problem correcting red eye

Hello, i have photoshop and normally have no problem correcting red eye however now when i use the red eye tool and click on swatches and change the colour to black the brush correct the eye in grey , i can;t seem to change it! please help i turned the red eye off on my camera and now i have loads to fix!!

What's the Darken Amount figure set to?

When you're using the Red Eye tool, there should be a bar under the menu bar which gives information and settings for the current tool - it should be in there.

Is it Photoshop CS you're using?

it fdepends whixh photoshop ur using on what kinda stuff it has so she might not have what ur talking about, i dont, im on photoshop 3.0. which one r u on donswish?
