Hi. Can I join please ?

I am a bit confussed about the amount of fibre though. Sorry, my brain power has been used up Christmas shopping today.

Do I get 30m of each fibre and cut it into 10 lots of three metres ? Then make up 10 bags of one of each of the four fibres meaning there will be 12m all together in each bag ?

Sorry to turn the thread into a Maths puzzle :D

I'm a bit annoyed as I ordered fibres for this swap when I joined on the 4th December with an online wool shop and I haven't heard a peep from them since and no wool has arrived. I have e-mailed a couple of times but still nothing. Anyway today I thought I better go to a local craft shop to get some for a back up just incase. Fatal error as I spent £50 on stuff I really 'needed' but they didn't really have obvious blue or green two of them are kind of mixtures. So if my online order doesn't come through soon then I hope everyone will forgive me if they are disappointed with my back up fibres. Thanks.

Debs, the phone rang and I answered it and was talking back to you but it appeared you could not hear me as I was shouting at the top of my voice. Everytime you said "can you hear me" I shouted "YES" lol.

Was rather upset again last night though, took my chinchilla to the vets and found out that the reason he was snuffling was not because of a cold, but more to do with the fact he had a tumour growing in the back of his throat. Had to have him put to sleep, broke my heart just keep sitting here looking at my empty cage.

31-12-2005, 09:16 AM
Awww! Scrappy (((hugs))) I'm sure you did the kindest and most responsible thing

I hate seeing animals suffer just because their owners either won't take them to the vets or can't bear to part with them  It makes me fume when they say a trip to the vet costs too much (why get an animal then), or that we can't assist people to pass over quickly, so why should we do it for animals!

Crikey the bag's not that big. Don't expect a huge great parcel, I would of thought it would of gone through any letter box. Sorry

rosie
05-01-2006, 08:53 AM
Geraldine, don't worry about it...its our postman, he's a right funny fella....if its not a letter you have to go and collect it. Which is a right pain as I work full time.

cw18
05-01-2006, 09:05 AM
Our postie used to try and cram anything and everything through our letterbox -- but when you make cards and have deliveries of cardstock in jiffy bags and decoupage sheets in board backed envelopes, this isn't a good thing.

Then I had a week off work at the start of November, and noticed the post was coming really late -- but towards the end of the week caught a female postie doing the round. She said she'd just taken over the round, and was doing it in the reverse order. So I mentioned the fact I didn't want items putting through if they were a tight fit -- told her what was in them -- so she offered to knock. Told her not to if she was doing the round the 'reverse' way on a regular basis, as hubby works nights and wouldn't be happy at being got up. She offered to find somewhere 'safe' to leave them, but I said I'd rather go and collect... especially as our sorting office is less than a 5 min walk from home.

Anyway, the post now comes earlier (think she must have been told she can't change the order), and even when I'm off we get cards pushed through as she doesn't even bring the big items out with her. But this means that as soon as the card arrives the item can be collected -- either if I'm off work, or by hubby when he gets up around lunch as he can just make it there before they close. If she brought them with her we can't collect until the next day due to the delay you have to leave to allow them to get back.

Think we're getting spoilt now, and we'll really miss her when she takes her holidays or moves off our round

I have had a horrid 24 hours and have just battled my way throught the traffic to go get some storage units from Lidls....got there and there was a massive queue for the three units they had....manager ran a draw ticket system which I thought was really unfair for the poor lass who had been first in the queue...I was a lucky old soul who won one....but gave my ticket to her cus I felt the drwn system was wrong....came home feeling a bit disheartened and found my parcel of fibres sat waiting for me....they are lush and have made me oh so happy....didnt need the storage anyway :)

******TO EVERYONE IN GROUP 2 ONLY********

You may of noticed that one of the sets of fibres you received was only 1mtr lengths, this was just a misunderstanding and was not done intentionally. The lady has offered to cut everyone some more but I feel that this is alot to ask for her to have the postage costs to everyone in the group, therefore I suggest the following:- If you are unhappy about the shortage and feel that you would like some more of these fibres can you please contact ME by pm and I will get something sorted.
If you have any problems with this then please let me know.

thanks
Rose

Rosie...with the amount of gorgeous fibres I received yesterday...getting another length would just be too much....spent a fantastic 1hr yesterday unravelling one that got a bit knotted...didn't realise how therapeutic it was...

Guys the fibres were totally fab...thanks Rosie for doing this swap...now for a pink/red one?... ;)

Thanks Rosie and to everyone who took part.. I got mine yesterday, although one of the dogs opened them before I got home, she obviously appreciates lovely stuff because they were all undamaged. They are all beautiful!!

I think there were some crossed wires somewhere along the line and I am unsure now if it was me or Deb who was providing the sae for the return of our blue green fibres from this swap. Can you let me know the situation and I will arrange to send one myself if we havent sorted this yet as I really cant remember now.

Thanks
