Does anyone have any tips to stop paper sliding around mid-cut? I've ruined so many squares where its started cutting then gone skidding off:angry: And yes, I've tried a new sticky mat AND a new blade:blink:

Its really bugging me - should I just give up and buy a slice (when we get them)?

I found this really annoying too - but have to admit that now I have a Cricut I don't use mine.

I used to try really hard to make sure the paper was attached completely to the mat, as even the tiniest 'bubble' sometimes meant the letter or whatever slid around and was ruined. In the end I used a rubber brayer (for inking stamps) on 'slippier' papers.

I bought one of these but soon took it back. It just does not do what it says on the tin.
I tried everything and never got a clean cut, No matter what paper I used.
So I just treated myself to more sizzix alphabets.
Would be intersested to know if anyone gets on well with the Xyron.

I have a Zyron Personal Cutting system and I must admit I have not ever had this problem, unless my mat is really worn and has no sticky left

Have I just been lucky???? I love mine and do use it quite a lot :)

I do tend to use it more with card than paper though, so could that be why??

Have you thought to email Zyron direct to see what they say??

I found it tears thin paper, is not too bad with thicker (Basic Grey) and with Bazzill very variable. I might e-mail Xyron.

I got a Xyron personal cutting machine for Christmas and as yet have had no problems with it... I've only used it for cutting the Dovecraft scrapbooking papers so far but haven't encountered any difficulties with it.

I sent mine back to QVC after a couple of months as it 'died' but I found that using a brayer to secure the paper to the sticky mat helped. Much prefer my cricut though-little blighter was very temperamental!

I think you you would love the Slice particulary if space is the problem. I never got on well with the Xyron, but have you got it on a very flat stable surface as I had to chnage the table I used mine on as it seemed to not be as good on one rather than another. Worth a try until you get the Slice!

as another person has said ... Brayer... its is your friend with these mats! I bought one for inky stuff and never got on so it sat in the back of a drawer until this tip came up for the PCS ...and it works a treat usually. I do the same now with craft robo sheets as well to ensure a good stick down!
