Can anyone tell me if you can use crackle glaze on its own without putting paint underneath? I saw a Cj which had crackle glaze over the covers and I have tried to paint two layers but it is not crackling! IYSWIM:o

I think it depends on the one you have.

I use the Blonde Moments one and you can put a crackle layer direct to patterned paper and then a paint layer over the top and it works great.

Also i have put chip board thru an embosser (cuttlebug) then crackle layer and then paint layer and again that works fine.

Hope that is of some help

I've used the Tim Holtz crackle paint and you don't need a paint layer under it but you do need to put quite a thick layer on to get a good crackle!

I use the Sarahscards crackle glaze and blonde moments (there's little difference, if any).

I can't see the point of putting crackle glaze over something and then not rubbing in any alcohol ink or paint to be able to see the cracks ??

Are you sure they didn't UTEE the cover and then crack it ?

I don't know if this helps, or even if it's what you're after, but I was just looking at some stuff online and found Rangers Crackle accents. From what it said on the website it seems to be just like glossy accents but cracks...
