Hi Louise
Thanks for adopting me. I'm sure I will need help soon. I did post a question on the general scrapping site and got a few replies, so I think I must have done that ok. There are some fabulous layouts on the gallery. I'm a complete newbie and have yet to do my first one! I am working on an album of my daughter's wedding, but it can't really be called scrapbooking, I'm just making it up as I go along. I have bought a stash of papers and have things going round in my head, but suppose it will wait until after christmas now.
Hope to chat soon.

Ho Lorrie, feel free to ask me anything you need to know, hopefully I'll have the answer  .I'm not too good with the technical stuff on the site but know all about the forums and especially the swaps,i'm mad on those and have hosted a few myself.Do you do any other crafts?I started out with cross stitching which I love then went onto cardmaking and now scrapping.I love photos so it seemed a perfect hobby.Have a look in my gallery if you want, just click on the camera icon under my avatar.I adopted someone else yesterday too and have already persuaded her to take part in her first swap! Look forward to helping you out.Take care.x :D

Hi Louise
Just had a look at your gallery. Wow you have some lovely layouts in there. I'm not sure where to start.
I started cardmaking a couple of years ago, and I meet up with a few friends, usually about once a month. We try to do something we havn't tried before, but usually we chat more than anything else. I have also dabbled in cross stitch. In fact I have an unfinished one that comes out now and again. I do it for a few evenings and then forget about it for a few more months.
I don't know anything about swaps. Could you tell me about them?

Ooh Lorrie I love swaps. Now how to explain......normally theres groups of 10 people and for example if it was a ribbon swap each person would buy 10 metres of ribbon, cut it into 10 1 metres lengths and then put each one in a little bag.You then send it to the person hosting the swap who then swaps out the ribbons and sends them back to you.You get 10 lengths back one of which is your own plus 9 different ones too. There was a ribbon one in the swaps forum, I'm in it but I'm not sure if all the groups are full. Its a good way to get lots of different bits of stash together.Theres always swaps going on in the swaps forum.I've just sent one for approval to host a winter/snowy ribbon swap.I thought it would be nice to have lots of ribbons for the snowy pages we will all be doing soon, you know silvers, white and blue ribbons. How great that you cross stitch too,I'm doing one of the DMC The Snowman ones at the moments, haven't got very far with it yet. You'll enjoy scrapbooking, its just a bigger version of cardmaking really which uses lots of the same tecniques.Don't forget any questions just ask and I'll then probably confuse you more with my explanations

Hi Louise
Many thanks for your explanation of swaps. I'll keep my eyes open for them.
I do have a question and that is... How do you get a picture under your name? Also what are all the little pictures under your text and how can I get one?
Thanks
Lorrie

Hi Lorrie,to put a photo under your name have a look at the the red tool bar at the top and on it is user cp,click on that and you can add signatures etc...you need to click on edit avatar. You can then choose one of the pics on there or browse your own pictures and add one.The photo has to be only 250k or less in size though to add it.Hope you can understand my explanation, since doing this adopting I've found out what a hopeless explainer I am  :D The things(blinkies)at the bottom of my posts are the CJ I'm in,some swaps I'm in and a team I'm a member of.Some clever kind person designs them and then you add them in user cp again. The sparkly name though you could get one of those. In the Community chat forum theres a post at the top of that called request your sparkly names, you post in there saying what colour and name you want and they make one for you.Theres also an expalnation in there how to add it.Hope that helps. :D
