Hope this is okay to post here, but one of my new year resolutions was to get out more! I've decided to pluck up the courage to ask....would it be okay for me to come along to one of the crops? If it is, is there anything I need to know/do/bring (apart from the kitchen sink!). It's about time DH took his turn with the kids and it's about time I had a wee bit space:)

TIA

Hallo Av!

Of course it's ok for you to come to the crop. I can keep you a space if you want? We are not full for January yet :)

If you've any questions, just ask! One of us will be happy to answer.

Thanks all for replying!:) Yes, I'd like to you keep me a space :). I've never been to a crop before, so be prepared for a lot of questions :). And if it's the Grove Street that has Stampers Grove on the corner - I could find my way there with my eyes shut ;)......

Are there normally a lot of people there (when you say it's not full - how full is that?), is there anything I don't need to bring that I think I should IYKWIM, and you do realise now that I've made my mind up to actually go to a crop it will be cancelled for some obscure reason......(freak of nature, alien invasion, sun burning out......:)).

Av

sharonfruit
22-12-2005, 10:46 AM
Hi Av!

It is indeed the Grove Street, which has Stampers Grove on the corner! In fact, the hotel is almost next door. Perfect!

We can have 16 people at the most, but it generally tends to average out at about 12 people. 12 seems to be the perfect number for everyone and their stash ;)

You don't need to bring masses of stuff - just the basics and stash for whatever you are working on. If you forget anything then we can usually help you out. I forgot my trimmer last month but people kindly let me borrow whenever I needed one :)

I don't care if the sun burns out - we will still crop, chat and eat cake :D

Hear, hear Sharon! The world could be ending...but what a great way to go!
Does anybody have any objections to me brining cake this time?
If not...then what type?
Have suggested Cheesecake or carrot cake.Anyone not like either?

Is everyone sorted for santa coming?
Me...i'm all shopped out.Just waiting for the big day!

toodles for now.

Kat
22-12-2005, 11:11 PM
Helen - either cake will do ... or both?? ^_^

Sis and nephew touched down at 6:20pm and had already a great time so far - Ciaran beating DH in Sonic etc :)

Now waiting for my Mutsch to phone (around 11/11:30ish) when she arrives at Haymarket to be picked up, and that's us for Christmas.

Didn't manage to weed the front garden, rake the back garden or bake cookies but got the house tidied and potato salad done which was the priority today.

Pretty sure I will be online at some point before Christmas again... :)

Hi Elaine

I think we can keep a space for you  I have to admit that I am losing track this month with all the new people ;)

All the details are on the first post of this thread, as Helen said. It is from 11-5 but you can come and go if you please. You don't have to stay all day!

We'll have tea/coffee/cake there. The hotel has a cafe if you want to buy lunch or you can bring your own. Whatever suits really ;)

If you've got anymore questions let me know and I can send you an email or something :)

I look forward to meeting you :D

how do most of you bring along your stash? I was thinking just a small roller suitcase might be the thing but is that over doing it a bit? How much stuff do you bring along? Should I have some idea of what I want to accomplish before I come???

Kat
07-01-2006, 07:20 PM
As discussed via MSN already - just bring your trolley - I got my Crop In Style trolley with me all the time plus probably poly bags... :) Cardstock is essential, as is adhesive - scissors are usually around with those lovely ladies (I forgot mine in December!) as well as pens, eyelets etc.

We're very good at sharing.. :)

Wow... you guys are amazing! I just can't keep up with you! Every time I think "oh, I should see if there is anything going on in the crop chat", there are at least 2 new pages to read! I'm completely confused with the multiple Helens and Elaines, but thanks Sharon for putting up your photo! At least I know I will be able to recognise you now. I can't wait until Saturday... although when I think of the mountainload of work ahead of me before then I feel completely ill! Just too much on at the moment.

Is anyone interested in reading some Australian cropping mags? I have quite a few I can bring on Sat. They are at least twice the size as the ones here with lots of interesting ideas.

I got rid of SOOO much stash moving here and now I'm really kicking myself. But at least I won't have to be a pack horse on Saturday. Stupid me though, the worst thing is I GAVE AWAY my eyelet setter!! How stupid can you get??? Anyone got one I can borrow on Sat? I'm having eyelet withdrawal symptoms. I want to get one of those "silent" ones but just haven't managed to see one in action yet. Anyone got one?

Oh and if the craft robo thingo goes missing on Sat, it wasn't me, ok? :o

Elfin
18-01-2006, 01:12 PM
Maria I'll have my tool kit with me so you are more than welcome to use my eyelet setter.

Hi Maria!

We are right chatterboxes here  I'd love to see some australian mags if you've got space to bring them along!

Have a hammer too. :D
Will bring them along on saturday. And please bring some mags too......would love to have a wee look! :D

I'm steadily(well...alright,super fast! much to DH's horror!! ) building up my stash.Such a shame you had to get rid of any. :(

see you Sat

Not organized at all... decided to pack "emergency scrapping stuff" only - i.e. the shoulder tote from Lakeland (haven't used that in YEARS!!!

Checking bus times right now and quickly printing some bits out and then I am on my way .... see you soon, ladies!!

Thansk to everyone for a great day out yesterday! I can't believe how fast the time flies when you're at a crop! Thanks to everyone for making my first one so enjoyable. What a great bunch of ladies you are. I had so much fun!!:)

And a special thanks to everyone who put up with my endless questions....I learned so much from you all! Hubby was most impressed by my distressed tags. And I'm almost over the trauma of the paper tearing - almost. :)

Can't wait to see you all next month again!!!
