Just want to say I am some what SHOCKED by this move and all.....would have thought this would have been mentioned in the Announcement thread, or at least a heads up in the forums...but I cant find any mention anywhere till now. Only found this by accident just now.
I know Jane is into altereing, but am gutted that none of the die hard alteres are Mods or have any idea whats going on..just thought maybe someone else would be helping Jane out here...or is that to happen later on?

It was supposed to be a nice surprise - not a shock :unsure:
There has been contact with different members over the past few months, requests for an altered forum and maybe a gallery too. Mary Anne was kind enough to agree and said we could have it from the New Year. Simon has taken time out on a bank holiday to set it up for us.
Do we need more than one mod? Once it is set up I can't forsee any huge workload, it is just a case of moving old threads over (I have already posted and asked for help, advice and suggestions) After that it is just a case of dealing with reported threads etc.
Like I said in the welcome thread, lets try and set this up together so that everyone is happy with it. Please don't knock it just because you didn't know about it or the fact that it hasn't been announced elsewhere yet.

Iwould think it would be fairly self moderating same as the bits that were in inspiration were, all jane needs to do as 'mod' is sticky threads and look at reported stuff? and shes probably the most 'qualified' out of the mods as she teaches altered art classes as well as scrapping, so she will enjoy getting involvedas well.
like the idea of the all the atc swaps/AB swaps being in here too, that would simplify things a bit? what would MA feel about that Jane?

Jane thanks for the explanation...I wasnt knocking the changes, just expressing my shock and the lack of info. Hope all the moves/changes go smoothly.
Linda I wanted to do an AB swap...with pockets and the like for large ATCs to go in...I understand that they can sometimes be expensive to post due to the weight, and was hoping to cut the weight down by having the excess pages removed before the 1st posting..obviously leaving plenty for the other participants, and also stating that the books should be suitable for posting...so making the right choice of book first would be beneficial to all taking part...guess i will see if there are any takers etc and see how it goes.
the tip ins are a great idea, but not too sure how they would all be suitable for pockets etc to store a largish ATC like card....will have to look in my books and see if there is another idea :unsure:

It is when you do a page for someone to stick in their book ie if your book was say 6x6 I would make sure it was able to be stuck in by keeping away from the edge just in case :)

Let's hope we don't have too many changes, I'm barley keeping up with things as they are :rolleyes: - only joking!
Good to see that there will be helpful places for people to got to who are new to the altered art movement and for them to explore new avenues.
Jane, I think having someone on here who understands altered art in it's glory will be good for this, and that you will have lots of experienced people to help with advice on altered art ideas, etc. I know that things for many ATCers/alterers have been fairly up and down on here so it's nice for us to have finally been given a place to come to and let our creativity shine through - you know that all the long time ATC girls are always willing to help out with advice, etc where we can :D

I will certainly welcome any help, I just want to make sure you know that I am not here to run things or organise anyone, just to do mod stuff like stick threads, move posts and help out if need be with reported posts. I am sure there will be very little moderation required. I think this forum will run itself, we'll all get more organised and used to things as we go along. There has certainly been quite a lot of interest so far!

Fantastic! Thanks to everyone for suggesting this forum. I love my altered art but haven't really posted any in the gallery. I can't wait to join in the swaps and perhaps get organised to post some finished pieces - after all that is one of my new years resolutions!

WoW! So many alterer's coming out of the woodwork, well done to everyone who bombarded MA with requests for this forum, and to Laura & co for their continued support & guidance.
Jane, I'm sure you'll have an easy time of it, as you say this forum will probably pretty much run itself, and there's lots of expertise here for newbies.
