AJ
17-11-2005, 12:25 AM
fabby ideas so far for themes. now who can make blinkies???

fishface
17-11-2005, 09:58 PM
Am hopeless on IT so no good with blinkie...sorry :( For my topic I would like "Quotes that make you go mmmm" if that's OK? Thought it would be a nice way to get to know people & can include anything; funny/heartwarming/encouraging/inspirational or just downright gushy!! Also gives people the opportunity to go plain & simple of compleatly mad if they want to! Is that OK?

mafswife
17-11-2005, 11:19 PM
sounds good to me fishface - do you go any another name? That is too funny!

fishface
18-11-2005, 07:22 PM
While I do have a real name (honest it's not on my birth cert - its a family nickname but hopefully not cos I have a fish face!!...umm...)!! I generally post as that because of my job & unusual real name it's better to be anon! Have PM's you the real one ...not trying to be suspicious or cagey just want to be careful! This is the internet after all!! LOL!! Sound like I russian spy but I'm not honest! OK. I'll shut up now.

winterbaby
18-11-2005, 07:43 PM

fishface
25-11-2005, 12:12 AM
Ley me know how you get on yummy scrummy mummy (pmsl!!)...if you have no joy will ask my source but suspect a bribe may be required of they are to do a blinkie so your source may be better (& cheaper on my part!!!!). Will keep checking in to see! (ps source is married so for those of you thinking RUDE thoughts STOP!!!!!)

Matiepeeps
25-11-2005, 12:43 AM
I wouldn't mind having a go at a blinkie if we have no luck anywhere else. I tend to be able to pick up computer programs quite quickly so let me know if we get stuck. :)

crikey, I have only ever had one cocktail and I have no idea how to make it  Hope no-one else chooses the same one :P

Looks like you'll need to do some research Tracy. :D

fishface
27-11-2005, 07:48 PM
he he!! O seem tohave caused a stir!! (geddit?!!)...yes definate research needed! You can locate recipes on the net but could always go to local bar which would prob be cheaper! My recipe is a speciality but you can only have a max of 2 as they are fab but (a) knock your block off (fab!) & give you a horrendous hangover (pukingly horrendous in my case!!) the next day! As for a man that makes you go umm & makes cocktails...what you sitting there typing for girl! Get down to that bar NOW!!!! LOL!! Just sussed out london-kiwi (bit slow on the uptake me!). Which part of NZ do you hail from? Manu cat is named after a gorgeous kiwi girl (unsurprisingly called manu!) who I met on an explore holiday in Egypt!

ldnkiwiscrapper
27-11-2005, 08:09 PM
you know fishface, i have wanted to ask you about the name manu. that name takes me back to my childhood and a tv program called playschool. on there was a Maori doll called manu!.
i'm from Christchurch on the South Island.

as for MMMMMMMMman....he lives and works in Seattle, and we only ever talk online, but.....***fans herself**.....hes gorgeous!!. i'm sure he'd give me a recipe!!.

AJ
27-11-2005, 08:30 PM
and a photo???????????

ldnkiwiscrapper
27-11-2005, 08:35 PM

Jay
30-11-2005, 11:53 PM
About to start making my journal for this swap. It's something I haven't tried before, but I saw one in the gallery and am dying to have a go.

winterbaby
01-12-2005, 01:09 PM
I'm gonna do 8x8 size for my cj, unless that will be too big for everyone, let me know please ok!

AJ
01-12-2005, 01:41 PM
is it a pre made album? or are you making it yourself?

winterbaby
01-12-2005, 08:58 PM
Yep I am making it myself :) I've cut two 8x8 pieces from a card bourd box and I'm using bookrings to hold everything together. I've made it allready just haven't decorated it yet.

AJ
01-12-2005, 09:45 PM
I only asked as i am currently in a cj and someone actually used a pre-made 8x8 album and it costs me £8 to post it on.

But if you have made it yourself, then it is a lot lighter :)

I am not even going to think about making my journal until after christmas.

TracyTeaBag
01-12-2005, 10:29 PM
I have made mine to keep it light, I would think if you were using an 8x8 album, then it would be fairest to post the page inserts with bookrings and some card covers for protection, you don't actualy need the album after all

ldnkiwiscrapper
01-12-2005, 10:51 PM
i havent even thought about making or buying mine....far to busy choosing subject matter....lol!!

winterbaby
01-12-2005, 11:13 PM
I've also made a 6x6 that I could use instead and they are not actual albums, I make mine from cardboard and I intend to send mine by padded envelope not by pizza box, now thats where the cost of postage comes in as I have sent a few pizza box cj's on in past cj groups from other members.

mafswife
01-12-2005, 11:44 PM
I agree padded envelope would be preferable for posting... keep costs down. I'm undecided about making or buying mine as yet...

winterbaby
02-12-2005, 10:45 AM
Thanks Ann :) Morning all and Merry Christmas :)

ally16
02-12-2005, 11:39 AM
Morning all, sorry ann I forgot to get back to you with my theme before I went off on my holiday. I was thinking - Dreams that make you go mmmmmmm - that gives a bit of scope for interpretation. Will have to ask you to keep it clean though everyone

Matiepeeps
02-12-2005, 11:51 PM
Ooooh Ally that may be tougher than you think! LOL Just Kidding! Great theme though!

Great will have to get my thinking cap on for some of these! Have just woken up to a very wet & rainy Cardiff!! Yuck! Have a good day! Am off to be incredibly exciting by cleaning my sofa & the flat which looks like a bomb has hit it. Never looks like that in teh movies does it eh!!

winterbaby
03-12-2005, 11:32 AM
I'm going to do the same thing mdear, after I have a cup of coffee and a warmed up mince pie that is  :D

mafswife
03-12-2005, 11:23 PM
housework...? I am confused - what is this task you speak of?

fishface
04-12-2005, 01:45 AM
Sadly it is a necessary task being the owner of four feline inhabitants! A hoover is a contraption that sucks up hair, cotton, corners of ohoes, beads etc so that they (hopefully!) dont end up scattered around teh house, in washing up bowl etc!! sad but much more exciting that tonights TV schedule alas!! Note to self: replace own life with someone who has a more exciting one which contains male specemin (? sp!) & larger bank balance!!!!

ldnkiwiscrapper
04-12-2005, 09:24 AM
Note to self: replace own life with someone who has a more exciting one which contains male specemin (? sp!) & larger bank balance!!!!

The male specimen would only add to the clutter if my house is anything to go by! :D
Wouldn't change him for the world though.

fishface
04-12-2005, 10:26 PM
Seems I have hit upon a niche in the market!! Hoover has not left the cupboard as had mirgaine...wanted to start on my cover today but never mind...pleanty of time! Have lots of time of over Christmas so will get it done...also want to redecorate my bathroom. A bloke did it for me (paid!) but its rubbish so need to redo it myself properly!! Must ensure that male specimin can decorate!! Quite enjoy it when I get going & am the very proud owner of a drill, sander etc - & I can use them all!! Only thing I dont do is heights!! How you all doing with the run up to Christmas? The whole world seems to have gone mad!! For some reason this year people seem more stressed than normal or is it just me that feels like that?!! Anyway...off to potter!

How you all doing with the run up to Christmas? The whole world seems to have gone mad!! For some reason this year people seem more stressed than normal or is it just me that feels like that?!! Anyway...off to potter!

Almost finished my Christmas shopping now, thank goodness. Having said that, I make quite a lot of my presents.

i have the last few bits to organise, but am mainly done - good thing about having teens is that they normally only want 1 thing (expensive thing normallly!!), but at least quick and easy to get!!

both of mine are having mobiles, can't wait for christmas morning when they are testing out all the different ring tones

I have all my Christmas presents bought and most of them wrapped. Just need to get DS his which will be easy as he has said he wants Thomas' Engine sheds for his wooden railway. I've also been picking up things here and there for him. The tree is up and decorated and we have a lovely organic chicken to roast for Christmas day (I dont like turkey much).

I've started on my CJ but still have a lot of work to do on it until Im happy with it. I've also started the two other CJs I have coming up in January. Im not too stressed at the moment although I know I need to send the presents to family in Australia off like yesterday!

Oops...I seem to be the least organised of all! Sorry you had a bad year yummy mummy...hope the next one is better! I always love new years eve; I say in with bottle of champage; look at last years resolutions, always fail miserably & start again in Jan! Can relate to wanting this year away, mixed but not great! As for Christmas pressies I've got...umm 2....loads of time left! May get the tree this weekend! but did start to decorate the cover of my cj today...now covered in turquoise ink from handmade paper! Sounds as if everyone has been very busy & I definately feel behind!! As a point of principle I dont start shopping until Dec so a familliar feeling!! Take care all & keep your chin up as the world goes mad about you! Watching the last Greys anatomy...am going to be bereft without it...dr mc dreamy..ummm...think he may make it as a cj entry!!

winterbaby
31-12-2005, 12:33 PM
What a lovely photo of your Gran. Your photo looks 3 dimensional to me, and by this I mean I don't just see a photo of your Gran, I can see stories and many adventures during her lifes journey. Your photo just radiates a life well spent. I like to think that images on photo's aren't just flat copies of loved one's past and present for you to look at now and then, but images of loved one's that tell you something more than that pose the're in on the photo, like something else you remember they did or said that day that you couldn't capture in a photo . Such photo's as these have such depth to them, so when ever you look at your scrapbooks of past and present look not only with your eye's but with your minds eye too, and you'll unlock such a riot of thought, colours and emotions of that day. Now call me daft if you like, but that is what I see when I look at my scrapbooks.

I'm using a paper bag book about 6x6 size and there is enough pages for everyone to do a double page layout. What size and cj is everyone else doing?? I'd like to make a note of sizes in case of any delays like holidays and or not being able to send on posting days, so I can work on my layouts before hand and have them ready to stick straight in and send to the person I'm posting to, and it saves rushing at the last minute making loads of mistakes that sort of thing.

Hi, Is it OK if I post my CJ tomorrow (If I can)? My granny went into a coma last night & I think its best to post now to avoid holding up when the inevitable happens...is that OK? I am OK - feel disjointed in a way but also feel I said my goodbyes at Christmas; havent decided whether to go up to be with her yet but right now feels right to be here - shes surrounded by people who love her & practically only so many people can fit in the room! Apparently she is very peaceful so really just waiting!

Thank you all for lovely thoughts....have been keeping busy but taken some time off work & have been merrily "doing" crafty stuff to keep me sane....
Lets not be all depressed though eh! What news of peoples CJ, how are you all doing?! Am I the only one who is struggling not to add more to it?!! Will try & upload some later - has anyone else uploaded so I can peek?

mine went off recorded this morning but had to resort to ribbon as bookrings wouldnt be big enough!! Thanks for hugs...she's still hanging in there! WIll upload my "tim" inspired slide that I have sent to everyone & attaching a photo so people can see who I'm talking about at least! She is a real character...hitchiking at 90, pinching waiters bums with the comment "I'm in my 90's I'll get away with it!" (unsurprisingly she did!) to name but a few....
