I've not had mine either. I am guessing it would be due this week, though TSBH may be behind because of the Bonanza w/e?

hmmm was just wondering when my "lingerie" woudl arrive! ( the postie told dh he was a lucky man, "why" asks dh, " cos your wife keeps getting all that ladies underwear" he says  says dh and postie wanders off scratching his head. next months PBC arrives and postie says to dh " there y'go, more lingerie!" i opened the box for postie to see and his little heart broke in front of me! wish i had my camera handy!

I emailed them this am and got a swift reply..saying they are waiting for post office to collect them and that they are ..."really lovely..so hopefully worth the wait!" It was later last month arriving and although they do have some good bits in I recall that when i signed up for it they did mention something about occasional free gifts...I havent had any ,except impatience ...waiting for the box!!
I wonder what the lovley things will be?
And who will get theirs first ..LOL...bet mine comes tomorrow when Im out...no...thats expecting too much, prob Friday...Saturday maybe?

I've been in it since box 2...never had a free gift either, which I bought to the attention of Sarah at TSBH, when I was discussing cancelling with her, before the last box. I had a whole list of things that were "promised" but not delivered.

I did decide through my choice to continue, but if you have paid up front by CC I'd suggest talking to your card company as there IS a lot you can do under the consumer credit acts etc. Not going into more detail as there are endless threads on the same topic.

have never had a freebie and i was the second person to join the club. last months was better, worth the money at least. i will probs not be re-subscribing tho. it is getting later and later and one good box has not yet made up for the last 7 or so naff ones.

Well I was able to cancel mine before last month's came out with no problem.

I rang and was asked to put the request in writing and return the card. I also stopped the standing order. Staff actioned it immediately with a confirmatory letter saying how they didn't understand why I was disappointed as they had received nothing but compliments about it!!! :D

I don't know what number I was - the first card I got said no 002 then they sent me one which said 004 - I was thee for the first one anyway!

I cancelled mine a couple of months ago too. I cancelled the standing order and rang to tell them that I didn't want it anymore.
They also told me that they had nothing but good reports about the box <_<

CarolynUK
27-05-2005, 08:21 AM
Janey - in fairness - the pink box is quite good if you are new to scrapping and want to build up a stash - you do get quite a lot in it.

Those of us who were unhappy with it seem to have been scrapping for quite a while, and have developed our own tastes and style, which the PBC doesn't always meet.

Last month they responded to a lot of criticism from the month before, and sent out a good one, let's hope they can keep it up!

Mine has come today - and can I just say I am a lot more happier with this one too! Last month was an improvement, and this one is too! We have Lasting Impressions, Li'l Davis Designs, Pebbles Inc, All my Memories and TSBH (I presume as there is no name against the cardstock). Nice one - keep it up TSBH.

Mine has just arrived. Maybe cos it's hot and I'm tired, but I feel as if it has taken a step backwards this month. There are several of the items that have made me really cross, because it is stuff we have complained about before, and the note at the bottom re extra value + gift is taking the mickey IMHO.

It's not just because you are hot and tired Janie, I totally agree with you. Very disappointed when I opened it this morning. What use are pink rub-off letters to me? I only seem to scrap photos of my little boy!!!! And foam squares? Not impressed.

I haven't got my kit yet (guess I'll be picking it up from the PO tomorrow) but I just have to say that you'll never manage to please everybody all the time - you might not be able to use pink rubons, but don't you think that there would be the same complaint from others if they'd sent blue ones? or from the colour blind people if they'd sent green?
We have a PIF/Swap facility on the board - why not try & swap what you don't like/won't use for something you do like/will use?

got mine now, last month was soooo good and then theres this month. cant wait for next months free gift.... rub ons anyone?
personally id much rather have £8 worth of cardstock, even in tango orange, i might use it for something. pink rubons? even with a dd i will never use them. still as woozle said, there is always the market place, or ebay, etc.
i know you cant please all the people all the time but sureley black woudl be more appropriate to more people? never mind i liked the vellum and the foam pads will come in handy

20-06-2005, 04:39 PM
at first opening of mine I too was disappointed, but thank you Woozle for your comments - I should look on the kit as 'the challenge' I wanted when subscribing in the first place. Although I did expect more on the embellishment front, lovely papers though.

It was the tags! How many times have we told them that we've got tags in horrible colours coming out of our ears?

And I feel a bit cheated as the Gluedots products were the same as those given in the goody bags at Bonanza - a bit like, they'd got loads left so lets offload them onto the PBC members as usual.

And cardstock that went with the papers would be nice...strong sense of deja vu here!

Woozle - I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend! I didn't really mean anything by it but I was disappointed by the contents. I've said before that as my 'stash' is not huge it's nice to get a box with things in that maybe you wouldn't think to buy yourself. I was really impressed by last month's box and we did have some rub-offs only 2 or 3 months back so I just thought it would have been nice to get something different again and not things that are very similar to those which have come fairly recently. Well I'm probably just digging myself a bigger hole so I'll crawl into it now!!

Ok, with my box in my hands I'm struggling to understand the complaints - I suppose it's the old thing of "you'll never please all the people all of the time".

People complained about packs of embellishments. Some people liked them but TSBH listened to the complaints & we haven't had any more of those.
People complained about Chatterbox Foundations. Some people liked them but TSBH listened to the complaints & we haven't had any more.

everybody above has said that they liked the papers, what exactly are your complaints this time?

I find the small packets of glue dots/foam squares really useful especially to take to crops - means I don't have to drag large reels of dots with me & the small sheets fit into my tool box nicely! At the end of the day, we all need adhesive don't we?

Perhaps black rub ons would have been more widely appreciated, but the pink go with the cardstock this month (and people complained when the kit didn't match) - if you won't use the pink, swap it/PIF it/sell it. I am not a "pink" person but the coloured rubons make a nice change from all the black ones that are so widely available ...
Yes we got rubons a few months back but they were phrases - these are individual letters so you can use them for journalling, titles, labels, cards - anywhere that you wnat words ... FAR more versatile!!

I like my box! Nice papers and rubons do match. Gluey bits always useful. Very different from last month giving variety which I like but have admit I don't have a huge stash!! Perhaps it would be different if I did.

I too was very dissapointed with that last box, i don't feel they put any effort into it at all. I joined the pbc to experience new products and ideas that i wouldn't have thought of, i was really pleased with the first couple and couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Now i'm finding i'm feeling let down by the contents especially this last box, glue dots and foam squares however usefull are just a huge cop out and the rub-ons don't really go with anything else in the kit ( if you can call it a kit) and even if they did they are so plain and uninspiring why would you? I'm also getting a little bit angry at the timing of the boxes, the money goes out of the bank on the first of the month and i don't recieve the pb untill around the 27 of the month which i think is taking the biscuit just a tad! I feel they really need to pull there fingers out and start producing the type of boxes they started with and start keeping there promises or they are going to loose alot of us, after all there are lots of other companies doing these kits now and not so much angry comments ! sorry about the ranting i feel better now!

lou
23-07-2005, 09:20 PM
I started from the first box so mine will end soon out of all the boxes I have recieved I have used very little,I cannot put my finger on what it is exactly and has someone stated you cannot please everyone but I do not find the contents inspiring and my neighbour who recieves it too feels the same.It is not one I recommend to people and I have had some lovely kits from sponsors on this site that I have loved.Oh well 1 box to go .

I am so fed up with waiting for my Pink Box to arrive!!! I used to get it in the middle of the month but now it is nearly the end of the month. We shall be paying for the next months one in a couple of days!! Well, I have mine and it's quite good.

There is some of the cardstaock and papers I wouldn't normally buy so looking forward to trying it out. Quite unusual colour schemes so finding photos will be interesting I think.

The free gift is very useful - I am really getting into using fibres and ribbons.

Does anybody upload photos of LO's they have done with any of these kits by the way? I would like to see some inspiration for the others I haven't used yet!

Mine has arrived - must say the paper "may" be a little too in your face for me (that is my opinion ladies!) but I will give it a go - may surprise myself. The embellies are lovely, and the freebie is also very useful - nice coulours too.

I have noticed with the pink box that I tend not to keep together - I just split the contents - as I do not think they are "put together" as a kit as such - but they are a great stash builder! Noticed there were no card making things this time - which was a relief - I am a card maker - but did not like their choice of card making goodies (again my opinion).

kathyb
25-07-2005, 11:28 AM
Mine is here too.

I like the papers.

This is my 11th box ( out of 12 ) and as such 2 thirds of the free gift are identical to earlier boxes. Don't want to give too much away for those still waiting. I am commenting, not moaning, as I'm sure I'll be told I should simply be grateful as it is "free".

I only joined two months ago - it's so so, I am probably the only one to not like this month's kit - too many dots. I don't mind some dotty papers but most of them are dots. I do however like the ribbons, ribbon buckles and feel that in general it's got to be a hard job making up a box BUT for the money we pay, they can easily send enough stuff to make a couple of kits so if one lot isn't useful, the other bits might... just a thought.

I've found them to be very helpful so am happy to stick with it - just please no more glue dots - once every few months maybe but each month...

JuliaMac
25-07-2005, 04:48 PM
As I thought, as soon as I moaned about waiting for my box it arrived!! I have to say I love it! Oh my guys I feel the odd one out here! But like someone said before it is impossible to please everyone!! Have to say I like about a quarter of the kit. There is no way I would ever use the water paper or stickers and the rest well did not inspire me! ;)

I have just produced a layout using the blue and brown stripes and spots paper as well as the corresponding cardstock from this months Pink Box and i am over the moon with the results! I just happened to come across a photo of me and my son and he was wearing the exact same blue T-Shirt as the paper so i had to get going on it straight away! I was concerned over what sort of pictures would go with the colours but this is perfect! Now I am really pleased with this months box!

I've been a PBC member for 6 months now and I like the variety you get in the boxes (I got the green ribbon btw). It gives me the chance to try things I normally wouldn't even look at in the shops so I'm not just stuck with teh same ideas over and over again - plus you can always do a swap if you have something you really hate or will never use!

Hi,
I am a pb member, but must say I am very disappointed with it. This is probably because I also subscribe to 4 excellent American monthly scrapping kits. They are a little more expensive but the quality of the contents counter-balances this. check them out:
1) Scrapgoods (takes a technique each month, ideas booklet, great papers and embellishments, plus you can add to the kit).
2) Clubscrap (the longest running scrapbook monthly kit. Unusual papers and cardstock, rubberstamps, ideas booklet, fibres and stencils. Also has other monthly kits).
3) Scrapmuse (unusual papers, ideas booklet, good embellishments).
4) Daisybucket (original papers, uses fabric, ideas included. Also has an embellishment kit and a cardmaking kit. Also the cheapest of the four).
My favourite is Scrapgoods, but I like them all. They all co-ordinate perfectly, the goodies are all up-to-date and their ideas for how to use them are fantastic. I have never yet split one of these kits, whereas I always split up the pb kit. All the kits go out on time and the service is excellent.
If there is anything else I can help you with please ask.

Look on the other threads in this forum Julia

Short answer is they vary according to the size of the papers/ the quantities/ how long you subscribe for etc etc.....

The big ones like Scrapgoods/ Scrapbook Obsessions come in around the £30 mark, Scrapbook Stand around £17 (including postage).

Theres a thread in the library with live links to all of them which we can't put in here

If you paid for PBC as a one off payment on a credit card - do you know if the boxes automatically stop coming after a year or will they take payment again and keep sending???

Thanks!

the kits are running late this time due to a show (my neighbour rang them)If you pay through the bank and have had your last kit and do not want any more make sure you cancel at the bank because they will carry on taking the money and sending you kits even though the contract was for a year. They took money out of my account at the start of the month and when I rang they said it was up to me to cancel with them and the bank,I did point out that the contract was for a year and that surely they should not presume you wish to continue. They were so quick 1st august that I had not had time to cancel my debit, but they did refund me on my credit card and I am cancelled now

let's hope so, I am pondering a US replacement at the mo, cos Scrapgoods also runs out this month - I will be kitless! Love my Scrapgoods but very rarely use the technique bits, which means I am paying for something I won't use which is fairly daft. Would like to buy just the paper and embellishments from them really.

Well, I am confused!

I ordered the pink box several months back and then decided that I didn't want to continue with the order a few days later. No pink box had arrived and I got an automated email confirmation that my subscription had been cancelled.

Easy? Well, twiddling my thumbs this morning when the door bell rang and there was the postie with a bright pink pizza box...astonished? Amazed? Yup. But not as astonished as I was was when I rang the bank and found that NO MONEY had been taken from my account!

Judging by what you guys have said here I am very pleased I cancelled my sub, particularly as I have one with clubscrap costing £25 a month from the USA and the stuff in there is much better.

Anyone able to shed light on what is happening to this co as their website appears to be "down" at the moment.

Thanks

Well, just spoken to them (sounded like one guy by himself, there was no background noise) and he said he had been having mailing problems! I'll say, sending stuff to people not on their books!

By the way, for £20 this is a rip off if that's all you get in your box; it's made to look even worse by sending it out in a box that is far to big for the product they are sending.

Sorry to be so negative first thing in the morning :)

Hmmm... I like the flowers & paint but do I really need 4 sheets of the same colour cardstock? Also £4 something for a tape runner? It's a big chunk of the money to spend on one product that's not very innovative - I buy a kit to get a kit - meaning a box of goodies to inspire me, I have my own glue at home!

I feel quite bad not liking the kit as I really wanted to give this a chance. They've not taken any money this month so i'll have to call them & pay for the kit another way. To be honest, i'd rather send it back.

Sorry Pink Box Club, I really did try and like you!!

I won't be renewing either, subscribed when I had just started scrapbooking and didn't know what else was out there, even when I do like the paper/card I don't know why we only get one sheet of it, every other kit I've bought supplies two sheets of each colour. The worst thing for me though is the letter each month that tells me that I've got more than the value I should expect, amkes me feel like I'm being told off for being ungrateful  .

I am starting to think I must be a bit odd because I LOVED my pink box this month!!! I found the first few I received a little disjointed but now things all seem to go with each other and are just to my taste, I also liked getting a tape runner in the kit. As far as I'm concerned it gets better each month, my only regret it that I'm not the lucky person who received two. It would be nice to see posts from anyone else who liked their kit or is it just me.

My pink box arrived this morning - finally! I thought I had been forgotten.

I'm actually quite pleased with this one, not sure what I am going to do with it though. I know that it isn't the best co-ordinated kit but it is a challenge and makes me think about using papers that I would never usually buy which is a good thing because otherwise everything I do would be very similar.

I think opinions probably vary depending on which other kits people get. I now get another kit and in comparison, the value, range and scope are completely different to this kit. I just don't have the money to be using it on a kit containing glue each month as I have that here and i'd rather spend the little cash I do have spare knowing it's going on a whole lot more stash

I wouldn't have minded so badly if i'd got some kind of printed paper or something but all I got was plain cardstock 4 of one colour and a few other colours, buttons that didn't match anything, nice paint & flowers and the glue. I gather that everyone got different stuff so maybe that's why we all have different opinions.

Chris K
31-08-2005, 10:39 AM
Picked up my box this morning and I was disappointed. I signed up for this for the papers and I dont seem to have any this mnth. It is all cardstock as far as I can see. Plain and printed. Still looking for the embossed cardstock it says I should have on the item list as far as I can see all of mine is plain. The embellishments I got don't seem to match with anything. I do quite like the vellum though and although I didn't subscribe to this for glues and tape I am happy with the glue runner as I don't know anyone who stocks this type locally.

I do hope things improve and the stash gets a bit more coordinated. And more papers coz even if I don't like them I can swap them I have plain cardstock coming out of my ears and never use it coz I prefer the textured.

they will not be exhibiting at ally pally next weekend... i wonder why that is? maybe they are worried about the complaints they will get on the stall.. i would be one of them.. maybe they are going to pack it all in?....maybe they will cancel my subscription (wishful thinking!!)no more pink boxes,,yippee

I contacted them as i don't get kits untill the end of the month yet i pay on the first of each month, i said how unhappy i was about the kits and it's nothing like it was for the first two kits, i also said about how other people do one month or six months to give you a chance to really see what it's like and if they had any good buisness sense they would let the unhappy subscribers out if they had done six months already. when they e-mailed me back they said everyone knew it was a twelve month subscription ( so basicly it's tough! ) and there are only a couple unhappy people not lots, also my subscription will run out in december and if i don't want to carry on i've got to buy out! In other words they are getting money for mucking us around, not listening to the customers which is very bad buisness sense and don't care. I'm glad they aren't at the ally pally as i would have to line up and give them a piece of my mind too!
Has anyone tried just cancelling there direct debit? I'm thinking about it, what can they do?
I've been looking at some of the other kits and reading what people say about some of them and they all seem alot nicer and none of the problems we get with pbc .
sorry that's the end of my ranting and i feel a bit better!

24-09-2005, 12:00 PM
If I were in a situation like this, I would just cancel my direct debit. Technically they could sue for breach of contract, but then you could argue that they've done the same by not providing you with the service and products that you had signed up for. It probably wouldn't be worth their while financially to sue you for such a small amount anyway..... Your choice of course, but this is what I'd be inclined to do.

I cancelled mine and wrote to them saying that the kits were not always complete, did not co-ordinate half the time and were not what was promised. I cancelled my standing order after only 4 boxes and never heard back from them.

I felt bad as the lady I had spoken to was lovely but, I am just not prepared to waste the money compared to others you can get for a similar price. I am now subscribed to scrapagogo kits and could not be happier. They co-ordinate, are genuine value for money and you don't feel like they've just shoved whatever they couldn't sell into kits... as we all recieved different things in our kits - I seriously wonder if this could be the case.

I know it's hard to get a kit to please everyone but the alternatives are far superior in quality, co-ordination and inspiration. They have support in the way of sample layouts, advice sheets, tips and ideas to get you thinking and are full of goodies not glue..

Are they having a laugh???????

Despite cancelling, I got the kit so will have to send it back and am just glad I haven't paid for it....

Sponsored by Maya Road... sounds fab eh? Sponsored to me means that Maya Road are in some way supporting the Pink Box Kit by providing goodies at a lower price, adding in something .... No... we have been charged a ridiculous cost for the tiems... £6.99 for a tin that you can get on other scrapping sites at less than half the price, fibres that cost £6.99????????? Who in their right mind would pay that??? There's no more in them than any other pack and they are not even that nice. So that's £13.98 of your money gone on 2 items....

I never got the free glaze mentioned to be worth £5.99 so I cannot comment on that. It does sound like it was probably the nicest thing in the box though...
Chinese coins - again not recieved
Square mini tin - not recieved...
1 piece of ribbon.
1 piece of gold & Silver card
5 sheets of 12 x 12 cardstock badly cut into half sizes of 6 x 12 - plain colours only - red, black, white, cream, butter.
A charm - also not recieved but was probably very nice... I never get the nice bits LOL...

Total (their) value including the free (non-existent glaze) gift £26.03

Before I send it back and possibly get accused of taking out bits, i'd like to know if anyone else never got half the kit? At least then i'll have some ammunition!

I love the tin kit idea BUT it needs to have some decent papers not just plain cardstock, they could have found far better value for us than just chucking in really expensive and (not necessarily worth it) products so we got more - and why can they not do what all the other kits manage.... a page of ideas, tips on how to complete the kit etc... Had I not already made one at a class before... i'd be sitting here crying at how on earth to make a round accordian card......

Please let me know if it's just me or if no-one got everything as I am really worried about sending this back. Out of all the kits I recieved (4) only 1 was ever complete.

They have the ideas - this could have been brilliant - if it was sent with better value, more inspirational designs etc... Maybe it's just me but I don't waste £6.99 on one pack of fibres unless they are amazing....

...a round accordian card/album, is that what I do with it!!?????????

Why couldn't the card at least have been left 12 x 12, I could have used it on something else...

mine hasn't come yet theres a big surprise! mind you i think it's something to be glad of as it sounds awful! I have been trying to get the courage to have a go at decorating a tin of some description but this sounds like a kit which is going to ruin that idea and have me in tears.
What are these people thinking!
£6.99 for some fibres is ridiculous! These kits were ment to inspire and show us products that we wouldn't have normally have used because either we didn't know how to use them on a lo or because they are new etc not because they are expensive ( and you can get for a lot cheaper somewhere else! ).
I'm not going to wait out another couple of kits or even wait for this one i'm cancelling my direct debit now!

It's interesting to know that at least 2 others of you had dented boxes. I've decided I'm going to cancel my subscription and try one of the other monthly kits.

Princess Lily

ummmm haven't even got mine BUT:

It's odd that tins are even included - I know some crafty people do like to alter things or maybe it could be used as stash storage but aren't the kits meant to be scrappers STASH rather than storage or altered art kits???

I am assuming that the idea behind the tin is to make an accordian album inside it... however, with no helpful hints or instructions... nobody would stand a chance if they don't already know how to make them... You also need patterned papers etc or it'd be really boring with just the plain cardstock included.

My Pink Box is waiting for me at the Post Office, maybe I should just leave it there!! I am intrigued by the tin as it is something I have wanted to do so I will reserve judgement until I have actually seen the contents. I think I only have one month to go so I shall cancel and find a much better monthly kit.

Mind you it could be another kit I have started to subscribe too, so I MUST go and pick it up n the morning.

The maya road fibres are £2.99 on ebay at the moment.... and ebayers have just as high overheads in terms of site charges being high, paypal charges etc and the same customs that they have...

It really is beyond a joke. The free gift worth £5.99 I never got but it did sound nice, I just don't think they understand the concept of value for money LOL...

What exactly did Maya Road sponsor? In terms of sponsorship, did they provide the fibres free? Pay the postage? Whatever, it doesn't seem to have been passed down to us really. Perhaps they are hiding the postage in the cost of their products or are they this expensive in the shop?

No reply to my email yet so I'll just have to wait until they contact me as I cannot be bothered to call again.

I know Caroline who owns Maya Road on another board - she probably did give them the fibres free of charge in an attempt to get her brand better known over here. I know she provided most of the materials for a Bonanza class (with no credit given to her by TSBH for providing most of the stuff - apart from cardstock) for 100 class kits). Her products are excellent quality and well priced. I don't think that TSBH are really doing her any favours...

I will tell her to come and read this thread....

27-09-2005, 08:59 AM
Thanks Carolyn, it seems really unfair to her if she did in some way provide something as she's certainly not credited other than a note saying Maya Road sponsored the kit... it doesn't say how she contributed or anything promoting the company..

The fibres are lovely but I think that's the only item from her in the box - it's certainly the only item with the company name on...). Perhaps a complete Maya Road selection would have been fab... They are also very expensive.

27-09-2005, 09:52 AM
Hey there,
I bought some of this glaze a while ago from TSBH, the brushes just need to be opened at the bottom as they appear to have stuck together like a nail varnish brush!
Get a pair of scissors and do a few slits to open it up more and it works fine!

I got mine yesterday. It's basically a round tin, a tiny square one, a couple of metal charms and a few sheets of cardstock cut in half!! I wasn't very pleased with last month at all, this one is a little better - but not much. Needless to say I won't be renewing my subscription........

Just checked out Maya Road other items and the tins look like they were from them as well as the coins (I never got these or the square tin which on the website looks lovely). However, it appears they have enormously bumped the retail price up. The most expensive I have found them in the UK on another site is £4.99 and the average being £4.50.... so £6.99 is impossible to justify.

The kits could have so easily been brilliant, a few instructions & ideas plus a more accurately competitive price would have ensured we'd have got a few more goodies to make a complete kit. Saying that... I never paid for mine and am still awaiting them to say how they will be collecting it as I am not paying to send it back. I'm gobsmacked that any company sees fit to literally chuck things in a box, completely unprotected and with so may people missing bits / getting damaged stock.

Hi can someone give me the email address or the telephone number of the Srapbook House. I cant find it and with the website being down cant contact them. I picked my kit up from the post office, I too am very disappointed. I believe some of the things are missing from my box too. There wasnt a list of enclosed items so I am not sure---- but from what has been said on here I must be missing stuff.

I received 1 round tin ---- dented.
1 pack Maya Road fibres.
2 small pieces of dull mirrored card in silver & gold------ both damaged with the base of the tin shape on them.
1 small square of striped black & white lines.
1 small length of Burgandy ribbon
2 strips Black card---------- 1 of them damaged
2 strips of Red card
2 strips of Cream card
2 strips of Yellow card.

Very disappointed.
I checked my subscription letter(no phone number or email address on it) My last box will be next months, and I am not renewing.

i have just got my box. I can honestly say i'm not one bit impressed! It was a good idea but as has already been said it was badly done. I don't understand the card pieces i would have rather had a piece of patterned paper to brighten it up, after all most of us already have plain cardstock of some sort. My tin was also dented and there was no sign of a square mini tin or charms ( were they any good?).
I have now cancelled my direst debit and i am going to send there membership card back!

hummm mine has arrived!

Well I think as my tin was dented too I can only image they must be seconds or something they got cheap! (but failed to pass the bargain on to us guys!)

As for the fibres, they are very nice but whey over priced! (could be handy for Christmas projects)

It’s the content of cardstock I can't get over!!! - It's like when your young & you crush all your crisps into lots of little pieces so you have more - do they think by half-ing it all we will all think we have twice as much!!!!???

It didn't really need such a big box to post it out in as there was nothing 12x12 which to scrapper would have been more useful surely.

As DH past it to me – he said ‘it’s broken whatever it is!’ bless him – I felt like saying ‘yeah I know!’.

I did get 1 extra 6x6 piece of patterned paper (white with black dots on it) but on the whole am disappointed.

In the past I have bought charms (mini handbags) & the four of them came in a little tin just like the square one & for the four charms & the tin it was only about £2 I think...

huh moan moan moan moan - Its just so hard to believe that they could get it sooo wrong & charge so much.

I can slightly understand the red, black, white, cream cardstock combination to produce a bit of an oriental theme but why YELLOW?

On the whole it feels like there is something missing - maybe it's:
- patterned paper
- a circle sara type book
- some ideas or instructions....

I have thought long and hard about what I could do with the tin & come to the conclusion if I add any of the provided products to the tin it would only ruin it! I thought it might make a nice button tin, but I already have one I am very happy with - then again if only a little bigger I do need a biscuit tin!

Would love to see what people do with the kit content - maybe we could have some pictures in the thread... (okay so no funny bu@@ers are to photograph it in the bin & display it & we don’t want fire pictures, but seriously if anyone does use any of it please will you show us what you have done….)

Right rant over now.
(when I think about the SO kit – it’s laughable!)

Oh yeah & how late was it toooooooooooooo!

No enough – or I may start crying soon!

Not dented tins and overpriced fibres, and so even though I have only been in the PBC for 4 months they just advised me to cancel my standing order, advise them in writing and there would be no further problems with subscription etc. I wish I had read the forum before I started it, but hey ho I'll be trawling for a new company to subscribe to from now on.

I got mine today which I havent paid for as my subscription has ended, so will have to call them to send it back but I opened it for a nose and it is really strange! Well, they are certainly testing our knowledge by costing a pack of fibres at £7! Blimey! The only thing that I would possibly find useful if I kept it might be the tiny charm, costed at 20p. Maybe we are all just missing the point? And WHY on earth would they cut 12x12 cs into two pieces, and then put both in the box.....?! Someone somewhere must love it I suppose!

I have just recieved my replacement after phoning them Monday as tin dented and papers marked by tin...and Im really suprised...they have sent me the complete contents again!!!And the fibres look slightly redder, less pink, but are the same name,Forbidden city...The tin still isnt totally dent free ,just slighlty "ding" but if,IF,Im going to "alter" it sometime then this wont show...and Ive got another bottle of the gold dust stuff that i still havent a clue what to do with!!!
The papers this time were in a cardboard sleeve so they didnt get damaged this time!!

Credit where credit due,and i know it could have been perfectly packed in the first place,I wasnt expecting full box to be sent to me ...and so quickly too!!!

I hope you others who were unhappy with the quality are as satisfied with replacement....
Now Ive got to kits to play with...UUUMMM????

Ladies,

Out of interest and because of this thread I gave the Scrapbookhouse a phone and told them that I had heard that they were selling the retail business and if so what implications did that have for the Pink Box Club. The woman who answered said that they weren't selling the business but closing down the retail side and going trade only. She said that the Pink Box Club was continuing but as a business on its own.

I phoned them on the 27th September about not having been sent the full kit, and dented tin and damaged card. At first they suggested I send the damaged tin back. I asked who will pay postage cos I wasnt. Then she said I could keep it and they would send replacement out.
Today I received a full new kit, everything there, including the missing items. Someone had even wrapped the tin in bubble wrap! The card stock was in a large card envelope too. Ok great service for the replacement, but, if someone had taken the trouble to do this in the first place it may have saved them money and customers, because im still not renewing my sub. after next month.

i have to agree the service with the replacement box was fantastic a complete kit sent with the larger tin wrapped in two separate padded envelopes. Its just a shame that they didn't put any 12 x 12 scrapbooking paper in the kit in the first place then i wouldn't have cancelled my subscription.

hi, i WAS a member of the pink box club but after last months box i cancelled. i did phone to complain about the over priced tin and bits of scrap paper but was told that i was the only one who was not happy. I now know that this is not true as i have read these pages. i phone after many of you had already called so they told me a big lie. I know think the club could possibly stay up and running much longer as it seems that so may people have cancelled. I think they still owe me a box, can anyone remember if we had to pay the first two months up front and then everymonth after that?

My question is what do i do now for my monthly fix, I need a new club to join one that take direct debit and just sends it out. Has anyone got any ideas?
Usa or uk i don't mind.

Just saw this and wanted to clarify something for Glitter Queen....

If you pay by standing order it means that you sent it to them each month....so you can cancel by simply calling your bank, or cancelling online if you use online banking.

If you pay by Direct Debit it mean that these people make a claim on your bank account each month. Now from what I have read above I seriously doubt the bank would have guaranteed them for the Direct Debit Scheme.

If they are using Direct Debit to claim on your account, you are covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee, so if you don't receive the items, contact your bank and they can claim back the money direct from them. This guarantee has an indefinate period...so say 1 year down the road you realise you still haven't got an item....your bank can still get the money back....even if they went out of business. The Bank that guaranteed them has to pay instead.

I worked for www.rightmove.co.uk for over 4 years, and set them up as a Direct Debit Orginator. I am also a former Natwest employee. So if anyone has any question/doesn't understand the difference between the two, PM me and I will try to explain.

Caz

PS...Hope you all get things sorted.

I phoned TSBH on Friday to tell them that I had phoned them 10 days previously to report my CD tin damaged and I was told immediately (without them checking) that it had been posted out to me the Tuesday after I phoned. I thought that was very interesting seeing as they had had several complaints that they could confidently say that they had posted it out to me personally on the Tuesday (unless they were all sent out on the Tuesday). I was told to wait until the beginning of this week and if it still hadn't arrived to phone them again. Needless to say, it still hasn't so I will be onto them again tomorrow. Think I'll be asking them how to cancel at the same time. Anyone suggest a good alternative?

I can seriously recommend the scrapagogo kits - www.scrapagogo.co.uk and they are UKS sponsors. You not only get fab goodies worth well over the amount you pay but you also get a folder of ideas, pictures and as much help as you could ever need. Everything in the kit will co-ordinate and you can make loads out of them. The last kit I made a mini file folder book and at least 5 pages from with still more to spare. They encourage communication and are really sweet... I am not on commission and don't know them in any capacity other than getting their kits so it really is an honest recommendation.

Others I have not tried but heard good things about are:

HOTP which I think is through crafty pastimes and the sweetwater kit which is direct from the USA - if you PM CarolynUK, I know she gets it so could point you in the right direction....

There are some really great kits out there and many more starting up so I am sure you'll find something fab.

Really just feel that i have already been done over the last few months then feel robbed of my £14.99 last month and could stand to loose another £14.99.
Need my money for new club, need monthly fix.
Still not workedout how to jazz this up so sorry for boring posting. help!

There is another thread re TSBH and the pink box, can't do links I'm afraid but a lot is explained in that. I think it's in the main general scrapbooking section.

Cancelled my pink box club but I have just answered the door to the postman who has bought me my Pink box lol. All it contains is a scrapbook in scarlet.

Anyone else who cancelled received theirs yet?

I Cancelled way back in the summer I can only assume this is really the last one as I honoured my years subscription ! yep all it contained was an album
Although nice I did get one at bonanza this year and after a few opening & closings the button flew off .

One album !!!! and a rather cheap looking one at that with a horrid plastic button ?? I'm speechless. I've tried to cancel but heard nothing back. When I joined back in July I was promised a monthly kit not a box with one album in it. How lazy and unisnspired is that ?

I havn't received mine yet but might be there when I get home tonight ...

I have had a really good reply to thread I posted in General Scrapbooking

From the "horses mouth" so to speak ... and no offence meant.....

Hopefully this will link you to the correct post, if not try looking at threads I have started .... it was callled "Any news on The Scrapbook House"

I am sticking with Pink Box for the moment (largely cos I paid in advance .... I live and learn) but if things don't improve I will be cancelling aswell...... lets just hope they do .... cos i do like TSBH stash!

I cancelled straight after the last 'kit' - when I rang I was told that I had had my 12 boxes, so wouldn't be getting any more, but to put my cancellation in writing anyway. Today the doorbell rings, and it's a pink box, with an album in it!

Yep,mines just arrived ..and its an album...looks like they have been too busy with "other issues" to put a kit together...BUT I must say I do like the colour...I think I might do a Christamas albumm for DD,with a LO of every year...or maybe I might sell it to my sister as shes just started scrapbooking..not sure yet!

I'm totally confused - it is just an album and nothing else?
