Just getting going with this and have downloaded some kits off the internet. Question is...how do i organise it all?
Should I have a folder for papers... a separate folder for alphabets...ribbons...etc?
Should I leave it on my hard drive or put it all onto a disc?

Chris, It depends how many your going to end up with! I've got all mine in one folder as I don't want to seperate the sets but if it get's to unmanageable I'm going to seperate by style/colour etc. If you are downloading seperate elements then you could set up seperate folders for alphas etc.

I expand mine from the zip files, keeping them together in their kits. Then when I have enough I put them on CD or DVD then catalogue them on photoshop elements. They're catalogued by colour, type & style etc. Photoshop lets you delete them off your harddrive and use them from disc.

Chris - I've downloaded loads and what I do is put each download into its own folder and I keep a record (in a book) of 'who created & where from' for each folder so that when I upload an LO I can give the appropriate 'credit'. I have also backed them all up onto DVD/CD's as I would never remember where I got them from if my PC crashed & I needed to start over again.

I unzip everything select all and type the kit name, artist and website. Then I have seperate folders for everything. This works for me as I prefer to scrap by selecting bits and pieces from different kits. I have got to the point now where I have subfolders as well i.e. backgrounds has colour sub folders.

Thanks girls for your ideas.

I thought I'd want to store all papers together, ribbons together etc but that is proving very complicated!

What I'd like to do is print off a kit so I can file it for reference purposes but still haven't worked out how!

Thanks
