anyone starting a CJ? [Archive]

Hi I keep checking here to see if there are any new CJs starting up, but so far have had no luck.

I am currently involved in our team cj, which is due to complete in 3 weeks and would love to get involved in another.

am I looking in the right place?

I'd probably think with Christmas and everything coming up that new CJs will cool off until the new year. I keep looking too... can't seem to get enough of them! :lol:

Phew! I panicked slightly when I re-read the messages and really didn't want you to think I was barging in!

Anyway, I would think that since you've taken part in several cjs there shouldn't be a problem with you hosting one.

Anyone got any ideas for themes? Are we looking for a 'group' theme or various individual ones? Hmmm, off to get thinking cap on!

We could apply to get approval for a new cj with the proviso that it wouldn't start till January sometime - not sure how long it takes to get approval at the minute but people might be quite happy to sign up if it's not going to add lots of pressure on at the moment!!

perhaps if there are not enough for 2 cj's then Katie could host and have Pauline participating and providing support to help her with her first one??

I think it sounds like a good idea to get the wheels in motion so we can get our teeth into it after the new year's hangover has passed :P

I am happy with either a theme or general, I quite fancy doing New Year's resolutions, if that fits in, but I don't have my heart set on it :lol:

I'm sure we could organise that. It may be that we have a slightly longer time between postings to allow for international postings, but I would be happy to post to you.

I was thinking about a New Years Resolution one too - just trying to think about how we can all do that if we wanted to - would we end up with the same CJ if we all did the same style page - not sure I can come up with 8 or so resolutions! Or else do resolutions on a theme; you know, a Food resolution or a personal goal, health and so on.

Will check out how to sort out permission for this one, especially as we have people already interested. Want to do it properly, but don't want to miss anyone on the thread out if you see what I mean.

Katie, I pm'd you last night cos for some odd reason I couldn't post a reply to this thread. Weird!

If the cj includes international postings maybe the size of the actual journal should be limited? Just thinking that this would help reduce the posting costs a bit for everyone. I know I spend a fortune posting journals in this country so don't want anyone to be put off by higher costs!

Good idea about the size of the CJ. I have made the last one I joined a paper bag one and it was so light!! Maybe if you've fancied making a paper bag book this could be your chance everyone. They are simple to make (must be if I can manage it!! :lol: )

Will sort out the form tonight and hopefully we can get it sorted before the Christmas rush so we know what we are doing!

Those who are in the know... roughly how long does it take for the international postings to be delivered? (So I can leave a decent gap between posting dates, but not too long!)

Ok i have been away for a couple of days due to family reasons - are the 2 new threads started from here or are they just new threads? Katie or somebody please help. I would like to join a new CJ and dont want to miss out .

Adele, the other 2 CJ's are nothing to do with this thread, just a coincidence that they are opening now I think! Feel free to join them/one of them, or wait until I have clearance for the one I said I would host. I have your name for mine, so I will let you know when it goes onto the thread.

I have put in the request that we will choose our own themes, but I am happy to help out if anyone would prefer a theme. We have quite a few wanting to join so maybe we can have 2 groups with one with a particular theme.

I haven't been able to make it back to this thread...been working all week, but if you are taking international players I would love to join.

I am only in one here with the atc group. We have finished up one round and enjoyed it so much that we are doing another round. My only other cj that I am in is here in the states and I only have one more journal to complete the circle.

What about making the journals out of paperbags?

I know I am probably jumping ahead...I haven't even been accepted yet! If there is still room please let me know.

Louise, I haven't had confirmation that I can go ahead with the CJ yet - I submitted at the beginning of the week - I don't know how long it takes, but I do know that the mods are all very busy people so it will be done when it is done (just so no-one thinks I am hassling for a decision :lol: ) I have kept your name so if we get the go ahead I will let you know and you will be in.

Karen, It is not Pauline that is hosting this one if it is agreed, but me :D I have said on the submission form that it is to be a free theme CJ, so if we do it I think Fairy Dell sounds fun!
