What is a Swap?
A Swap is defined as a group of people who all make or purchase multiples of something which is then sent to the swap organizer (host) to divide and send out equally to the members of the swap.
Examples of swaps are:-
Themed Tag Swaps
All participants make a set number of tags (i.e. 3 tags each) on a certain theme and these are then sent to the host who redistributes them to the participants. This means you make three tags… and get three back made by other scrappers!
Journal Swap
All participants make a decorated journal which is then sent to the host and each participant gets a journal decorated by someone else back
Fibre Swap
Each participant (say 20) buys a ball of fancy wool or fibre and cuts it into a 20 pieces which are then sent to the host. The host then distributes the fibres so each participant gets 20 different fibres back.
In all swaps you will be expected to send an address label and relevant postage to enable the host to send back your item(s)
Swap Rules
UKScrappers have set some rules with regard to Swaps, including details for submission, these can be read here (http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/boards/showthread.php?t=57234)
Swap Form Submission Example
Here is an example of how you should send your CJ requests to me. Thanks zahra for such an excellent example
-------------------------------------------------
Swap Name:
Novelty Brad Swap
Description:
No round brads allowed. This swap is for anyone who'd like to get a collection of shaped brads. Each member should buy 100 novelty brads (i.e. flower shaped brads) and split them into 10 bags of 10.
Let me know what you're buying so we can keep everyone different! Label them with your UKScrappers name and your group number, and then send them to me. I'll do the rest (although it would be really helpful if you could include a label with your name and address!).
I'll do 3 groups of 10, if there's enough demand and that way I can split up any duplicate themes.
Organizers Name: (UKS name and real name)
Zahra – Sally Scrapper
Sign Up Deadline:
16th September 2005
Dates for Swap:
Send by 3rd October 2005 in order for completion on 21st October 2005 (or as soon as each groups' are received)
-------------------------------------------------
Important Notes
Please do not post on any new swap thread until the organiser has posted immediately after the initial post by me. This will allow all the important information to be kept at the top of the thread.
As soon as the organiser has made their first post then you are good to go
