Talking of halves - at least I feel half alive now. lol. dunno whether to go upstairs and finish my fairy cj that needs posting. Don't want to give it only a half, which I feel I might. Think I might just do half of it instead. lol.

Evening everyone!
DH went and bought the tree today - he promised me it wouldn't be as big as last years. Well its not quite as tall but its awfully wide.
Shouldn't grumble cos its really lovely!
Hi all, so excited. Went to the Stamp Attic yesterday and spent almost all my chrissy money on stamps.... such a brilliant range, how can a girl choose!!! I am now counting the days until christmas so I can play with them.. Got DH to fish one out of the bag at random and have nearly worn it out playing....
Off for a nice full english brekky and put up the tree with the boys.. Sarah, do I get it you are off to Florida again? You GO GIRL!!
PS cannot BELIEVE they voted Brenda out!! You either know what I mean or don't.
luvv and hugs
Rita
Stamp Attic's wonderful isn't it! I blew most of my bonus from work in there :D
Not me going back to Florida (I wish!) - it's Jakki this time - lucky moo!

OOh - soo getting the wrong end of the stick these days... I am deffinately going back to Stamp Attic but will have to do some serious saving first.
well done on the boot sale takings Del - I did one of those once, got very cold, made very little dosh, never again!
Rita - which stamps did you get?
fluffnco
11-12-2005, 08:23 PM
It was my very first car boot Sarah and I've got to say was a very panicky time at first. We couldn't get the stuff out of the car with everyone crowding us to see what we had and one guy even had the cheek to actually open the passenger door to have a closer look at some tools in a bucket!! Just glad Ady was still there. I've never felt so claustrophobic and panic stricken in my life!!
Now I know what it's like the next time I'll have all car doors locked and the table will be loaded last! LOL

Put our tree up but lights don't work and I've already done my usual shout at the kids whilst sorting the tree :(

11-12-2005, 08:37 PM
Sounds like a bulb problem there Lorraine. what a bummer! Happens every year to us too. Not got our tree yet or even thought about christmas yet

Fairysparkle
11-12-2005, 08:40 PM
Well they were problematical last year and this year only the green ones work but its such a pain trying to sort out which is the faulty ones that we will just get new in fact DS1 offered to get some :)
fluffnco
11-12-2005, 08:41 PM
Know what you mean about trying to sort out which bulb is stopping the rest from lighting. Bleeding pain in the asterisk if you ask me ;) Best go with the 'buy new' approach :D

Great result on the car boot !!! Bummer on the lights, What happens during the 11months they are in the attic doing nothing !!!!They go in working , come out , stuffed !!!! Do you reckon the makers , do something so they just last 1 year so you cannot even get your money back !!! We should march or something , Downing Street here we come !!! [ Heard there is a great Craft shop just round the corner ] . So where is Stamp attic ??? And remind me please the name of the Sb shop the other side of Cirencester please , are you allowed to tell me this on here , Unsure , Oh , sure you will put me straight , dont let me get thrown off after such a short time !!! Do you mean Paper Arts Val?
chudleigh
12-12-2005, 07:14 PM
Yes I think I do !!!! any chance you could go on for the bonus point !!!! Stamp Attic ????Where is this !!!
Fairysparkle
12-12-2005, 07:16 PM
Oh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Is the Stamp Attic where I went with my mates on the way back from Cotswold Keepsakes ??????? I don't know
that's the one we shouldn't be mentioning!
Paper Arts is a sponsor
Stamp Attic (which, psssst, is in Wantage) is not
Fairysparkle
12-12-2005, 07:20 PM
We are allowed to mention anything aren't we???????? But not do links to non sponsors I thought
I've seen posts removed for simply mentioning (usually in gushing terms) non sponsors - but only normally when they have got quite long and over the top (eg the WHSmith thread!)
('sfair enough really - the sponsors have to pay a fair bit)
Fairysparkle
12-12-2005, 07:29 PM
Of course I understand about the Sponsor thing
Val pm's can be used for asking about non sponsors:)

So You so far have the starter for 10 and 5 bonus points in the next round I will be asking questions on wood burning tool kits !!!!!! Do you have one ? Do you like it ? Use It ? Know where they are for sale ? Are you selling one ? val

Hello ladies - just popping in to say hi (just did a typo and it said that I was pooping in for a chat which is not the same thing at all is it?).
How is everyone? I am so manic I don;t know if I am coming in or going out at the moment. Just been shopping and am going out to DS3 christmas play - he is santa then 2 tennis lessons (not for me you understand) and then another show so will be 7.30 before I am in again. DH hasn't had time to get the tree yet but I am hoping to finish decorating the house this evening which would just leave the tree to do on Sunday. Have got a spare morning tomorrow so maybe could start wrapping the pressies instead of leaving it all to Xmas Eve like usuual.
Have fun and will drop in again soon
hi Rachel - you sound scarily busy! here's hoping that family of yours give you a 5 minute rest soon :D
I am shattered too after being up until 3:30 this morning packing xmas pressies ready to post over to the family in Ireland - yawn! The parcel was so big and heavy when I was done I could barely carry it! My postage bill at the post office for that and some bits I sold on eBay came to £52 - eeeek!
Hoping to have a relatively early night tonight - all I have to do is make up my Tena box and fill it with body shop goodies for Connor's nursery teachers - hopefully that won't take too long
by the way, Chudders, it was nice to see you earlier and thanks again for my bits, you really shouldn't have!
Sarah

Hello ladies - I have just spent a second day this week at Cribbs and now if I haven;t got it tough, I am never going shopping again!!!! - well not today anyway. I should be wrapping up presents but just popped in for a chat. Nick is on his works do in Aberdeen so will not be home tonight and the kids have friends over so there is 6 of them waiting to be fed. Will start after tea I promise but wrapping is soooooo boring dont you find. Still have my CJ entry to do before I pack up my crafty stuff from the dining room table but don;t have any inspiration yet. I haven;t even thought about food yet so gues that will be Monday morning taken care of. Anyway I am off to Olympia in the morning for the day and Sunday is filled with footy matches so won;t be around much again but will pop in when I can.
Have a fabby weekend everyone

Just flitting in to say hi and bye. Had a fab day at Olympia yesterday but didn;t get back until 12.30 and then had to get up for 9.30 football start only to have it cancelled at 9.25. Nick gone off to do the 10.30 one and I will have to do the 11.30 one. Still it does give me a couple of hours to tidy up and book lunch at the pub!!!!! Nick will hopefully pick up the tree on his way home and then he can decorate it this afternoon whilst i have a snooze!!!!!.
We decided that man have a great time at christmas, all they have to do is carve a turkey, buy some perfume and wrap it up if they are feeling generous and go to lots of office parties. (oh and earn the money to pay for our christmas but we don;t count that) :):):)

Hi Girls!!
sorry I have been so quiet (most unlike me ;)) but as Sarah says I've not been very well and have also put in a week of 12 hour shifts which were spent stripping, washing down and painting our office cum sleep in room at work this week. I'm pooped!!
Totally in a state of panic as I have CJ's piling up to be done and another one to pick up from the sorting office :O
I did manage to clean up the house ready for crimbo by doing a small amount each evening once I got home this week but no crimbo tree or decs and hardly any cards sent at all as I couldn't get to a post office in time :(
Anyways!1 Thank you all for your support this year girls. Feels like |I've known you all for years :D
Hope you and yours all have a truly fab crimbo and here's to the swindon tena ladies going from strength to strength in 2006!! :)

They asked for a list of things I wanted for Christmas but I didn't think they would be so thoughtful. The list had other things on which would have been easier for them to get. They even had them delivered to where they work so that I wouldn't see them and DH took my tote over to my mums a couple of weeks ago. I think they are both brilliant! I'm still stroking my new butterfly wheelie tote and bg sets!!!
I'm sure my Dad is a little worried about my tote. I think he thinks its for shopping  as he kept on saying things like "I didn't think i'd ever see our Sarah with a shopping bag on wheels". I did try to explain but gave up in the end!!!

Happy New Year - this is my first time back on the boards since before christmas so loads of catching up to do!!
Hope you all had a fantastic christmas and a great new year. I have just about got rid of the hang over that I had all day yesterday!!!!! and I don;t drink!!!!! DH and another friends decided to go in the hot tub at 4.30am on NYE at which point I decided to go to bed, I laid there for a while (well 2 minutes) wondering if it was a good idea to leave two very drunk men in water by themselves (risk of drowning rather than anything else in case you were thinking wierd thoughts) but fell asleep anyway. He was in bed when I woke up at 9am so it was all ok although he didn;t go to bed until 6.30am!!!!!
I have to report that I only got 2 12" dies for my sidekick as stash this year. DH and kids decided that there couldn;t possibly be anything I didn;t have - how delusional is that? Just have to make up for it in January - are you coming to the crop Jakki and Debs ( I bet you are just to show off your tans)
On the good side though DH has joined a shooting club with his friend and plan to go shootting on Sat am and as he is refereeing on sat pm it seems only fair that I go out all day Sunday - anyone got any ideas where I could go for the day to meet up with some friends, have a chat, some cake and maybe even use some flowers and glue? I have a recipe for Malteser chocolate cake I could make if that jogs anyones memory about where I could go on Sunday - bribery usually works but then you haven;t tasted my cakes.
Val - congrats on Daisy she is yummy yummy
Is anyone out there!!!!!!
I'm here :)
not much to report - can't believe I've got to go back to work tomorrow :(
I'm in the middle of putting a new CJ together for the upcomong 'mums of boys' group, and have lots of other stuff I'd like to play with craft-wise, but it's tricky with a bored toddler running riot around my ankles!
Looking forward to the crop.....
see you all soon

Sarah , your supposed to be getting grub in for your rabble !!!!! Hope the family has now been fed and watered !!! well Christmas and New Year has been and gone , Daisy arrived early and we are all still on cloud nine , Dh arrived home just before new years eve so we are still attacking the mistletoe !!!!!!! But managed to knock up a clip board in between !!! Oh and a grandma's brag book or 2 !!! Be ready to be bored senseless with my brag book next sunday !!! Realy looking forward to us getting together if only for the malteser cake !!!! Do we have to make stuff or can we just eat cake !!! Have a good week and see you all Sunday , Val x PS , Please dont tell me the mirror has gone !!! I need it after the eating I have done over the last fortnight !!!!
just been to Rusts and have bought jam doughnuts, hula hoops and cheese strings - that'll do! LOL
today is our last indulgence day, as I traditionally get back on the diet wagon on my first day back at work after NY :(
will I be the only one dieting next week? it'll be hard work watching everyone else tuck into the cakes - eek!
and I'm really looking forward to seeing your brag book Val :)

Hi girls. Just heard from Jak and Deb, they are on their way back from Florida, just landed in NY and awaiting their next flight. Sounds like they have had a great time. Where's Del? Cant see any recent posts. Is she ok. Are we all still on for next weekend? If not, can we all go to Rachel's for a go in her hot tub please. lol

Hiya!
Just popping in to say hope you have a good time on Sunday :) I probably won't be able to make it cos DH is supposed to be organising a trip to the Pantomime Oh yes he is! Anyway, have a great time & don't eat too much cake!
PS Sarah - I love that book, so asked vendor if she'd accept a cheque & she said yes!
honeybunny
03-01-2006, 10:39 AM
DH just changed the water in the hot tub and I am sure it is his dream to see 10 women in the tub at the same time so anyone who wants to bring a cossie (or not!!!) feel free for a dip.
Jo - I am going to the pant on Saturday night which I thought was the last night as a friend has her son as one of the lost boys.
Looks like I am making malteser cake then - shall I put a candle on it then?
Sarah - my diet starts on 5th when kids go back - we could have a monthly weigh in at the crop couldn't we
Jo Lucy
03-01-2006, 04:43 PM
Mmmm Hot tubs & Matlesers!
We're supposed to be going with a (small) group to the Bath one, as most people aren't based near Swindon. I don't really care, as I'm not a big Panto fan, but DH wanted to do it & I dragged him to see a colleague in 'Fiddler on the Roof' recently, so I thought I'd better humour him.
OK, off to do some cleaning so I can then do some scrapping!

I dragged DH and 3 kids off to paperarts today just for a little wander round you know how it is. Bought some bits and whilst stroking them lovingly in the pub, DS2 chucked his glass of coke over them!!!!!!!!!! Managed to dry most of it out on the pub radiators but if anyone wants a yummy 9 year old, please pm me for postage details!

Just 'spoken' to Sarah and I had the feeling that Del said she was going to see family after christmas so perhaps she is still away or does not have access to a computer. Del - if you are out there hope everything is ok and we are missing you here on the Tena Lady chat.
I have some football matches to sort out for Sunday (surprise surprise) but they are both in the village so will still be able to open up the hall for you Del and then may have to disappear at regular intervals to collect muddy kids until Nick gets back from DS2 match where-ever that may be.
Must find some more Maltesers to make cake with - but only enough to make cake as diet started today. got on scales and had a fright (a bit like looking in the mirror!!!) so starvation starts now.

Where do we start ? I could cover Swindon on my bike tomorrow if it helps !!! And heading up north on Friday , so will check out all stash outlets between here and Yorkshire !!! I am hoping to get back Saturday night , so hoping to make the crop !!! But If Red Leader doesnt come into base before then ???? I will be away for the next mission too , off to OZ on the 17th for a month !!! Got some rocking and some lullaby singing to do !!! Catch you later !!!

Lovelly time yesterday ladies as ever, great to see everyone who was there and sad to miss the ones who couldn't make it.
Sats are out for me usually what with stageschool, tennis lessons, tennis matches, husbands who go shooting and referee ing ( just to make you all feel dizzy at that) so Sundays are better for me I;m afraid.
Sally - spoke to DH and he was ok for retreat weekend at the house but not May as that is Bonanza but he was ok for April so we will have to decide if we all really want to do it and see what we can arrange!!!!!!
OK 1) thankyou Lorraine for defending me and hope you enjoyed your meal anyway. 2) Rachel LOVE the cake 3) Thanks Del had a great time and Sundays are deffinately best for me (sorry Sarah) 4) Sally DON'T YOU DARE! I will race you - in fact I will see you there this afternoon! Hermafix at 20 paces and last but by no means least 5) Had a great time talking altered art with you Sarah, look forward to the next time.
6) JACKII D E B B I E I S M Y F R I E N D !!!
Oh and thanks everyone for not mentioning tink fondling in any way - oops!
no worries - more than happy to stick with Sundays if it suits the majority - it's just I know it's tricky for Jo because of church and Scrappin Sarah because of the Sunday roast issue (and I was getting the same stick!) - I just wondered if there may be others in the same boat.

Ladies - this is a real first. Normally when I come back to the thread you are 4 pages on but today I am the first to post after myself yesterday. Oh, thinks 'perhaps a new threat has started will go and check
I don't think there's a new thread - we're just all being quiet!
I was stupidly busy at work yesterday, so no time to chat.
and I'm fed up today as it looks like they might be changing Bry's working week permanently from Mon-Fri to Sun-Thurs. They toyed with this before xmas but it only lasted a couple of weeks. But I think now it'll be a permanent thing :(
That pretty much means no more crops for me boo hoo - as Sunday ones will obviously be out - and I wouldn't want to go to Saturday ones really either as that would effectively be the only day in the whole week we'd get to spend together.
I'm hoping it doesn't happen - they are always talking about changes in that place and they don't all actually end up actioned.

Sarah, bummer about the work thing, hope it doesn't come to anything.
Honeybunny - are we still within the deadline for submissions to SI on wedding theme? I though I'd missed it (i have a couple I'm thinking of sending), but I'll definitely go check now!

Oh no Sarah, that would be awful. Wonder if, in the Summer when the nights are light, we could maybe have an evening one as well for peeps who cant make weekends.

ok. ok. who got it then. The last copy of Expressions from Borders. Cos it wasn't this person here. Had a real good look through all the craft mags, (just in case Rita had hidden the last copy from me), but no, it had gone.
