New Year Novelty Brad Swap

No round brads allowed. This swap is for anyone who'd like to get a collection of shaped brads. Each member should buy 100 novelty brads (i.e. flower shaped brads) and split them into 10 bags of 10.

Let nellis10 know what you're buying so she can keep everyone different! Label them with your UKScrappers name and your group number (if applicable), and then send them to nellis10. She'll do the rest. Please include a label with your name and address and return postage with your brads.

There will be one group of 10, but if there's enough demand this swap nellis10 will do up to three groups which would make it possible split up any duplicate themes.

Completion By:
Send by 1st January 2006 in order for completion by 15th January 2006 (or as soon as all brads are received by host)

Hi everyone and welcome to my first hosting swap. :D

I've decided on a Novelty Brad swap as I think there is lots of scope for different brads...flowers...square...coloured...hearts...you name it! :) And we can always do with more brads in our stash pile... :lol:

So if you would like to join the swap, post or PM me. If we get more than 10 members, we'll go onto the next group and possibly a third.

Please let me know once you have joined, your choice of brad, so we can have variety. Different colours of the same shape would be fine.

I've got sherbert mini flowers but because they might be quite small(it did say mini ;) )I also bought 20 rhinestone brads so will give 2 each of those as well to everyone along with the 10 flowers if thats ok. :D

Hiya everyone - I will be having a look online later to see if I can buy 100 brads for this swap. I know there is Ebay, but I don't go on there that often, and when I do, always pay by cheque, which, if I do find any brads, this will result in quite a delay. Is there anywhere else where I can buy them in bulk like this pretty please? :lol:

Ordered mine from the USA on 23/11, but the parcel's not arrived yet :( Looks like I might have to try and get some locally at the weekend instead, but I've never seen anything that I would call 'special'. Will keep you updated.

Hubby just rang me at work to say that the parcel delivery guy dragged him out of bed this morning (hubby works nights) with a parcel from the USA which had customs to pay on it -- and the only one I'm expecting is the one with the brads :D

There is an outside chance it's from a friend in NY, but hubby would normally tell me that as he recognises the name and address on those parcels..... will confirm for definite tonight, but looks like my brads will be in the post on Saturday!!!!

No? Well that's probably because they're not! It just means I ordered tons of stuff while I was at it, as they had loads of scrapbooking cardstock, papers and books on vastly discounted prices! It's going to be one very heavy box. Also means I can get busy with my card making, as it has a punch I wanted for some cards I need to get made before Sunday :wub:

And the really good news is that I've just got home, so am able to confirm that it IS the parcel with the brads (3 packs of 48) :wub:

Also has 8 packs of 12 sheets of 12x12 papers, 8 scrapbooking ideas mags, 4 rubber stamps (1 PSX & 3 Stampendous), a further 2 packs of 48 star brads (pinks and purples), a pack of 100 mini brass brads, 3 sheets of PSX Christmas Stickers, and a Holly Leaf punch I've not been able to find in stock anywhere in the UK! Total bill (including postage and customs) of about £90!!!

Many thanks to all in group 2 for the lovely assortment -- I must live an awfully sheltered life as there are some in there which are smaller than any I've ever seen, and colours I've never seen before either! Mind, to get something I could use for this swap I did have to order on-line, as I can't get much apart from plain chrome or brass round ones near me (unless I want to pay £1.79 for 10 really fancy ones!)

And thanks to Nat for organising and the chocs (although I'm a little disappointed to find they weren't a special treat reserved for my package :lol: )
