The Digital LO Challenge is open to all, I have designed the kit with both traditional and digital scrappers in mind so feel free to either print the items out and use in the traditional way or use your photo program to do the whole LO's digitally.
The theme for this month will be AGE. Please feel free to interpret as you like. We will run the challenge from 1st of January 06 to 31st January 06 after which time the top ten LO's will be chosen and then these will be opened up to the public vote. The winner will be announced on the 7th February 06.
Once you have completed your LO's please post a link to this thread. The kit download link will be available here from Friday 30th Jan 05
Have fun and get scrapping.
Here's the download kit links.

Somebody clever please help!!!
I went to download and got this message on the 3rd screen
>>You have requested the file UKS_Jan_06_Age_Challenge_Papers.zip (12517266 Bytes). This file has been downloaded 2 times already.
IMPORTANT: Download-accelerators are only supported with a PREMIUM-Account<<
What do I actually press to download the file, I can't figure it out at all!!!!

Nor me - I had the same - totally lost

Try downloading the accelerator plus. Once you have installed it you should then be able go straight to the download.

I have tried downloading and installing that Bridget but it doesn't work, only the premium account supports the accelerator.
All I can see is an option to purchase a premium account and nothing that says how to download the files for free.
yizzard
30-12-2005, 03:06 PM
I found the free link but it only takes me to the upload page. I already have download accelorater and that is not kicking in.

Originally gave wrong instructions, see my later message.
djaye
30-12-2005, 03:45 PM
I have tried right clicking the links but I get a message that the page cannot be found after it starts downloading.
I can see the link to the free download but when I press that I just get uploading information and asked if i want to open a premium account, and that the accelerator will not work without a premium account.
I did manage to download something using the accelerator but when I checked it was just a page full of google links etc.
Off to sulk now
deedee
30-12-2005, 03:47 PM
I'll sulk with you - I can't do it either.:(
djaye
30-12-2005, 04:10 PM
sulk over!!! the accelerator must have kicked in! I right clicked on the thread links and got the option to download with the accelerator....and it worked!thanks Bridget
...spoke too soon, can't open the zip files because it says they are corrupted so downloaded them again and still same...now I am gonna cry

30-12-2005, 04:16 PM
OK
I am totally lost Can't see the file at all let alone try and download it
Do I need to be a member first and is it Ok to download this accelerator thingy (totally dim here!)
djaye
30-12-2005, 04:21 PM
Has anybody managed to download the files, and open them and got to a stage where they can use them?...if so step by step instructions for this little dimwit club that is forming would be very much appreciated!
craftyslh
30-12-2005, 04:54 PM
Finally done it, click on link in the first message in the thread, this will take you to the page showing the file you need and 2 options for download, I then clicked on the FREE button, sometimes I got a picture of fireworks, but hit BACK and FREE again, (may need to do this a couple of times) and I finally got a (You have got a ticket in the queue message), waited for the seconds to count down, then it gives you a code to type into the box, hit the Continue button and you are off downloading.
I've successfully downloaded the elements, and then expanded them, just downloading the papers now, so keeping fingers crossed.

30-12-2005, 04:59 PM
I clicked on the links - saved them to my usual folder and unzipped as usual.
No mention of accelerators or premium accounts.

There are some lovely LO's being produced. Its great to see what different things you are all coming up with. Please keep those LO's coming.
It would be great to see all you traditional scrappers joining in with this challenge, remember many of the items in the kit have been desiged with you in mind. Just print out the papers or elements and use them to design your page.
Just Remember To Keep Having Fun.

After reading the FAQs on the site where the files are hosted I found this.
Our system checks your IP-address in order to count the downloads. If you are getting this message and you really did not download anything, then you are using a proxy-server, which is used by other people as well. Even if you have no proxy-server set up in your configuration, there are many providers who force a transparent proxy-servers between you and the net. If you do not believe us, go to other pages telling you your IP-address (for example http://www.myipaddress.com.) But what can you do? You have to disable this proxy-server. If you are not able to disable the proxy-server, the only solution IS a Premium-account. Premium-users are recognized by cookies, not by IP-address. Unfortunately we cannot disable our IP-check, else people would download so much that we would have to close down this service completely. I hope you understand our situation in this matter.
This probably means that as I use BT/Yahoo I will not be able to download from this site unless I pay to be a premium account holder.

Sue this should not be the problem as I am a premium account holder, this message on their FAQ's relates to downloading the origional files to their site.
Have you tried the alternative links to download from on the first page of this thread. You should be able to get them from here. I know Karen (scrapdolly) has now downloaded, so hopefully you should be able to also.
Hope this sorts things for you.

Hi Bridget,
I tried loads of times yesterday with both sets of links. I also tried with IE and also Firefox and I also downloaded the Download Accelerator with no luck at all.
I must have tried at least 30 times at different times during the day.
I've just tried again now and it downloaded straight away with no problems at all....strange!
At least I have them now, so I can give them a try.
Thanks for the help.

Only a few days left now to get those entries in. Its been great seeing what you have all done with the kit. Please remember this competition is open to all and it would be great to see some of you traditional scrappers having a go.
I am setting up a viewing gallery so that you can all view what has been entered so far. This should be up and running later today on digiscrapuk.
