I just discovered a fab new way to use the dymo - some of you have probably figured this out but I'm very excited.
Instead of shopping around for different coloured dymo tape I used ordinary cardstock with a different core colour (coredinations or any card with a white core) and cut it into a 9mm strip. I fed it into my dymo and once I finished "printing" I sanded the letters to bring out the core colour. I've tried it with a white core and it looks fab. I haven't tried coredinations yet, but I'm off to do it now.
The cardstock has to be quite thick though otherwise it just gets squashed.

I borrowed the Dymo for work to try it out on the coredinations card. I found you need a strip about 3 or 4 inches longer than you need because the last few inches wont feed through properly.
Looks really cool tho.

Yep this is great technique:)

If you don't have card with a different colour core you can swipe an inkpad over the raised letters instead.

I have some 12x12 coredinations but I'm not sure I want to cut them into strips. I think I'll get some 6x6s.

this sounds intresting, i've just 'borrowed' the un-used dymo from my mum's work, its great to know i can use it without tape :)

I've got a dymo too that is not used, so I think I need to go and cut up some card! Thanks for the tip :)
