Santa brought my Robo early and I was really excited to set it up last night (thanks for the fab tutorials Bev). The font cutting is fantastic but I can't get the darned paper off the carrier sheet once I've cut it, and I ended up ripping the beautiful letters trying to de-stick them.

Am I doing something wrong ?

I tried cutting the letters both face up and face down, on thin paper and stiff card, but it made little difference. Any help appreciated as I'm stuck  :P

No The carrier sheet is very tacky to start with You have to be extra extra careful. It doesn't stay that tacky. I recently had to wash mine because it was not holding the paper at all. Are you cutting very fine lettering?. Try some chunkier ones to start?.

That's a bummer, Teekay. It will get easier. A few more goes and you'll be able to lift them off quite easily.

Ta for this - I was panicking a wee bit

You're right, the chunkier letters were a bit better. I'll persevere, this gadget is awsome !!

Hi Angela, great to hear from you. As a newbie to scrapbooking I don't know anyone yet - hope to change that soon :)

I've been cutting out lots of exotic dingbats to show off the robo to family. ...Now wishing I hadn't gone so crazy on the celtic designs, there are tons of fiddly wee bits to pick off the carrier sheet now.

Gosh - just realised the time !! Who needs sleep when you have a Robo :D

I use my pricking tool to lift small stuff and letters/words off the carrier sheet and sometimes to lift corners of bigger shapes etc.

The guy from Graphtec who was demonstrating the CR at the NEC used a Stanley knife to lift things from the carrier sheet.

I've been cutting text (Merry Christmas, for cards) inside a rounded rectangle, lifting it off using Scotch Magic Tape, then taking off the negative in the same way. The edge still has to be lifted first, of course.
