Any questions, feel free to get back to me!

Mary Anne

Thank you all for your support of UKScrappers!

2010 Sponsorship info

There are no real changes this year but please review this information carefully before deciding at which level you wish to sponsor.

The UKScrappers site is an active and vital online community. It is the best place to get the word out about your business to the most UK scrapbookers in one place. We accept sponsorship from UK and European scrapbook retailers, kit providers,  and event organisers ONLY. Exceptions are noted.

We will continue to work to promote scrapbooking in the UK over the next year and there are many new things in the works. It is in a big part thanks to you as sponsors that we are able to do this, and UKS and its members appreciate your continued support.

Payment of your sponsorship fee acknowledges you have read and agree to these rules for UKS sponsorship.

NEW SPONSORS:

If you are interested in sponsoring UKScrappers please paste this "form" into an e-mail, add the information requested and e-mail it to Mary Anne (ma@id.com) and I will get back to you.

If yoou are not already a registered UKS member, REGISTER ON UKS to get a user name - that needs to be included in the form!

EXISTING SPONSORS:

Please fill in this form again.  Please DO NOT simply send an e-mail saying “Same as last year” - I need to verify all info (address, phone, links back to UKS, link to full address details on your site, names to be allowed to post in UKS, owner name for access to Retailers).  If you want a different logo image or a different URL to link to, please note that clearly and include it as an attachment.

Please REPLY to this e-mail OR be sure to say UKS SPONSORSHIP  2010 as the subject of your e-mail. Please spell it as SPONOSRSHIP :)

1. Full (real) Name and Business name
2. Tier requested:
3. Number of payments
4. Full Business address and phone
5. URL or your site
6. e-mail for business information and invoices
7. The UKS member names of those who may post for you in the Sponsors forum (up to 5 people) Please note the UKS names of the business OWNERS for access to Retailers

Owner’ UKS user name:
Additional user names:

8. The link to your page showing the link back to UKS
9. The link to your full contact information, as required by law.

If you are requesting a Banner ad: I need a graphic of 468 pixels x 60 pixels, JPG and best quality. Please do NOT send an image of any other size. Banner ad sponsors also get a skyscraper add that rotates on the Home page. The skyscraper ad is 160 pixels wide by 600 pixels tall and MAY BE ANIMATED.

If you are requesting Tier One: I need a graphic, 150 pixels x 75 pixels, JPG and best quality. Please do NOT send an image of any other size.

Tier Two does not include a graphic, on the Go Shopping page or in signature links.

Essential info about your e-mail address!

You should send, as your e-mail address to UKS, an e-mail that you check regularly. Make sure that, if you have a SPAM blocker on your e-mail, you set it so e-mails from UKS and from ma@id.com are allowed. UKS will not be responsible for any issues arising from e-mails that have been sent and not received.

Payment is by BACS, cheque or PayPal - the specific details of payment method will appear on your invoice:

For the year 2010 there will be no significant change in options or prices. First payments are due AFTER 1 December 2009 but BEFORE 15 December 2009.

Please review this info carefully and note what is allowed at the Tier you request. It is very important to note the limited promotion allowed at Tier 2 - choosing a higher tier of sponsorship you will get more.  Likewise, lower levels of sponsorship will get less.

The title over your avatar will indicate what level sponsorship you have.  This is to make it easier for the Mods to immediately identify what is allowed in the sig link based on what level of sponsorship you carry, and will hopefully stop members from reporting (wrongly) sig links of sponsors who ARE allowed additional info.

And a reminder - members ARE ALLOWED to mention the name of a shop (even eBay) in a post but not post a link, an address or URL, specific directions, or a phone number, nor may they post “PM me for more info” or “I’ve PMed you“ in a thread.

Banner Ads -- A Banner ad rotating in three spots on every page of UKS, changing with each page change or refresh, access to the sponsorship forum (2 posts per day, up to 14 posts per week), and listing alphabetically (by url) of the Banner graphic at the top of the GO SHOPPING page.

The skyscraper ad will rotate on the Home page and appear on the Go Shopping page - rotation rate will depend on how many sponsors choose to send us an ad - last year we only had 5 so the rotation rate was very high.

Banner ad sponsors may include up to 5 lines of promotional text as part of their signature line.

Banner Ad Sponsors may have up to 5 employees with a linked graphic

Additionally, Banner ad sponsors may have LINKED graphics (in the usual 150 pixel by 75 pixel size) for up to 8 Design Team members.

Banner ad sponsor may provide a 150 x 75 pixel graphic for major weekend event attendees to add to their signature. This does not include regular crops but can be used for classes.

We anticipate no problem with allowing a Banner ad for any sponsor who chooses to take one. As usual it will depend on how many requests we get - if we have over 20, for example, we will likely do a random draw to allocate them, with preference given to repeat Banner ad sponsors.

There are various other promotion opportunities on UKS, including sponsoring the popular Cyber Crops, a shop/site profile, and more in the works. Basic info on UKScrappers sponsorship which applies to all tiers of sponsorship:

Sponsors must include full contact/ownership information on their website, to conform with trading standards regulations. Sponsors must e-mail me a link to their contacts page before they will be added.

No blatant advertising will be allowed in the General Scrapping or other regular forums -- any posts that are clearly ads will be deleted with no notification. You may reply to any request with a post "We have that!"but not list prices or catalogue numbers in any reply post in the General Forums. You may link to a price or order page. Please only reply with CLOSE substitutions, and not just random ones.
In the Sponsorship forum you will have the freedom to post once a day. You may ask people to PM or e-mail you for more info or link to a CONTACT page on your website. You may edit your post to add or correct information. You may post prices in the Sponsors forum.

Sponsors may NOT advertise or link to their own forums on UKS.

Selling via PM: Only sponsors may contact members to offer goods for sale via PM. Non-sponsors sending PMs to members offering goods for sale will have their PM privileges removed.

The Gallery: The Gallery is strictly a NO SALES zone for all UKS members. Sponsors or their Design Teams MAY NOT solicit business using the Gallery (ie don’t advertise your kits or products in the title of a Gallery upload. Don’t say “PM or e-mail me for info on these products” or link to your shop) You may add kit info in the description.  This includes limited sponsors.

Design Teams: Tier one Sponsors who have a design team may provide for that team a small (approx. 150x75 pixel) non-linked graphic, which may include the name of the sponsor. Sponsors are limited to a total of 8 team members with graphics at any one time. NOTE: Banner ad sponsors only may add LINKED graphics for their Design Team members (8 maximum)

Announcing Crops: Sponsors may announce crops in Cropping Central, with all the essential info. You may also start a crop social group for monthly or frequent crops.

We will be removing the Crop Chat section and move all crops chat to the Social Groups.

Sponsors who sell classes: Sponsors may announce classes in And Now a Word..., with all the essential info. You may also start a “chat” thread for participants in the appropriate forum (ie if the class is a Photography class, chat may be in the Photography forum, Digi class in the Digi forum. You may not RUN the class on UKS - you must have a separate place of your own to post classes, prompts, important info. Please use an e-mail list to notify your participants of essential info - if your “other place” is a forum, do not link to that on UKS link to your shop which may contain the link to the forum.

Banner ad sponsors may include a graphic, in the usual 150x75 pixel size, for class participants.

Please note -- Sponsorship is not an endorsement, actual or implied, of any business. Acceptance of sponsorship links is at the discretion of the board administrator and that decision is final. No reason need be given for refusal. It is the responsibility of the Sponsor to provide UKScrappers with a working telephone number and reliable e-mail address, and to update this information as needed. Failure to do so may result in sponsorship being terminated. Any misrepresentation of a business is grounds for removal of the sponsor. UKS will NOT intercede in disputes between members and sponsor businesses, but will log complaints by members. Contact Mary Anne (maryanne) if you wish to log a complaint.

Sponsorship is at the discretion of the owner of UKScrappers and may be terminated at any time. No reason for removal need be given.

Sponsorship can be terminated by the sponsor with a months' notice. For yearly or 2 x yearly sponsors you will be refunded the balance of your sponsorship, based on the 4 x yearly fee for the time the sponsorship was in place, NOT on a percentage of the discounted rate.

If sponsorship is terminated by UKScrappers, the sponsor will receive the return of any paid up fees, as above, minus a one month notice period. Sponsorship may be terminated at the discretion of the owner of UKS at any time. Refund of unused sponsorship funds is the limitation of UKScrappers liability.

Any transaction with a Sponsor is between the UKScrappers member and the Sponsor. UKScrappers. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless UKScrappers, X3 Internet Solutions LLP and Jelsoft Enterprises Limited (developers of the forum software) and their agents with respect to any claim resulting from a Sponsor transaction.

FYI - Legal Requirements

Sponsors must include full contact/ownership information on their website, to conform with trading standards regulations. This is a legal requirement, not specifically a UKS one, but we will only accept sponsors who comply. Here is a good overview of what is required.

Information that must be on your website (taken from http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/12...ail_regulation The Register)

The following is the minimum information that must be on any company's website (from OUT-LAW's guide, http://www.out-law.com/page-431 The UK's Ecommerce Regulations).

The name, geographic address and e-mail address of the service provider. The name of the organisation with which the customer is contracting must be given. This might differ from the trading name. Any such difference should be explained – e.g. "XYZ.com is the trading name of XYZ Enterprises Limited."

It is not sufficient to include a 'contact us' form without also providing an e-mail address and geographic address somewhere easily accessible on the site. A PO Box is unlikely to suffice as a geographic address; but a registered office address would. If the business is a company, the registered office address must be included.

If a company, the company's registration number should be given and, under the Companies Act, the place of registration should be stated (e.g. "XYZ Enterprises Limited is a company registered in England and Wales with company number 1234567")
If the business is a member of a trade or professional association, membership details, including any registration number, should be provided.
If the business has a VAT number, it should be stated – even if the website is not being used for e-commerce transactions.
Prices on the website must be clear and unambiguous. Also, state whether prices are inclusive of tax and delivery costs.

Finally, do not forget the Distance Selling Regulations which contain other information requirements for online businesses that sell to consumers (B2C, as opposed to B2B, sales). For details of these requirements, see http://www.out-law.com/page-430 The Distance Selling Regulations - An Overview.
