Hi Everyone,
I recently purchased a packet of saftmat transfers. I have read a previous thread on here about how to print on it. I have followed the instructions but cannot get the words I have printed to rub off. I have now wasted 3 sheets! I have an injet printer and have definately printed on the transfer side but still no joy. Can anyone help before I waste another sheet. TIA.

The words don't rub off. You use it like you're printing your own sticker. Print onto the safmat, then leave it a while for the ink to dry properly, trim round it, peel the backing off and then stick it where you want it to go. I put a piece of scrap over the safmat and then rub over it with a lolly stick or scissor handles to burnish it down, but dont burnish directy over the sticker or you'll smudge the ink.

Thank you very much Molsmum. Well, i feel a total idiot. One advantage though is that I haven't wasted the sheets after all as I only tried rubbing the last word on each sheet. Good job I didn't throw them away! Must remember - stick, not rub, stick, not rub.....
also keep all the little bits for printing little bits of journalling. I don't waste any of it.

I always print onto A4 paper first to check the size, colour etc and then cut out a piece of Safmat that just covers it. I stick it onto the A4 with repo adhesive and run it through my printer. You've reminded me that I need to get some more as I'm on my last sheet.

Thanks for the ideas about cutting down the safmat, I usually wait till I have a full page to do and end up getting impatient....
Love safmat though, couldn't do without it...

Does it annoy anyone else that you can still see if when its stuck down? Especially on darker shades of bazzill. Doesnt matter how much I rub, I can still see it!

I used to use Safmat loads and yes it does still show a bit. I found that cutting it using a wavy blade in my cutter helped to hide the edges a little more as there were no harsh edges.
