Teams!! The time has come to split the ever growing number of challenge teams so that Karen doesn’t have to do all the points by herself.
We will have 4 ‘houses’
Red Ribbons
Blue Brads
Gold Eyelets
Green Buttons.
Each team has been allocated a ‘house’. There will be a ‘house’ chat thread where all teams in each house can interact with each other each month, started by the Team Co-ordinator. (house lists will posted later this evening) Please can every team leader subscribe to their house chat thread, any important announcements made by us will also be posted on these 4 threads for team leaders to filter to their teams, hopefully ensuring everyone is kept informed.
House Leader
To simplify some ‘house’ matters, each house will choose a ‘house leader’ to submit points for the team challenge and deal with any house related issues. How you do this is up to you. We need one person (and a named deputy for holiday times etc), and they don’t have to already be a team leader. This person will be responsible for sending in points for the inter-house challenge, and reminding team leaders about deadlines and weekly challenges via the house threads. As all the UKS teams practise self moderation in our chat threads, the house leader will also be responsible for moderating their house thread, keeping the peace or contacting a UKS mod to deal with any problems arising.
Inter-house Challenge
At the end of each month, teams choose the highest 2 scores to put forward for the inter house challenge, and every 3 months these points are added and the house with the most wins the challenge.
Sending in points sheets etc
EVERYTHING remains the same with earning points. There is only ONE change that directly affects every team, and that is the way you name your email when sending points. When sending your spreadsheet and month end points you MUST make sure the SUBJECT of your email states your HOUSE NAME first, followed by Team name and the current month/year points are being submitted for.
For example –
RED RIBBONS – Lazybirds 10/05
– nice clear and simple like that, attach your spreadsheet and email to points@dsl.pipex.com
This will ensure all points are sorted into folders when received and makes mine and karens jobs so much easier. If your email does NOT have your house name first then you points may not get to the person dealing with your house and you may not get added to the totals.
This is the ONLY part of the house system that you HAVE to follow, if some teams dont wish to participate in house challenges and activities then it isnt compulsory and you wont be penalised in any way. You will be allocated a house, and you must state that house in your emails, but after that how much you participate is up to each team individually. :)
House colours
Housemates are encouraged to display their colours in a blinkie or by adding a small banner to your avatar, you may download and add these banners to your avatar, use them as small house blinkies or use the blinkies the houses are creating themselves :)
