I have just updated the details for the new year online Photoshop Courses. I now offer a level 1 course aimed at those starting out with their digiscrapping, together with a level 2 course to take your digiscrapping to the next stage.

If you would like to join in with either of these courses you will find all the information on the digiscrapuk site.

Not yet... Thanks for the reminder though - I need to sign up for the second one
I did the first course before Christmas & would highly recommend it. I had tried and tried and failed with photoshop, gave Bridgets course a go (at that price couldn't afford not to!) and success!! I'm no expert yet but very pleased with results so far - some of which are in my gallery if you want to take a look.
Give it a go - it's brill!

I'm not ready for this yet, I really have no knowledge whatsoever with Adobe Photoshop, so going to do one of your tutorials on your website first Bridget. Love your website btw :)

Jennie I was a complete beginner when I did the course - could not have managed any of the tutorials on the site at the time. Bridget started from how to have a designated file on your computer for digi stuff and howto download.

What version of photoshop do you need, and do you have to be on-line for the 2 hrs of the course??

I echo Chris' posts... I did Bridget's first course and its great... I think it needs to be 7 or above maybe (I tried Adobe Elements and Photoshop 5 limited edition, and they didn't have all the things we were covering... so I downloaded a trial (full version but only 30 days) of CS) - it's run out now (boohoo) so I'll have to go on ebay and try and find a cheaper version to buy...

the course is run through a chat room, but you download the instrructions before hand, so theoretically you could just log on when you have a problem or need to ask a question - but it is fun to chat to everyone and swap experiences whilst you are going along...(BTW the best bit is you can have the telly on, or eat your dinner while you are doing the course - great for the those who like to multitask LOL!)

Many thanks Chris and Nicci for such comprehensive info. I echo all that you have said, and am so pleased you gained so much from the course.

It is best to have version 7 or above of photoshop to gain the best from the course and although the course is for 2 hours a week you do not have to be in the chatroom for the whole time and just like nicci said the best thing is that you can have the telly on, eat dinner or even sit in your gym jams LOL. The course will take you from the very basics through to being able to put a basic LO together.

Just signed up for this. I'm really nervous as I've never used photoshop before.

My son has lent me his laptop with Photoshop CS2 V9.0 (I think) to see if I get on with this, before I buy it myself. He's abroad for the next 6 weeks and so won't be using it anyway - but having just looked at the cost of purchasing this program....I may just have to keep his laptop

Still......I'm sure I spend far more than that on my scrapbooking stash over the year anyway.

Hi

I have been to your site thinking to have a look around before perhaps joining the course. I am completely new to scrapbooking and although I have had a digital camera for about 4 years now I have only ever done the least necessary to view my photos. I would have like to have a complimentary viewing on your site to see if it is what I am looking for. I want to be able to make my own backgrounds and embellishments in standard A4 and use them with both digital and conventional photos. Is this something you course would teach. I am a complete novice and am open to all and any suggestions on how to proceed forward with this new hobby of mine

Cheers

The level 1 photoshop course will take you through the basics of digital scrapbooking, however this course does not cover making your own backgrounds or embelishments. It really depends on what you know about photoshop as to what level you will need to start with. If you are a beginner then the first course would be a very good starting point.

If you visit the site you will be able to access all areas except from being able to download the kits. You would need to become a member of the site to access these.

Bridget, sorry to sound daft but does your course cover such things as improving photos for scrapping (i.e. altering backgrounds etc etc) I am not sure about the digital scrapping thing but definitely need to know how to work on my photos.

Sally, the level 1 course does cover elements relating to photo adjustment (Week 4 should be of interest to you) it also covers getting started with making a basic digital LO. This course also covers adjusting backgrounds by using the hue and saturation levels to achieve different effects. The level 2 course goes further into photo manipulation.

Hi

Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Bridget for the first lesson tonight. I had great fun. I am agoraphobic and so taking classes in such things is normally impossible for me, but this course is ideal.

I think Bridget is brilliant - we all went through at different speeds, but she just calmly kept sorting us out.

I for one, cannot wait for next week....and have even started looking for supplier of 12 x 12 photo paper to print my digi layouts onto (DH has an A3 printer so that should work).

Anyway, once again - Bridget, thank you so much for a fantastic evening in the classroom.
