next to your name, please post below so I can amend this list and update it to the front of the thread!

KatieM has Flowers
Boltbunny has I Believe
Scrap-happyuk has Favourite Techniques
Lowrygirl has The things I collect
Cropkat has My Favourite Song ('cos the PO keep sending it back!)
Racheal has The Everyday things
Kiansloveruk has Home Sweet home?
SuzyB has walk on the wildside
Sara -Jane words
Amcmen has none?

They seem to be out of order somehow, so I need to know where Vintage Travel is (forgive me if it is glaringly obvious from the posts!)
If it is incorrect above - let me know! I'll try to sort it out tonight. I know they are all with us, but they are going at such a speed that if I blink I miss them!

I have "Believe" and I am putting the finishing touches on it today and I will get it mailed off on Wednesday or have my dh do that.
