I am absolutely delighted to say my parcel has arrived safe and sound. I am really pleased with even a wee pre-advent present to keep me amused. I have not opened it fully, it looks too good to be able to resist if I see it all. I lllllooooveee my preadvent pressie of a blue nosed bunny and will keep it out of Buck Bunny's reach in case he gets jealous. Thank you Santa !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have problems with our Jack in the garden! He digs holes left right and centre and when he cries to go out - thinking he needs the loo - he just goes off to the bottom of the garden to dig again! And when you call him - he just sits and looks at you as if to say - yeah right! We then have to go and try and catch him - he thinks its a game! Any suggestions?

Hysteri-CAL
29-11-2008, 11:19 AM
We shut the door on our jack if he won't come in. I take it he's a terrier of some description ? Our jack is a jack russell and they're reknown for digging.

They really need to be kept busy so I would always suggest using interactive toys with a portion of his biscuits or dry food in it ie Kongs or Buster cubes, or make your own from 2l lemonade bottles with small holes cut in it for the food to drop out. Fill it and watch him go. Also you can use old rags filled with a few treats. Tie it in knots and let him attack it until the bits drop out. Just a few bits I've tried with my clients so far most seem to help. Accompanied with a hefty 'NO' when you catch him at it and then distraction by offering toys instead.

I go in swings and rounabouts when it comes to alcohol. I went through a few months of having a few drinks each weekend at home. But then since getting hugely drunk one night at home ( about 6 months) and could hardly walk I have had about 5 drinks since if that! And they were when we were on holiday in Spain with family.

Same as our Jack Jnr then ... he's a July baby :D

I have fits and starts ... i'll occasionally have a bottle of wine at the weekend, or maybe a couple of gin & tonics ... and then i'll not have a drink for weeks. I hadn't had a drink for months until Quackas said she was having a vodka one night, and that was it ... I 'had' to have one !!!

what does your hubby do Tee - my twin brother is a Captain ... he started off doing exhibitions at the boat show !

He works for Oyster Yachts as a Senior commissioning assistant, but when the boat shows are coming up will sail the boats to and from them and helps set up the stands if needed to, he used to do skippering on private yachts. Do you enjoy being on the water Cal?

Hysteri-CAL
29-11-2008, 10:33 PM
Absolutely love it Tee .... for our honeymoon, my brother paid for hubby, DS and I to do the full 'st tropez season' which included a fab sail from Antibes back down to St Trop. It was fabby.

I don't get to do a lot of sailing now that Colin is based out of the country - but occasionally I get an odd phone call to see if I'm available to crew. Its been years now since i've had a really good sail.

Do you sail Tee ?

tcoker
29-11-2008, 10:47 PM
I love going with dh when I can...I am still in the learning process of all the ins and outs of sailing but with auto pilot and electric wenches it makes sailing much easier :D I love being on the water and nothing better then a sunset or sunrise while silently sailing.

The boys ones are ones that I made them years ago, with 24 pockets on, DH had an advent which was 25 little stockings hanging on a line, which I made him, but this year he has got a wooden train with 24 drawers that he brought from Ideal world earlier in the year.

I'm so angry cos the lady on the phone basically told me that recorded isn't worth the paper its printed on---all it is-is a signature at the other end--there is no way to trace it!!!!!! so where it is--i have no idea!! The only good thing is the guy in the post office didn't ask me how much it was worth-so 'insured' it for £36 (which is the max for recorded) so when the 15 days are up--guess how much i'll be claiming for

Santa is glad you are happy with your gifts Emma and is happy to report that no pink string will be appearing in your house this advent. ho ho ho.

Hi Santa, Could you tell me which pressie is the 6th and the 9th please? One is small and a bit squishy and the other is a little bigger and a bit rattly

Santa thinks the bigger present was for today - although it doesn't really matter which you open. ho ho ho

Maybe next year we should write six and nine rather than 6 and 9 !!! I think we've all got that problem !!

There are ways to make them distinctive, just takes a bit of imagination

Advent Santa, I've just put all my pressies round the tree and they're looking really lovely :thanks: I've noticed that day 6 and day 9 look the same any way up. Is it possible to know which on is which please? One's in silver/white paper and the other's in red/green/gold teddy paper.
:thanks:

you decide which ones you want to be 6 or 9. I have had a word with the elves and they are really sorry and will try to do better next time.
Santa hopes you are enjoying your Advent gifts so far.

Have a nice time today folks - I've got to go and do housework now as I have overnight visitors this evening.... My sis and BIL are coming down for a fun night at our local Chinese restaurant... they have the original Chinese Elvis performing tonight so we are making it our Christmas meal out!

DH is doing the driving as he has had 2 boozy evenings this week!

Message to carolynuk

Just thought i should mention that one of your presents (cannot remember which one, old braincells you know) is a bit of a joke from mrs claus, she has told me to tell you that when you open it you can either keep it for yourself or better still give it to your DH. She has just handed me a clue to pass on to you, it is:
after christmas dinner entertainment.
I really hope you are enjoying your gifts so far and that you like all the ones to come, also i really hope Katy likes her christmas and birthday gifts, if you want her to open them now she can as long as she has been extra good.
merry christmas to you and your family.

Thanks for the hint Santa - DH will probably love it (is it a pair of rubber gloves so he can do the washing up - that would be entertaining for me to watch)

I will see how Katy behaves tonight and tomorrow and decide if she has EARNED her goodies. She is being a complete pain in the bum at the moment

Chinese Elvis?????? Thats my kind of night out, hope you have fun and enjoy the meal and Elvis.

Hahaha to rubber gloves, might get my oh a pair for his christmas present, do you think he will get the hint especially if i throw in a bottle of washing up liquid.

Off to go food shopping now, see you all tomorrow morning.
