Lizziedripping has a great set of instructions for this - using Big shot, cuttlebug etc. (there has been discussion on the cuttlebug social group.) Think the link below should get you there.

Lizzydripping's excellent guide to Cuttlebug Sandwiches can be downloaded here: http://www.savefile.com/files/1582129

Have fun :)

Just realised this is only the cuttlebug file. I'm sure if you pm'd her she could help.

there should be some instructions on the card with the nestabilities dies on how to use them in all the different machines. I used my mums for the first time at the weekend.

The instructions on the packet are totally wrong for the BS on the packet. PM me your EMAIL address & remind me it is for the BS & I will send the booklet. Free to anybody who asks.

The save file is no longer available. No one downloaded for 30 days & I hadn't realised.

they must have updated the instructions on the new packaging then, as it worked perfectly at the weekend for me!

Did it say put the 2 plates together? This is the bit that causes confusion. I have had numerous enquiries about it from another site.

the instructions are:
stack from bottom up

1. place large platform down with all tabs closed
2. place spellbinders die face up
3. place cardstock on top of die
4. place two BS acrylic plates on top
5. roll through BS machine.

hope that helps.

Thats what I mean. In all my vast experience of die-cutting you never place the plates together especially the BS ones which are likely to slip against each other for a a kick-off. No other instructions from any manufacturer of machines or dies use this method. Nor do any of the blogs that used Nesties/Wizard dies long before they changed the packaging. Hence the confusion. I know which method works for me & a great deal of other peolpe & it is not the one with the two plates together.

When I am preparing for my classes I can be cutting about 1000 die cuts a week and on a number of different machines with different makes of dies. Hence the reason I felt qualified to write my booklets, they were done with lots of research, checking and confering with lots of owners of the different machines.

I've got a BS and I don't do it with both plates together.

I put one on top of the platform, die facing up, cardstock, then the other plate and I cut loads too. I love the nestabilities for speed even though I have the robo and love that too.

Hi there, I have just joined this group and also just received a Big Shot (pink/black) from my Husband.

I would like to ask Lizzydripping for her instructions for using Nestabilities with it but I don't know how to contact her.

Sorry, I am very new to this sort of thing.

I do it this way too Tanya. Watched a video on U Tube yonks ago and found it worked fine and got super embossing too, which wasn't that great the other way.
Here's the video. The big shot demo is at 5.52

Just click on my name at the side of this post & then click on send me a pm. Like I said before & so did Nannyjan, it is very strange using the two plates together. My list also tells you how to emboss & how to make frames.

Must have sent out 16 lists on here & another forum.

My treatment starts on the 8th so I may have got my weeks mixed up.

Dawn you'll have to post more as I haven't uploaded to a savefile as yet & haven't got the patience today as I have a headache & a temperature. Good job the blood test is next week.

The spellbinders magnetic placement Mat is a must have to get the metal dieplates to stay in place. When I use nestabilities in my Big Shot I use the following cutting sandwich
1. multipirpose platform
2. acrylic mat
3. magnetic placemat
4. die/s blade up
5. paper or cardstock
6. acrylic mat
7. Roll through Big SHot
hope this helps works for me

Liz First I hope everything is going well for you had, I had B C almost three years ago.

Liz I am hoping to get my first set of nestabilites this coming week and I have the big shot do I need to buy the multipurpose platform or can I use the white one that came with my machine.

I don't have it Jean. I just use the white mat then 2 mountboard shims, clear pastic plate, nestie - cutting side up, paper/card then the other clear plastic plate. Works fine for me.

If you want the booklet pm me your email & remind me it is for the BS. It takes less then a minute to send the email but about 5 mins to copy & paste sections.

I just bought some nesties for the first time today. I have the blue/black ellison design Big Shot and I don't have the multi-purpose platform, I can cut by using the following:

Platform
1 plate
die
cardstock
1 plate
cut down cutting mat

it cuts perfectly but how do I emboss? I have put the platform and plates on the bottom, flipped over the die and put a cut down cutting mat on top but it only embosses very, very lightly, i tried adding an A4 sheet folded in 4 shim but it's still not that great.

Any ideas would be appreciated as I wanted to finish my project this evening, should I have bought the tan spellbinders mats?

TIA
Ang

The instructions in my nestabilities say after cutting remove the acrylic mats from the cardstock and die, leave the die in place with the paper die cut out still in the die on the multi-purpose platform. Then put 2 tan embossing mats on top with one piece of 12x6 card tri-folded for a shim on top of the mats, then put one acrylic plate on top and run through the machine.

Thanks Dizzy but I don't have the multi-purpose platform or the tan mats!

I've now got the multi-purpose, but if I remember right I used to use the white mat, 2 pcs mountboard and then the other clear mat, but it's been a long time now. Have you got the sizzix embossing mats? Mine are purple. If so you could use then. Or just a thought what about funky foam? That might do

Sorry HTH, I've just realised you've already cut them. Well you could emboss them by running an embossing tool round the inside of the cut out IYSWIM. Works well. I often do it this way.
