Ooh please, please let it be the 14th! I have Chrisrj's CJ to do and I need the extra time to come up with something that will do her justice and until I get a new printer for Xmas (woo hoo!) I can't do a thing!

Rose what a lovely son you have! He's so polite and sweet, I'm sure you always think the same :D

I've just been to Merry Hell, just to go to Argos for one thing that is finally in stock, that has been out of stock for weeks and no other Argos store has, that my mom wants to buy my DD for xmas. It was HORRENDOUS! Queues miles long to park, I nearly gave up but one thing kept me going strong.. 'what was it?' I hear you all cry out.. Was it the thought of my DD's tearstained face as she only opened all the toys in the toy shop except the one thing I couldn't get for her? No, surely you've guessed it?... Yes, the Craft Cafe! I finally got to go and I was in heaven! Of course, my Oh is feeling so sorry for me for having to battle the crowds, that he has ironed stuff and cooked dinner!! Hee! Hee! I (almost) feel guilty enough to tell him!

If anyone is interested I'm organising a blue/green fibre swap, if you are the thread is here (if it works) http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/boards/showthread.php?t=85563

I know this is for the Jan chat but really wanted to say a big thank you for making myself, Dawn and Audrey feel so welcome on saturday.

We really enjoyed ourselves and cant wait for the next one (any date is good with me) - obviously the day was helped by me winning the fab first prize in the raffle!!!!

Of course.... I forgot to pick up my heat gun and Dawn's radio (thanks Jilly for picking them up for me) - looking forward to more chat and more fun with the Moxely Massive!!!!!

   Thanks betty - i actually made one last night making my own measurements  .
Came out ok but my stitching was a bit loose  still - good to practice on a mini one as you said so at least i know where the cardstock colours will be, which will help me choose the colours for my large one iykwim ;) .
Right - i will have a go making an even minier one later - i can have a whole family of them
PM box is clear now - i can't help being sooo popular :P

Take care xxxxx

Rosie, I loved the Craft Cafe! I bought embellishments for my Star book, alphabet rub on's, ribbon and some cotton 'paper' to print things on that can be used in scrapbooking, iykwim?! Then I scrambled outta there before I saw anything else! What I liked the look of was that they have a sizzex machine that you can use, £1.00 for a max of twenty mins! I'm not sure of the range of dies they have but, always good to know hey! The only problem is with it is that it's a bit of a jaunt when you have to fit in a visit round work/family etc, but I would definately go again (hee hee!).

And yes, Jill, I did use my voucher that i safely put IN MY PURSE, so that i wouldn't lose it again! And yes, I got what i needed from Argos eventually. The things you have to do for a Baby Annabelle Play Gym! :D

Pippin
05-12-2005, 04:33 PM
Awwww - i feel so much better knowing baby Annabell has a play gym
:D i must make a trip to the craft cafe - haven't been since it opened so i feel i should go to find out if they have improved their stock since then.......for research purposes you understand ;) .

ellejay
05-12-2005, 05:23 PM
OOOhhhh i havent been to the craft cafe yet = i never have time.

Now theres an idea - charge £1 to come use my sizzix :D . Just kiddin - youre all welcome to come round any time for a cuppa n a scrap. (in the creative sense of course! - im a lover not a fighter :D )

Deb - im so glad you all had a good time - im always a little worried that regular crop goers might find mine a little primitive iykwim. Its getting better tho :D.

Rachel nipper where are you - i think we scared one away

Lisa, as a seasoned crop go-er (oo-er) I can categorically state that the Moxley crop is one of the best I've ever been to - we have a Hostess with the Mostest, plus the best shopping in the West Midlands (hhhmmm, maybe I'm biased? :P :nono: ), and to agree with Deb, an absolutely fabulous atmosphere, so there!

Woohoooo everyone. lovely to actually put faces to the names that I have been chatting to on here before Saturday.

Crop was super Lisa, and as Deb says, at least it was warm lol. You will have to come over to see us at the Birmingham crop just to see how cold it actually is, and when we say cold we mean COLD. lol

Party was good, but I was very poorly all day sunday. I suffer from IBS, but get it very very severely and are finding it hard to find foods that I can eat without being violently ill. I did bring my own sarnies with me on saturday but I also sneaked a few of the snacks on my plate too and did I pay for it yesterday?????

Im NEVER EVER gonna eat again lol.

Right am off to go cook some veggie casserole, probbaly about the only thing these days that i can eat without worrying about the after-effects.

Thanks again for a super crop and you will DEFINITELY be seeing us regularly!!

Poor Dawn (Scrappy-doo-dee) hope you don't 'pay for it' for too long mate

Thanks hun, its bad when you are starving and sitting there watching others eat your favourite foods. I can no longer eat curries or anything spicey, anything greasy or fatty, cannot eat a macdonalds, too much dairy, too much dough, pastry, white bread or starchy, and so the list goes on ................

I can eat vegetables though, although Im supposed to avoid "gassy" ones such as broccoli, cabbage, sprouts and cauliflour as these are no good either lol

Looks like a plate of peas for me on Christmas Day eh???

Who won the scoubidoo comp????

ellejay
05-12-2005, 09:16 PM
Oh Dawn how awful hun! I CANNOT imagine a life without chocolate and curry. And your so cheerful despite that AND your poorly back. Id be positively miserable - I dont even do headaches quietly! :D Well i hope you get back on your feet soon hun ((((cyber dairy-free hugs)))) :)

Thanks for all your fab comments about the crop. I love doing it and I love meeting you all (old n new) but i am a born worrier, I worry about everything, and if everythings ok i worry something will go wrong and if nothing goes wrong i worry about having nothing to worry about. Yup, im a worrier and a fusser. :D

Anyway, scoubidou comp was jointly won by Dawn R and Sam (Cenedre).

Am planning next months game already!

Right now im off to attempt my team cj and then if i have time im gonna look at my new books!!! (thanks Chris n Dawn))

To be honest Lisa Im still finding my way around the IBS Bible lol. My mom has it too but I am so much worse than she is, she can eat a whole lot more foods than I can gggrgrrrrrrr.

Since I was knee high to a grasshopper Ive always had curry Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, am still thinking what on earth I can have as a substitute this year. Might have to be mushroom risotto me thinks lol.

Morning everyone

Well done you two for getting your piccies in the final. I have cast my vote and wait patiently for the results.

Had more veggie casserole yesterday plus was cooking for DS and pinched a bit of his cheese - wish I hadnt done that now lol. You can tell how poortly Ive been I havent even had a malteser since last week, and I normally get through a bag a night lol.

Ooeeer hope maltesers dont become a trigger - life would not be worth living lol.

DEB - Thanks for the big tube of maltesers you gave me saturday, that was really kind of you. Havent eaten them yet biut as soon as Im better then they wont last long. Had to hide them in the meantime though from DS.

JILLY - Thanks for picking up my stereo, I know its only the one I listen to when outside and in my nail room but it still works lol. In fact if you dont get to see Deb to drop it to her before the next crop just bring it along to that so that.

As for my IBS it is horrible, my mom was diagnosed last year and she can eat a whole lot more than me. My trigger list seems to be endless.

LISA - 14th suits me fine too, as 7th seems a bit close to christmas and the new year and as DP will have had to have missed his saturdays fishing on christmas and new years eve I doubt he will appreciate missing it again on the 7th lol. So 14 is much better for me too.

Going to the Pie Factory this weekend for a christmas meal with DP's dad and wife and have had to phone them up and arrange a special meal for me as everything contained something that would make me ill. The thing is the next day we are booked to go to the Crystal Mines to see Santa Clause and I cant afford to be ill as DS would be heartbroken to miss that.

What you all having for christmas? Anything exciting? Not sure what Im having yet, although I may order my Craft Robo soon so Ill have something new to play with even if I dont get any other exciting toys on the day lol.

SECRET SANTA - Thanks for my loveley gift, havent opened it yet its under the tree still, which has surprised me as I expected DS to open all my stocking swap pressies, advent swap presses and all the pressies I have had from so many of UKS members this week. Roll on Christmas Day lol.

On the subject of pooh (hope youve ate your flapjack claire) - anyone know owt about toddler diarrhoea?? James had it for nrly 3 weeks but all his samples are coming back normal  . Tried cutting out junk, and did 48 hour fluids only but still no luck. Cant cut out dairy cos he loves milk n yoghurt and will not go to bed without half pint milk.

Kieran has it the opposite way around, he suffers from constipation. They said that too much milk can cause constipation so I would say that James is ok as he is the opposite way around. If he is the opposite to Kieran does he eat alot of fibre, iron etc that Kieran is lacking and should be eating more of?

Yep I bought a Craft Robo, well actually its a xmas pressie from DP as he just gave me the money and told me to order some stuff. So I thought rather than just spend it on loads of small bits and pieces Ill spend it on one big thing. Wanted to order it as close to xmas as possible but yet not so close as it didnt arrive in time lol.

Jilly, have you pm'd me your address? Deb and I will be over sometime after 7pm ok? Just got to a map so we dont get lost lol.

Cant wait!!

Thanks Jilly Ive got your address now i just need to do a map for us so we dont get lost and lose valuable robo time lol.

Hes always suffered from it and can go 3-4 days without going

Kieran can go for 3-4 weeks before going and by that time he looks 9 months pregnant. Its something hes always suffered from too.

His diet is bad though, I know what he should eat, its just getting him to actually eat it. His latest trick is when its in hos mouth he will just sit there for hours and hours with it there and not swallow it. So much so that in the end I have to make him spit it out.

Morning everyone,

Lisa... sorry I'm late with my thankyous.. I've got bare feet at the mo and had to wait for the cleaner to come disinfect the floors in here before I ventured in  Anyway, thankyou so much for a brilliant crop last Saturday, it was a lot of fun! I still have my one remaining scooby and there's no way that Betty woman is getting her hands on it... it's MINE mwahahaha!

Angie, I'm glad you got the cardstock for your starbook. I'd love to see a pic of it when it's finished... the same goes for you Lisa and Jayne!

Rose, yes the Christmas Market was wonderful, Sam absolutely loved it. If anyone hasn't been, it's well worth a visit. We took loads of photos there, sniffed up the amazing smells of roasting nuts, sausages, garlic bread and other goodies... tasted the seriously scrummy Stollen... stuffed our faces with a huge platefull of fried potatoes and mushrooms... then went to Centenary Square for more photos. The wheel is amazing, it's all pink! There's an outdoor skating rink in the square too and a huge Christmas tree. I took over 100 photos in all... I feel another journal coming on!

Speaking of journals... anyone else doing Shimelle's Christmas Journal class? I know you are Lisa, how are you getting on? I don't see any pics from you on the board?????

Right, better get on... hope everyone is well and has no further digestive problems :P

I was scared shi*less all the way through it  - definately one of those films you have to catch on the cinema to appreciate the effects - oh and Kate...thats where the gorgeous men were, in front of my very eyes last night (drool drool drool)

Changing the subject comepletely...anyone fancy making my Christmas cards for me? I still have loads to make before next weekend - why didn't anyone warn me that making xmas pressies was more hassle than it's worth???! lol Realised at lunch time that I started a 6x6 album for my mum with photo's of all her pretty flowers in the garden from the summer......I started it at the end of August and guess what? Yup it's still not finished!!! :o   So, I need some santa's helpers, or maybe I should say Betty's helpers, one for xmas cards, one on flower album duties, one on paint cans, and if another could sort out my xmas shopping and clean my house I'd be more than happy!!

Hi all, I have been logging in keeping up with the chat but haven't had long enough to sit and post anything, and this weekend is just not going to be any easier! My DD has more parties to go to than I can keep up with, one last night, one today after gymnastics then an invite to tea then don't even get me started on her social life for tomorrow!!

Jill, I love your pics of the last LO, I wish I could be there to see your mom's face when she gets it! What's your next project going to be?

Lisa, did you get any advice from your GP, about your lad? drs at work were a bit non-committal seeing as I hadn't got all the facts, ie: I couldn't remember how old you said he was, does he have a temperature, is he pale looking, what's his appetite like, is it anything in particular that may be a 'trigger'.. that sort of thing. Sorry, not much help. :(

On another note, started to put up my decs yesterday, and the tree should be up today as long as my OH sticks to The Plan :D

See you later girls TTFN

Hes 2, and perfectly 'normal' aside from his little prob. Dr has NO idea what it is but i think i may have stumbled upon the cause....totally accidentally....i think its ....wait for it.....TAP WATER  I dont use tap water you see (unless boiled) I have a water cooler and buy spring water in 19L bottles. Well i ran out and forgot to reorder and it takes AGES to get a delivery. Well water came and all day yesterday he drank bottled water and this morning there is an improvement. Fingers crossed.

Off to look at Jillys LO's and count numbers for date of crop.

Hmm yes, have a feeling that Ade won't be having his Christmas break as planned now. Have just heard one of our drivers chatting to BBC, so at least one of them is safe. All very worrying though, it's my worst nightmare that Ade is working and something like that happens at his depot, kind of brings things home to you seeing this today. Ho hum, sorry for bringing the boards down today!

Realllly must get cracking with this journal again. And I'm adopting a newbie! Hurrah! Well she's not signed up yet, but my sisters MIL wants to do a heritage album and has never scrapped before so I'm going down to help her out and get her started next weekend :D Do I warn her about the addiction now or once I've got her hooked? A scorpion cast - according to smax - is the outer shell of the creature that has been shed so it can grow. The cast was about an inch long and attatched to some USA grapes I bought in Morrisons. Apparently the Scorpion should be long gone as they cant survive our cold.
The grapes are still outside

Elizabeth -
In the advanced message section - scroll down underneath the message part and there's a box for attaching files.....that's where you tell it attach the pic to and it becomes a thumbnail! File size is 250k

Hope everyone else is well - there seem to be a lot of lergies doing the rounds at the mo so hope nobody catches anything!!

Nothing much of interest happening here - except DH got the phone bill this morning with calls to Iraq on it.........I am not flavour of the month..........£135.56 - OMG and that's just this month!!!!!

Woo hoo! Count me in for the 14th, looking forward to it already! Haven't started on Chris's Cj yet, but I have a small seed of an idea so hopefully it'll work  I'm going to try and be a bit more adventurous....

Well my decorations are all up now, just waiting for OH to put the train onto the tree, it's a train track that goes halfway up the tree and santa goes round and round in his sleigh singing various tunes. I got it from QVC a few years ago and it's soooo tacky but I love it!

Jill... I love your tree and that gorgeous mantle decoration too, thanks for sharing a pic. Eeeek at your phone bill though!! Anyone else going to post a pic of their tree? Jayne... we want to see that train!!! My tree still isn't up but I will post a pic when 'im indoors finally get it down from the loft so I can get it decorated!

Kate... lucky you getting your kitchen finished! Right now I'd be happy to get three new doors hung. Mind you they've only been standing in my hall for three years, I don't think that's quite long enough yet is it?

Re the phone bill - have emailed DS and told him we need to talk faster to cut down phone time - problem is the time delay pauses between each sentence!!!!!!!! Ok, ok enough, I give in! I will take a pic as soon as the train is up and running, and attempt a 'thumbnail'! You do realise that now means i have to turn into 'screaming harpie woman', until he gets up and does it

By the way, Betty, I felt awful last night when I realised I had posted and not sent you my good wishes, but I hope everythings ok with your OH, and hope everything resolves in time for Crimbo, or at least just resolves safely for all involved.

Aww bless you Jayne, thanks :) Well all in all things are better than I thought they would be, obviously there's not much left of the terminal, trucks, equipment, but hey, those can all be replaced. Thankfully, and I still can't quite believe it, noone was killed, all of our guys were accounted for, most have minor injuries and I think one's still in hospital, but they're all still here and that's all that matters. OH is fine, a little frazzled but that's nothing new! lol Still, only 3 more days to work and we should be on holiday!!!! :D *Betty does a happy dance* lol

Carry on dancing hun!!

Ok I have tried to test out a thumbnail on another thread but it won't upload because the file is too big. How can I make it smaller, Jill, do you know?

Hi Jayne - you need to resize the image in Adobe photoshop or similar software. It needs to be no more than 250k so if you make the dpi about 72 and the photo size about 4"x3" it should say its about 250k then save it as a JPEG and then it should upload!! Is that as clear as mud?? Sorry!
Hope you've all had a good Sunday - only just managed to prize DH off Ebay so I could sign in!!

Glad you are on the mend Lisa... :)

I had such plans this weekend... lots of things lined up to get sorted and finished ready for Christmas. All I managed to get done was tidy the front room and put the tree up!!!

I did go to a crop on Sunday, and Lisa... please reserve another place for me, I have a friend who would love to come for the day. Her name... Kathy :)

I have now given up all hope of catching up on the Shim's Christmas Journal until AFTER Christmas!!! Will give me something to do, :)

Hi Jayne - you need to resize the image in Adobe photoshop...

Thanks Jill, I will investigate further now, I have got Adobe photoshop but haven't had chance to work it out yet. Santa and his train went up briefly on the tree the night before last but he's gone on strike! The motor has burnt out we think, Kev (my OH) tried to fix it but part of it is now in bits! I managed to get a photo of what's left so you'll get an idea of what it looks like - if I ever work out how to resize these pics! I'm off on a works night out tomorrow at The Goodyear's Pavillion (Robbie William's Tribute Night) so I shall have a go on Wednesday with a bit of luck.

I'm just not having any luck with anything electrical at the moment! First the computer played up, then the printer fritzed then 'the coke on keyboard' incident, now santa and his magic tree ride ain't playing nicely! Let's just hope I've had me lot now!
