**~**IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER**~**

If it turns out that the weather is bad on Saturday (Snow is forecast for Friday - NOT Saturday at the moment) - the crop will still be going ahead. The roads from the A14 through the villages, right up to the T Junction at my road, are normally always clear (unless we have MAJOR snowstorms) - the Gritter Lorry ALWAYS comes right up to the T Junction, so we are very lucky and can usually bank on clear roads. HOWEVER - if the Snow is bad in Essex, where Cheryl lives, then it may cause a problem for her getting here. If this is the case, she will let me know as soon as possible so that you can warn your families that the sessions will have to be postponed until in the New Year.

We hope this wont be the case, and is very unlikely - but I thought we should just post a warning.

Hope this is acceptable. At this moment in time, the Photo Sessions ARE GOING AHEAD AS PLANNED.... will keep this thread updated!

Thanks.

Welcome ladies to the Chat Thread for our November, early Christmas Crop on November 26th.

We have secured a booking with Cheryl of Feel Good Photos (http://www.feelgoodphotos.co.uk) and have sessions booked for the afternoon/evening. If you havent booked and want more information, email me on the usual address :D

SECRET SANTA

We are doing the Secret Santa again this year, if you wish to take part, please bring a wrapped gift to the value of £5 - scrapping related gift would be preferred - and we will do the draw at some point during the day before anyone has to leave :D

SUPPER CHOICES

We are going to be totally unseasonal and have a spicy Christmas supper so could you please post here and let me know what you prefer.

The choices are:

Chicken Curry (probably a Tikka Masala strength)
Chicken Korma
Vegetable Curry (again Tikka Masala)

If anyone isnt keen on Indian - then let me know and I'll get a Chinese take out box from Tesco's :D

In the meantime, get chatting and let me know who is coming please.

Janice
10-11-2005, 05:42 PM

Annie
10-11-2005, 10:41 PM
I tend not to do classes, Janice. Too much of my own stuff to do!!! :D :D Will ask Shorty when she is awake if she would like to, although there is probably stuff from the kids cybercrop that she missed kicking about that she could do.

Janice
10-11-2005, 10:43 PM
Yes Lucy - sorry Ive been meaning to reply all day and keep getting waylaid!!

Yes, there will be room for your buddy, no problem. We have a couple of our regulars not able to make it this month, so there will be at least a couple of spare places :D

12-11-2005, 05:27 PM
What are the rules for the secret santa ? please...i will do it to..just want to know what i should be doing :)

puddinz
13-11-2005, 08:30 AM
Sue the rules are everyone buys me a present and says that it came from santa I think! Not really - Janice puts the names of the participants in a hat and pulls them out. She will posssibly let you know who you are buying for then you get a pressie for about a fiverish and wrap it up and label it to that person but you dont put who it is from. ALternatively all the presents are put into a big box and you go and choose one that you didnt put in - unless of course you dont know what you bought then its fine. Is that any clearer?

soojay
13-11-2005, 10:19 AM
LOL LOL Yup ...can the gift be any theme or is it to be scrapbooking related/made etyc ??
Thanks :)

Annie
13-11-2005, 10:39 AM
Stevie, I'll bring the next 2 books along with me - that OK? Don't know where my fairy CJ has got to - do you have it yet? If you have it already, any chance I can take it back with me, pretty please with cherries on???

Night Owl
13-11-2005, 10:40 AM
Sue this is what Janice said in her email

CHRISTMAS SANTA....

We did mention this, but I am afraid that I totally forgot and now wonder if I have left it too late?
What do you think? Shall we do a quick draw this week via email, let me know if you are interested, I'll put all the names in a hat and get Chris to draw names and I'll email you back with who you have to get a present for?
Scrapping gift worth £5.00 - how does that sound?

Hope that helps :)

I'm really looking forward to Wyverstone Crop - it feels like ages since the last one.

Happy scrapping everyone

Eileen

Janice
13-11-2005, 05:23 PM
Okay ladies - Lets have a show of hands???

Secret Santa.

Do we want to :

a) Just by a gift (scrappingwise) to the value of £5 and put it in a lucky dip on the day of the crop and we all pull one out each.....

OR

b) I do a draw and let you know which person you are buying for.

Have to say that option B, may be a bit difficult as not everyone is responding to emails or posting on the thread, so it could be a bit late to let them know their 'person' to buy for?

Post your opinions here and we'll go with the majority.

:D :D Ta.

Angie - glad you and Julie are able to make it :D

Ness
13-11-2005, 05:44 PM
I'm planning on being there Janice, but have just realised I've double-booked myself for a progressive dinner in the evening which will mean I'll have to be at home in the day to cook  I'll see the organiser tomorrow and let her know I can't make it, because I wouldn't miss the last Wyverstone crop of the year for anything! :D

Janice
13-11-2005, 05:56 PM
Excellent Vanessa - we'd hate for you not to be there!!!

Will you be bringing 'stash' ;) ;) ;)

Hi

I'd love to know who I'm buying for but realise that time is running out. So I'm happy to go the the flow.

Have a great Monday everyone & happy scrapping

Eileen

puddinz
14-11-2005, 11:10 AM
I am more than happy to do either but as its less work for you Jan I think that a generic scrapping pressie will be great. After all we can never have too many of the basics can we! and what you think of as basic someone else might never have used so sounds great to me. But as always I will go with the flow.

Patricia Nice
14-11-2005, 12:34 PM
Hi Janice
Yes will be at the crop, can't wait :D . Mild curry or chines will be fine for me. Not sure what the class is (don't know how i'v missed this  ) but will say yes, as I'm sure it will be great.
I will join in with christmas santa if your doing it.
Looking forward to seeing you again, it seems to have been ages.

:) Happy Monday !!!!

Janice
14-11-2005, 05:53 PM
Happy monday to everyone too :D

I think we will have to go with a Secret Santa dip to the value of £5 as I am not getting any feedback from some ladies, I know its difficult for some to get online etc, so the best way is the same as we did last year - Lucky Dip.

Page kits made up to the value of £5.00 might be a great idea - we can always do with those cant we :D :D :D

Have just got off the phone booking the hall for next years dates - will post in the first part of this thread :D

Pat!!! Lovely to hear from you and so glad you'll be able to make it :D

Have made a note of next years dates :D End of July at Thornham would be no good for me :( but I guess that's my fault for marrying a farmer!

Ness, don't know how much of that winter Scenic Route you have, but perlllllleeeeesssse can you put me aside a one-of-each pack. Just had a squinny online to see what I should persuade you to bring if you weren't bringing the whole shop, and I just love it. Tell me it is even better IRL and I will die of happiness. :)

Ness brought the shop to Lorraine crop on Saturday so I just had to buy some stash, wouldn't be proper if I didn't & that doesn't mean I can't shop at Wyverstone :D

Lucy C
18-11-2005, 09:03 AM
will anyone shoot me if I bring my Christmas cards to do?

Night Owl
18-11-2005, 09:13 AM
Seems a bit extreme to shoot anyone for anything especially christmas card making :D We may be jealous that your organised though

Eileen

Janice
18-11-2005, 10:18 AM
Did you all get the email about what sort of clothes to bring for the photo shoot?

I am also checking with Cheryl about payment - I am not sure she can take cc's - it might have to be cash or cheques, but will come back and confirm.

:D

Lucy - as Eileen says, wish I could be so organised!

Annie
20-11-2005, 12:59 PM
Well in my defence, it was in the back of the pack of Blitzen papers rather than sorted neatly :) with my cardstock. So I had kinda missed it!

Really looking forward to Saturday. Fed up of bitchiness (is it just me or is there a big outbreak of it recently?) and want to get to a nice cosy friendly crop.

Janice

Annie
20-11-2005, 05:40 PM
Can I just ask about this photo session thing (getting slightly chilly feet LOL). Is she good at putting you at your ease and getting natural pics and stuff? Only I just freeze in front of cameras normally (think rabbit in headlights LOL) and K just poses outrageously and normally looks like a mouthful of teeth!

Janice
20-11-2005, 10:10 PM
Cheryl is brilliant Annie - that was one thing that came across the most at Scrapmanic a couple of weeks ago - how Cheryl goes to great lengths to make you feel comfortable and at ease :D

Did you get my email about clothes etc??

Annie
20-11-2005, 11:17 PM
Yes thanks, Janice. Trouble is we did a big clear out of K's wardrobe as she has grown so much. I think her pics will have to be "au naturelle" LOL as we threw out most of her clothes!!!

Janice
20-11-2005, 11:32 PM
:o

I am sure what ever she wears she will look just adorable with her curls and sweet smile :D :D

Jennie
20-11-2005, 11:42 PM
Annie, you will both be fine. Cheryl's lighting is just fab, it really brings out the best in you. As for putting you at your ease, she's wonderful. She tells you exactly what to do, and has loads of ideas. As far as clothes for dd, just plain t-shirts are great. Just buy a multi pack from the supermarket, and the bright plain colours come up great, but avoid white, it doesn't do our skin colour much good.

Now I've got to colour co-ordinate 5 of us!!

Night Owl
21-11-2005, 12:59 AM
Now that's going to be tough Jennie. Hannah & I should be OK so long as she doesn't change her mind too many times before Saturday

Annie I think CJ picked up a few tips at ScrapManic on "au naturelle" photography ;)

Janice
21-11-2005, 07:07 PM
I spoke to Jaqcui earlier (Scrappy Duck) - she has internet failure but wanted to let us know that she is still coming :D :D

I need definite answers about supper for Saturday - can you see my udtated info in the first post and reply here? Thanks

Annie
21-11-2005, 07:48 PM
Ack, Lucy! Not the sort of roads they are likely to salt either :(

OK would like to book chicken curry for me, and chicken korma for short person, but if the weather is really bad then we may not be able to get to you.

ETA : where is the report for snow, cos just been and looked and all the forecasts I can find say wet on Saturday?

soojay
21-11-2005, 07:54 PM
can't stay for supper :( What did we diside for lunch in the end??
BTW my name is not on the who's coming list Janice :(

Jennie
21-11-2005, 09:01 PM
No supper for me or family thanks.

Annie, the Look East weather forecast tonight, said, rain and possible wintery showers on Thursday evening, most likely snow and sleet on Friday, and then rain/wintery showers on Saturday, but they admitted, it is very hard to forecast snow accurately.
Didn't we have really bad snow one crop earlier in the year, and the roads were ok if I remember, fairly well gritted.

Lucy C
21-11-2005, 09:11 PM
Did I say Korma for me Janice? I heard that they said snow on the Sky weather and probably here at the end of the week but if i had a pound for everytime they said that!!!!

Ness, do you have those 7 Gypsies elasticated treasury tag things? Need to get some for a friend.

Janice
21-11-2005, 09:51 PM
Ohh sorry Sue - I thought you was there! <blushes> Will add you right away!

Lunch - still Jacket Potato with Tuna etc :D

Annie - the roads from the A14 down to Wyverstone, through Haughley, Haughley Green and Bacton are always gritted (they've just been out and done them) - we are fairly lucky that the gritter lorry comes all the way to the T junction outside our road and that is where it turns round to go back :D You should be fine :D

Annie
21-11-2005, 09:57 PM
Cool! I don't want to miss this. I need a fix of Wyverstone healing LOL.

Sue just cause I'm getting organised doesn't mean I'll get any more done than usual - my best effort is only ever 1  My theory is that as Hannah productivity goes up mine goes down, not that I was anything but a slow scrapper even when Hannah didn't come with me.

Simon is bringing Harry at 1.30 for the shoot and will then disappear off again.
Is there anything (apart from secret santa) that you need us to bring?
I will bring the class kits (I am working on a selection of about 3 different ones, and all with coloured instructions sheets incase anyone would like to a take away to do another time!).
Haven't sorted out what everyone will be wearing as like Jennie there are so many of us to coordinate:lol:
Mum is hoping to come for part of the day if thats OK.

I haven't Secret Santa'd I'm afraid. If I manage to sort out stuff to bring I will be doing well without thinking about anything else. Life just seems to have gone totally nuclear recently!

Having bought DH new shirts so he would match us, he has decided he's not coming  so I have a trip to the shop to take them back now. :(

Ness, don't suppose you have Chatterbox Rec Room, do you? Ordered some plus matching cardstock from a sponsor, and the CS has arrived plus *one* sheet of PP - the rest was OOS :( So this one sheet is about as much use to me as a hole in the head right now!

Lucy, I think I have a snowman (being too lazy to move to check). From memory when I have done one, (though I may have borrowed) it is seriously fiddly. I'll post tomorrow to let you know.

OMG, I just can't colour coordinate everyone, it's driving me mad!! Especialy not more than one colour anyway.

Janice, where is CJ going to set up in the hall?

Must start thinking about stash packing too. Normally I think clothes after stash!

Night Owl
25-11-2005, 12:27 AM
Jennie

I think Janice was thinking that the alcove could be used as CJ studio - I have one concern though, that area of the hall doesn't have any heating

Well I've had a little clothes shopping trip - visited many shop before hitting my good old local Sainsburys, I'm now kitted out & best of all everything was 25% off. As Hannah would say - RESULT. In addition Hannah thought they looked good not sure thats good or bad.

Stash packing is easy bring everything or be honest bring nothing and just do a whole lot of chatting  I'm setting myself a target, I would go home a very happy bunny if I could get 3 LOs completed but the would settle for 2.

Eileen

Jennie
25-11-2005, 12:44 AM
I'm sure CJs lights will warm us up a treat!

Yup I shall bring everything stash wise. DH will have to bring all the overnight bags for the whole family. I guess I could manage to go clothes shopping tomorrow, except Elliott has to have his toe sorted tomorrow night, so shopping might be out of the question. I think all the men are sorted, but Sophie and I can't agree on a similar colour!! She wants brown!! I don't do brown, and let's face it she'll look gorgeous in anything anyway, I just need to cover up all my flabby arms and bulges, so maybe finding a colour coordinating tent, might be easier!

Janice
25-11-2005, 11:11 AM
Glad you girlies are getting organised!! I am just bringing my paint cans (they arrived Sue!!! :) ) and along with the ones Ive ordered from Vanessa, I think that is all I'll hope to achieve! Even one would be good! LOL

Eileen is right Jennie - I thought the alcove for the 'studio' :) I have a pair of very old, but brand new White Sheets that I am going to hang on some hooks to cordone it off to hopefully give privacy. The little room along the side, near where I sit and the ladies use to feed the babies - I thought that would be ok for Changing - the men may have to use the Gents though :o - and there is a bar heater in the area so with the curtains closed it shouldnt be that bad.

Ohhhh - I am cooking today, is there anyone that could pick up some 50p coins from the bank or a Post Office for the heaters? I might not get time to get down the bank?

hazelb
25-11-2005, 03:51 PM
Janice, I have £7.50 in 50p coins - any good?

Janice
25-11-2005, 04:01 PM
Oh please bring them Hazel - I have managed to get £20 worth from the local shop, but we may need the extra for the Photo shoot area :D

I dont suppose you still have that spare microwave you was talking about do you? I am not sure I can 'extract' mine from the kitchen easily :o

hazelb
25-11-2005, 04:06 PM

I've tucked the coins in my bag. Along with everything else :D

Sorry I haven't been around this week, I've been working full time :o But I have taken note of things that people have specifically asked me to bring for tomorrow. If there is anyone else that wants something in particular, please email or pm me, or post it here! Please especially let me know if you would like any artbin stuff or a provocraft tin! I still have some top loading ones, although the website shows out of stock!

Janice, I'll be there early tomorrow to help. I'm all colour co-ordinated, stash packed, Elliott's stash packed, overnight bags packed, DH has instructions and knows what he's got to do, and Sophie is left with organising Justin. (he's in a grump at the mo, so hopefully she'll work wonders with him tomorrow before the photos.) so I'm ready to roll. Just gotta wash my hair in the morning!

Elliott had his toe unwrapped last night, it's not looking over horrible, but not too good either. He has to go back again on Tuesday, but he has managed to put a shoe on for the first time in two weeks, so that was good!

See ya all tomorrow. I'm setting off early.
