I am so new to this sort of thing and I DO HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME.....(not shouting just begging for help)
Where in the UK can I buy a set of these pencils to use with Sansador - whats the best price to pay and is there a good selection in the color pallet! Sorry about all these questions. I have heard that you also need special cardstock again where do I buy this and what type do I need (thickness weight etc)
See I am totally a novice.
I would love to see any cards that in your gallery that has used this technique I need a little inspiration as am so new to this.
Many thanks and thanx for taking to read this.
Love Autumn

Someone was selling some in the marketplace, and I don't think they sold, so it might be worth doing a search there.

I recently bought a set of 24 from the well-known internet auction site, cost about £15. They blend with baby oil if you dont want to buy the solvent for blending.
I've looked on the Hero Arts blog and Jennifer McGuire's blog and there are tutorials on colouring stamped images.

Olive Alison thank you so much for your help
Olive just had a look at your blog and loved your little scalloped book - am inspired. I am very new to scrapbooking and altered art - work does not allow me to do much crafting during the day and by the evening I just want to flop on the sofa.
I must make more of an effort next year......I SHOULD MAKE IT MY NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION FOR 2009 :o)
Have a lovely weekend

I got mine from a local art shop and the make is faber castell, polychromos. They come in a large range of colours and they are sold in sets or on their own which I preferred then you can buy just the colours you need. Price about £1.50 each pencil oh and I think I saw them in HC recently too. Definately the paper is the vital bit though, I use whipser white from SU.

I haven't used the baby oil yet.....but, I might try that. I don't like to use the gamasol (spirits) ...the smell is just too much for me. But, I have been successful in using a blender pencil made for the prisma pencils. It has no color to the lead....rather a milky white color...the outside pencil is colored just a wood color. This will let you blend your colors without all the mess. Not sure where you would find these pencils in your area there. I've found the blender pencils in Texas.

Derwent Coloursoft pencils are similar and will blend with Sansodor (mineral spirits) like Prismas. I have a set and love them. They are much more widely available in the UK - most art shops will stock them.

if you want a nice smell blend with lavender oils, I use polys on parchment and I have the prisma but you have to be so careful sharpening those has the leads are alot softer and break easier. I do prefer the polys. there is a wax pencil you can get which will blend the pencil colours too. Lynn x
