Hi There Natalie
Thank you for adopting me. I have to admit I have been a bit bamboozled by the site. Everyone seems to know what they are doing and what site to use. I am quite new to scrapbooking, but attended the Bristol Scrapcamp first w/end of this month.(fab time had by all) I tried using my computer (Photosuite 7) to digiscrap only last night (well I was a bit squiffy) I would love to know how to use my computer to print out titles I can hand cut. I need all the help I can get to learn about everything. Can I contact people who I know on UKS or do I have to wait for my official adoption papers to come through????. Purr Purr
PS my hubby said he would buy me a sizzix machine has anyone got one of the new ellison ones that take sizzix dies? I wanted a big machine as I like to make tags.

well to start with, you will definately get the hang of the site and in no time at all you'll be addicted!! you will be able to send personal messenges (pm's) to the people you know as soon as you have totted up a few posts, i think it's 10. i have to say i have never tried digi scrapping, do you do paper scrapping as well, or do you just do the digital. there is a forum especially for digi scrapping, so if you have any specific questions about that, just start a new thread, and ask away. I have a quikutz machine, which i'm not overly keen on, i'm gonna get myself a sizzex for x mas!! i can't wait!! i think the sizzex machine does cut big tags, but if you want to you can do a search on this site for ellison, and see if anyone has posted about them before, if not, then start a new thread in the general scrapping area asking what people thought of them. everyone on here is really really nice, and the gallery is full of inspiration, and most people don't have a problem with you scraplifting, as long as you pm them to let them know if you want to post it on here in your gallery, and you have to give them credit.
with hand cut titles, it's really easy and there are so many different looks you can get with it. first find a font you like, which can be either one already on your computer, or there are tons and tons of free fonts on the internet for you to download (there are loads of links in the library) type up your title, and get it to the size and colour you want. then print onto card and cut. or you can print it onto paper, then using a lightbox, or a window trace the title onto your card and then cut. i hope this is what you meant, if you want more advice just let me know. I think that was everything.
enjoy your weekend. x x

Thanks for the fab advice. I mostly do paper scrapping, and like to have lots of embellishments. I subscrible to The Scrapbook Magazine and eagerly await it each month ( they had a mini reveiw of the new ellison machine) but I also buy other scrapbook mags. Do UKS have free fonts that I can download ? I know they have font of the week!. I will venture out with my thread re the ellison machine. Hopefully if the news is good Santa will bring us both one!!

oooh I hope so!! lol
UKS don't have free fonts as such, but they do have a lot of links to fonts etc in the library, you should go check it out cause there is some quiet cool stuff in there. Quote sites, on this day in history sites, free vintage image sites, and also sites on different techniques that people have stumbled across.
I love the scrapbook magazine, and scrapbook inspirations. am about to try and subscribe to an american one to, although i can't remember the name of it!! lol
