Didn't get access to the Internet at all today, until 9:20 this evening! I've been on a training course at work all day (well Ok, I admit I sneaked on for 10 mins before the training course!), and then my daughter's baby-sitter let her down -- so by the time the bus got back 35 mins late it was straight into the car and down to hers while she had a 2 hour driving lesson. And then I had to stop at the shop on the way back for a few essentials! I'm ready for bed again now :blink:

Hi everyone - I've just ordered some gorgeous (hopefully!) stuff from america for my tags. I'm going all-out on these!! :rolleyes:

I had never done a tag til the Christmas Tag swap - so they were VERY basic (apologies to all in my group on that swap!), next I did tags for the Calendar Tag Swap - a bit more adventurous but they haven't been sent yet as no-one knows what's happening with that swap at the moment.

I know it's a daft question, but I need it clarifying - the tags have to be acid free?

Layla, I have never really thought about this before in tag swaps, most of my stuff tends to be acid free anyway, but I would say no as that way we are not restricting anybody to what and how they do their tags.

If when we have all the tags back we find that we like a particular one we can then contact whoever made it and see if it is acid free or not.

Does anyone else have any suggestions????????????

I wondered about the acid free thing too, when we did the K9 tag swap, in the end I used real luggage lables and didn't worry about it as they were the prefect colour!...(I tend to display my tags, like to stroke rather than use, as Kate says... LOL! ... and you could always use them on a page and make sure they are not overlapping a photo...)

Think your suggestion not too worry and then contact the maker if needed is a good idea - shall we put our UKS IDs on the back so as not to cause the confusion we had before, or is it more fun trying to guess... LOL!

Well, amongst my other few bits and pieces (2 ornaments, 3 books, a torch, a Spa detox kit and some hazelnut hot chocolate) I got £50 of vouchers for Fred Aldous in Manchester, which is my main craft shop :D Hubby got them as 5x£10, 'cos the store told him if he bought 1x£50 I'd have to spend it all at once -- and he decided this way I can buy bits and pieces as I need them (like I can't go in and spend that much in one go anyway :rolleyes: )

I assume you mean die number 38-0946?

That's the one I'm planning to use at the moment too (but may change my mind depending what I spend my Christmas money one :wub:). The sizzix site says it is 3.25"x4.75", so it exceeds the minimum height of 3.5" specified for this swap.

The largest on the combo die (38-0944) is listed as 1.75"x3.5", so that one should also be acceptable (and is another I have on the back burner), and at 2.25"x4.5" the 38-0945 die also passes the height test :lol:

They are all fine, I put a size on so that we didnt have too small a tags. I have the scallop combo die and will probably use the largest one on it or make my own depending on what i finally decide to do.

Hi all, hope you've had a merry christmas and lots of new stash! I haven't started my tags yet either and will be making my own rather than using a die (hope that's ok). I have done some research as to my design and materials etc, in fact I've done lots of reading as I sprained my ankle rather badly on xmas eve (in the morning and I was sober!) and have been laid up for most of the hols, tv was a load of cobblers most of the time but luckily got lots of new resource books to read:)

my mum has a young goldie, and her old goldie died just a few weeks ago, it was really sad, as he was just the nicest dog you could know - they are a fab breed, fun but laidback and always happy! if you do ever decide to get a dog, a goldie or lab would DEFINITELY be the best place to start - especially with kids (I can see from your sig line you've got a few of those LOL!)

been busy diecutting my tags with my new wizard today (did I mention I got the new wizard, oh yes, I did didn't I! sorry but I'm very excited, I LOVE IT LOL!)... so hopefully, will have them finished soon... (mind you I always manage to do the first 90% quite quickly, then seem to leave it till the day before deadline to actually finish them! Anyone else to that?, or am I just weird!)

I was soooo organised...cut my tags ....made a start...then had a bit of a blip and havent done any crafting for a few days and now I cant find the box I put all my bits in!!!

Ive just recut my tags and will be making them tomorrow to get them in the post on Monday morning.

Just want to check though that its Ok for me to use other colours instead of reds/pinks etc...I plan to make some red/pink and some blue/lilac/pale green is that Ok or is everyone sticking with the more traditional colours???

My inspiration for these tags only started last night, but just couldn't come up with the final touch. Sat and stared at the partial tonight, and then realised what I thought I had somewhere to finish it off -- and sure enough I did (and just enough for what I wanted as well :lol: ). Now all done, and about to head to bed :)

way hay (she jumps for joy) I've made 5 tags so far (at last off the mark). I'm so relieved to finally get off the starting block.Dh is frowning at the hammering and eye's need matchstick's to prop them open so will leave the other's for another night.

Half way thru mine too... got my lovely new wizard embossing machine to play with, so you'll all be able to see the results on your tags LOL! mine are all traditional red (with cream and silver), so it looks like we should be getting a nice variety!

Just to keep you updated: I got back from dog training, eventually got the kids bathed and to bed then sat down and started sorting them out ready to post in the morning, I have managed to do group ones just need to get them to the PO and make sure I put any extra stamps back in your envelopes for you. It is 11.00pm so will do group twos in the morning so that I dont mess them all up.
