Hi Claire & Jen
Looking forward to meeting you . You are travelling a distance where are you staying ?

miss_sixty
16-11-2005, 05:07 PM
I'm not staying anywhere, travelling just under two hours, so should be able to get up in time! Jen is staying in Newcastle Under Lyme :)
I have a whole 8x8 album to scrap, as a gift for my brother and sil for Christmas. I also have some ATCs to do, if I haven't done them by then. Some could say I'm a little ambitious! ;)

Hi guys - glad you found the thread.

Yes there will be the magic wand and in the next couple of days I will be issuing you all with a lucky number for the free prize draw on the day to win a Silent Setter.

whizzy
16-11-2005, 07:53 PM
Wow - it's going to be really good to see the old faithfuls (it's been too long as usual!!) and to meet some new faces. Must get organised or I will do my usual & spend half the day just trying to decide which photo to use!!

Getting all excited now!!

Love Whizzy xx

SueC
16-11-2005, 09:26 PM
Don't forget Gayle will be presenting three papercraft classes that you can book and pay for on the day - they will cost about £5 each - so if inspiration is lacking in your pages you can have a go at them instead :D

song
16-11-2005, 11:53 PM
Woot great!

I still have the kit for Gayles last class. One day I may get organised ......

I will problably bring all my finishing off work so I can get some into my album. Will I still qualify for the joining in with the wand or is that cheating?

I'm getting excited too Whizy.

I hope everyone will bring their albums so WE (not just me - honest) can all have some inspiration and a good nosey! :D

whizzy
18-11-2005, 07:48 PM

Ooh, a Scrap Canvas class - fabby!

Sue - will try and check my email sometime this week - might pop to my mum's tonight if I can :) Darn work not letting us check hotmail

I was sorting out bits to take yesterday but printed off a photo on DF's printer (not been used in a year) and it came out almost totally green - oops  Good job I'm off on Thursday so I can sort properly :D

Jen - I'll have a note of the lucky numbers with me so doesn't matter if you don't get that. So you can do a mapquest search the address of the place is:

Cheadle Hulme Methodist Church, Ramillies Avenue, Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, SK8

There isn't all that much else on the e-mail. Does anyone want me to PM my mobile phone number in case they get lost (not that I'll be much use! )

Thanks Sue :) Claire gave me the postcode last week so I have my route planned :D Now just have to worry about DF making a 5 hour round trip to Henley in Arden between 10 and 6 - is he really going to make it back in time, having never done the trip before?!!

Thanks Claire :) Where we are staying is an hour from Cheadle and an hour and a bit from Henley, but right by all the other family members (the original reason for going). It is the going up and down that takes time

I'll let you know if it seems it will make more sense that way :)

Re colour question, the kits are : Jingle Bells (using Basic Grey Blitzen Jingle Bells, Cranberry and Ribbon Stripes) is Blue, Red, Green (wouldnt have to be Christmassy tho)
Anyone Anyone? (Using Gin X Anyone Anyone) is Brown, Light Blue and Cream
Chocolate Cherish (Using Chatterbox Gallery Chocolate) is Brown, with Gold....

The classes are basically a kit which I run through 'How to make it' step by step and by doing so it teaches everyone the techniques included within the layout etc..... there is always enough left over in the kitsto create your own layouttomake it a double layout.... andI always put apiccie of my second page layout on the'How to sheet' for inpisration...and amonlytoo happy to help anyone that needs it. The classes are ideal for people starting out in the world of scrapbooking or people just needing a little inspiration....... or a guiding hand..... The scrapcanvas class is to give people a taster of making layouts onto canvas for putting on the wall or giving to friends and family as personal gifts... they are fab.....

Chrissie - I would say one (or two, or three!) of the classes would be perfect for you - Gayle has a lovely eye for colours / styles and will take you through your first layout so it is a nice, rewarding experience which will take the fear from it all for you :D

Just to confirm girls WE ARE GOING AHEAD! I believe the weather forecasts of the past few days have been exaggerated (unless you are in Scotland - it ALWAYS snows there!) and therefore I don't think it is going to be as big an issue as we first thought. I have sent out an e-mail to everyone to confirm and I look forward to seeing you all on Saturday :D

Ooh - glad I came on line - haven't got access to my e-mail today so didn't know about potential cancellation! Snow is very light here in North Wales so hopefully not a problem as the weather forecast is to get better.

Sue - could you pm me a phone number just in case I wake up and there are feet of snow?

And any advice of what photos might be good for the classes (apart from Sepia already mentioned - I think I have one or two of those I can bring).

SOOOO looking forward to this - I have had a curate's egg of a week and the horrible bits have been truly horrid - a creative break is just what I need.

See y'all tomorrow!

We all got this email:
I have copied into this e-mail a website address which should take you to the map of where the church is - you can then zoom out from this map to find the roads to get there from where you are. In case this link doesn't work the full address of the church is Cheadle Hulme Methodist Church, Ramillies Avenue, Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, SK8

When you pull into Ramillies Avenue you immediately turn left into the Church carpark. Drive round to the side of the church where you can come in the side door. We will be keeping an eye out for everyone to arrive.
