Can you take the rings off the album? If so, I would do that and lay your paper over the cover, press lightly where the eyelets are to get an impression, then use a hole punch/crop-a-dile to punch those holes before sticking down.

ive taken the book rings out but the eyelets that are in place are quite chunkey and i want them to show even when the paper is on.

You need a large hole punch then so you can stick the paper round the holes. fiskars used to do hand punches in different sizes. Or do it like you stick wall paper round a plug or light switch. You do cuts out from a central point then trim round the eyelet. Will try to find some info somewhere for you.

This is the method I mean, I know it will be a bit more fiddly with eyelets.

cool thanks,
as i was waiting for answers i came up with an idea and have done it to both wholes and ok it could have turned out better and im sure with the decoration to the covers it wont be that noticable and im thinking of touching the areas up with some paint or some thing not sure yet though. but basically i stuck the paper over the cover and then with a embossing tool i rubbed through the paper where the eyelets were and then cut paper out.
