Hi, I'm totally new to scrapbooking, and in need of some advice please! I have created a few square layouts now but just can't decide what size to have them printed off, either 12x12 or 8x8!! Not sure some of the images will be ok printed at 12x12 , but 8x8 looks really small in comparison!
Just wondering what size everyone else printed their pages out? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Hi,
Personally I create at 12 x 12 and 200 dpi save, copy and resize to 8 x 8. Why? Well, I don't have a 12 x 12 printer and it costs too much to send them out to get printed.
I don't think I would like 12 x 12 digital pages but that is just me, the print quality and detail on my 8 x 8's is fantastic and I print at home too. I have done 10 x 10 and put them in a 12 x 12 page with papers and a few embellies and I've made a whole album of 5 x 5 for a gift.
The sky is the limit when you do square - I even printed some 3 x 3 and put them on a paper bag book that I am working on.
I currently have 1 8 x 8 and 2 6 x 6 albums on the go for my digi pages and 4 12 x 12 for my paper pages.
It just depends on what looks right to you - happy deciding!
Jules
I like mine 8x8 but as Jules says, there's no need to stick with the standard sizes. I think 12x12 would be far too big, and very expenaive to print.
By doing 8x8
a- my computer copes with the large number of layers much more easily without freezing
b- it's a nicer final size for me
c- it fits on A4 paper to print at home or
d- I save up at least 20 LO's at a time and treat myself to printing them at photobox as that way they are 99p each for 8x8's.
That reminds me - I need to put more pages in my home-made digi album so I can stick the latest batch in!

I'm another 8 x 8 fan for all the reasons stated by Elin and Jules. I have had a few printed at 12 x 12 and for me personnally I think they are too big. I have done several 8 x 8 albums for family and friends and there is a great choice of albums this size from sponsors here.

I'm only just getting going but so far anything printed has been 8x8 and looks fab!
Reasons are pretty much as already stated by others
Good luck deciding!

Hi Everyone, thanks for your replies - I had pretty much decided to go for 8X8 (for all the reasons you have mentioned!) before posting, but your comments have convinced me! many thanks again!
